Chapter 17-2
Residence of the Duke Adelaira, Sion’s room.
Sion looks down at the water in the container, regulating his breathing.
The holy water that had been tinged with a golden hue was now completely golden.
This meant that the preparations were complete, and if he drank it and persevered, he could achieve the desired results.
‘This process is quite difficult.’
The holy water contained the power of the white apostle, El Tesoikve.
Even if he drank it as it was, he could see some appropriate effects, but it was not enough to completely block the magic erosion of Exceed Rain.
That’s why he had been waiting for the color of the holy water to change, spending time and effort.
‘Did it take about three days?’
To change the nature of the holy water. It needed the power of the sun and the moon.
In other words, it had to receive sunlight and moonlight, so Sion carried holy water day and night.
Thanks to that, he heard the sound of Hanette going crazy, but he was able to finish it safely.
‘I told her in advance, so she won’t disturb me.’
Sion planned not to leave the room until this time tomorrow.
After drinking the holy water, he had to abstain from eating or drinking anything for a day.
If he consumed anything before the day was over, the holy water would not be able to permeate his body and would disappear.
‘I can endure for a day or so…’
Sion slowly raised the container of holy water.
He had told Hanette about this, but he only received a response to not do anything strange.
If she didn’t believe him, he would have to show it through his actions.
‘That’s what it means to be a noble. People don’t easily believe what others say.’
Sion took a deep breath and drank the holy water in one gulp.
The unique fragrance spread out, and it felt like a bland yet clean taste was lingering in his mouth.
As he finished drinking the holy water, a cool energy started rising up from within his body.
‘Now… will I no longer be an extra?’
***
Residence of the Duke Adelaira, Hanette’s room.
Hanette tried to visit Sion before receiving her allowance.
However, Sion did not show himself, hiding inside his room.
When Hanette asked the maids about the reason, they only repeated the same answer.
‘He said the same thing to me.’
Hanette recalled Sion’s words while lying on the bed.
‘I won’t leave this room until the next day. Don’t worry, food and water have already been prepared.’
Why was he doing this?
‘Did something bad happen recently?’
As far as Hanette could remember, Sion had never expressed any negative emotions after coming to the mansion.
He always engaged in childish arguments with Hanette or played trivial pranks.
Sion always appeared the same, and Hanette adjusted to his personality.
“Wait… Could it be…”
Hanette contemplated before absentmindedly looking towards the desk.
On the desk lay the box (Present) Sion had given her.
Hanette did not bother to touch it after realizing it was just a superstitious item that cost him a lot of money.
“Are you upset because I didn’t use it?”
Hanette chuckled and sat up.
It was nothing more than jewelry with a trivial meaning.
Sion refused to leave the room just because she did not wear it.
‘He acts like a kid, always doing strange things.’
Hanette frowned and lay back down.
Regardless of Sion’s intention, she could not show more than gratitude.
She did not like jewelry and rarely wore it.
It would have been better if Sion had asked Hanette before buying a gift.
‘Try your best. Fufu. But I doubt I’ll wear that around my neck.’

As soon as Hanette woke up from sleep, she looked out the window.
Yesterday, she spent her time indoors and fell asleep on her own. Sometimes she thought about Sion, but she quickly erased the thoughts from her mind because she didn’t want to back down easily.
“Miss Hanette, it’s time to wake up… Oh my goodness!”
The maid who was entering the room spotted Hanette and exclaimed in admiration. There were very few times when Hanette had already woken up before her arrival. Perhaps she had stayed up all night or had something urgent to do.
“Oh, you’re here?”
Hanette got out of bed and approached the dressing table.
The maid stared at her with a shocked expression and stepped back belatedly.
Hanette dipped her hands into the bowl brought by the maid, and began to wash quietly.
‘…Is he still in the room?’
Hanette quickly washed up and changed into her formal attire. Then she started to do her makeup and finally opened her mouth.
“Has my fiancé woken up?”
“Well, um…”
“What is?”
“He haven’t come out of the room since yesterday.”
“…?”
Hanette stopped for a moment and turned her head towards the desk.
It didn’t seem like a time to fight over pride.
If she knew he was such a stubborn person, wouldn’t she have pretended to put on the necklace at least?
“Ah, really… Why are acting like a kid?”
Hanette quickly moved and grabbed the box on the desk.
She opened the box and took out the necklace, putting it around her neck.
Then she went straight to the corridor and banged on the door of the next room.
“Hey! Come out quickly! I’ll wear this and walk around, so come out! Do you want to make me a widow?”
