Chapter 510 - 510: Shadow Giant Dragon
Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Shadow Giant Dragon
In fact, after Song Jian gave most of the ant shells to Betty, the blueprint for the forging of the Demonized Ant King’s gauntlet had lost its value.
Without the Demonized Ant Shell, it was impossible to forge this gauntlet, and importantly, Song Jian only has the blueprint for this gauntlet, without any blueprints for other parts. Even if he managed to make it, its value would be much diminished.
Once he got the Golden Ant King Ancestor Set, Song Jian lost interest in the Demonic Ant Queen Set.
“These ant shells of yours are tainted with the aura of the Abyss; it would take a lot of work to rid them of it,” Betty said while frowning, looking at the pile of blue-quality ant shells that resembled a small mountain.
“It would be a bother if you could do that, consider these as extra craftmanship cost,” Song Jian took out a little over a thousand ant shells, chuckling as he did.
Seeing Song Jian took out over a thousand ant shells, Betty looked slightly happier.
Now Song Jian didn’t have a single ant shell left from his Ant Cavern haul, but these materials didn’t hold much value for him anymore. Compared to the thirty-level epic armor set in front of him, all this did not amount to much more than mere recycling.
“Leave it to me; come back for the equipment in three days,” Betty swept the ant shells resembling a small mountain into her storage space with one wave of her hand and entered her tent.
It was lively in the Shadow Circus Troupe, the equipment repair issue had been settled, and Song Jian was not in a hurry to level up, but began leisurely making his way around the troupe.
Having only interacted with the Shadow Circus Troupe a few times, Song Jian rapidly discovered that the troupe harbored deep secrets. It was bolstered by impressive resources, such as the Complete Recovery Potion in the storage section, which piqued his curiosity.
His Advanced Healing Potion was pretty decent, but compared to the Complete Recovery Potion, it was practically garbage.
“If only I could get my hands on the formula for the Complete Recovery Potion…” Song Jian muttered to himself. But he also knew that the difficulty of attaining the brewing method for the Complete Recovery Potion would be akin to the epic level mission he had previously completed.
While Song Jian was wandering around, someone suddenly bumped into him, and a note found its way into his hand.
Song Jian watched as the figure that had bumped into him quickly melted into the crowd, frowning slightly as he did.
He opened the note to a drawing of a skull, and an address followed by the signature, “your old slave.”
“Qi Yun?” Song Jian frowned.
As far as Qi Yun was concerned, Song Jian remained indifferent. Even though Qi Yun had advanced to the profession of Shadow Priest, with colossal potential for the future, Song Jian felt that his Sword Controller was not any worse. Moreover, he was much higher in level than Qi Yun and could easily overpower him in head-on combat.
However, it now seemed that Qi Yun had infiltrated the Shadow Circus Troupe. If conflict arose, it might disrupt the restoration of the Ant Emperor Ancestor Set.
“Let’s see what mischief this guy is up to,” Song Jian began walking toward the address penned on the paper.
Soon, Song Jian arrived at the edge of the Shadow Circus Troupe. There was an inconspicuous low tent, where a man with golden vertical pupils, fully wrapped in black cloth, was standing at the entrance.
Upon spotting Song Jian, Qi Yun started to cough and laugh, emitting a creepy voice as if he was forcing it out from his throat.
“You finally came,” Qi Yun said in a hoarse voice.
“What do you want? Out with it…” Song Jian said impatiently, “If it’s about the same thing as last time, save it. The fact that I didn’t report you to the Shadow Circus Troupe is a favor enough. Don’t you get it!”
“I called you over to offer you a good deal. Aren’t you going to listen?” said Qi Yun.
“A good deal? What good deal?” Song Jian scoffed. He found it hard to trust Qi Yun’s words. If he were Qi Yun, he would probably wish the worst on himself.
“Hehe, are you going to discuss this out in the open?” Qi Yun looked around and said, “Let’s go inside the tent. I trust you won’t be afraid.”
“Don’t try to goad me, it won’t work,” Song Jian responded disdainfully, walking towards the tent.
Qi Yun glanced around before entering the tent right behind Song Jian.
The interior of Qi Yun’s tent was very simple, comprised of a bed and several stools.
Standing inside, Song Jian felt as if his head was about to touch the top of the tent.
“What is it?” Song Jian asked.
Qi Yun began by setting up an anti-spying enchantment in the tent. Soon, soft lights were emitted from the four corners of the tent. Song Jian felt as if the entire tent was enveloped in a bubble.
If any mental strength tried to probe this place, he would be immediately found. However, the enchantment had no defensive capabilities. It could be effortlessly broken from the inside or the outside.
“I’ve told you before, this Shadow Circus Troupe, in reality, is transporting a Shadow Crystal to the Shadow Castle in the Shadowfang Mountain Range…” Qi Yun spoke slowly.
Song Jian listened attentively, with an initially dismissive expression that quickly changed into a serious one.
“So you’re saying that there are shadow dragons in the Shadow Castle? And that the entire Shadow Circus Troupe is basically this dragon’s slave?” Song Jian asked, stunned.
“Indeed. This is the information I gathered after joining the Shadow Circus Troupe. The reason why they are transporting the Shadow Crystal is because this Shadow Dragon is getting old and needs the crystal to sustain its life…” Qi Yun laughed, coughing as he did.
“What does this have to do with me?” Song Jian asked, his face impassive.
In fact, Song Jian was greatly shocked. Any dragon of any attribute was at the peak of the food chain. In this game, defeating a dragon would instantaneously make a player a fortune.
Moreover, this was an elderly dragon on the brink of death, providing a tantalizing opportunity for Song Jian.
However, Song Jian was clearly aware of his strength. He hadn’t even reached the first combat power level yet. A large number of people in the Shadow Circus Troupe had already reached level one in combat power, and they were still reduced to being the Shadow Dragon’s servants, let alone Song Jian himself.
“A dragon isn’t enough to whet your appetite?” Qi Yun chuckled.
“Heh, you think too highly of me…” Song Jian shook his head and calmly said, although, he was now fully interested in this Shadow Dragon.
“Even if it is an aging dragon on the brink of death, it still has a few years, or even a decade of life left. I can afford to wait until I’m stronger before hunting it down…” Song Jian thought to himself.
“That’s fine, since you’re not interested in the Shadow Dragon, how about resurrection after death? Are you interested in that?” Qi Yun asked, watching Song Jian closely.
“Resurrection after death?” Song Jian felt a jolt run through his body. He stared at Qi Yun, his face filled with surprise.
…
