Chapter 30 - (Revised by Author) The Main Heroine Appears!
Author Notes:
Hello, dear readers. This is the author of “I Became a National ‘Disaster’ Level Monster.”
First, I would like to apologize sincerely. I am truly sorry for any discomfort that my work may have caused.
I have reflected deeply after receiving harsh criticism from many readers about the recent “Big House” episode.
The unreasonable plot twists and nonsensical surprises were inexcusable. I am deeply sorry for disappointing the readers who were enjoying my work.
After much deliberation, I am embarrassed but I have decided to entirely remove the “Big House” episode.
Thankfully, this episode was designed as a sort of spin-off, so if you continue with the content added in episode 28, you should be able to follow along with the original storyline easily.
Once again, I deeply apologize. I have clearly understood what you, the readers, expect from my work, and I will do my best to meet those expectations and show you the dedication you deserve.
The only reason a third-rate author like me could rise to this position among the many masterpieces on NobelPia is because of your interest. From now on, I will focus and do my best with the series.
Thank you.
Chapter 30 (Revised by Author) The Main Heroine Appears!
That day was the day I met Princess Kurumi.
Waking up early in the morning, I had to prepare exceptionally thoroughly.
I took a shower for a full hour, washing away all the bacteria that had accumulated on my body while I slept. I then used mouthwash and covered myself with various pleasant scents.
“Is this enough?”
“Wait! Your collar is down. For a man, the collar is everything.”
“Hmm, yes, yes. Indeed.”
As usual, Aunt Rolling and Uncle Seok-gyu checked my attire and body condition, delaying their own departure for work.
Behind the two, who meticulously groomed me, was Sophia, who looked particularly gloomy today.
“…Tsk!”
“……”
Sophia and I were both dispatched to the same site today.
However, Sophia was stationed ‘outside’ for the mansion’s guard, while I was going ‘inside’ the mansion to dine with the princess, a guest even the original work hadn’t seen.
Though we were in the same place, we weren’t allowed to meet freely.
The inside of Princess Kurumi’s mansion was a place only those ‘permitted’ by her could enter.
‘Maybe I’ll see Sophia again in the evening if I go in now?’
Last night, she seemed quite angry, making two lunchboxes and suggesting we eat together.
“Well, have a good trip!”
“Ah, yes…”
“If the princess gets upset, apologize immediately and leave the room!”
“Sophia, good luck with the guard duty today.”
“Got it…”
I finished all preparations and stepped outside.
Waiting for us at the hotel entrance was a limousine.
I tried not to be nervous, but I swallowed hard.
***
“The main gate, the most important part of guarding the mansion…”
“I will take care of that.”
“Oh! If Hunter Sophia takes charge, that’s reassuring!”
“Then I’ll head back and take the rear gate.”
We finally arrived at Princess Kurumi’s mansion by limousine.
The building, visible beyond the fence, looked like a grand traditional Japanese inn.
As soon as we arrived, Sophia informed the other hunters of her assigned area and stood at the entrance I would pass through.
…She probably chose this spot to finish her shift and leave with me as quickly as possible.
“Well, I’m off.”
“…If anything happens, just scream. I’ll rush in immediately.”
“No, please don’t do that…”
Given that the Beast Hunter’s nature made them extremely vigilant towards others, especially the princess of the Kitsune Family, known for being the most guarded among the world’s top ten families.
I was about to give Sophia a brief warning when it happened.
“Hmm-hmm-hmm~♪ I came to become friends with the princess~♫”
A humming tune came from behind me.
Even though it was the front of the private property of one of the world’s top ten families.
Standing confidently before us, as if already friends with Princess Kurumi, was a girl.
She had pink pigtails with a cute ribbon.
Just standing there, she exuded an aura of loveliness, with hearts seemingly popping out around her.
“Excuse me~. If you’re the guards, could you please move aside~?”
The woman in front of me was deliberately acting cute and harmless.
Surprised by her early appearance compared to the original work, I took a step back.
“What…”
“Uh? Excuse me~. If you avoid me like that, what am I supposed to think?”
“Oh, um, I’m sorry.”
“…? What’s wrong? Do you know her?”
“No, it’s not that…”
Of course, this was my first time meeting her in reality.
But in the game
And half of those times, I ended up being used and discarded while trying to recruit her.
“Hmph! Now I’m mad!”
[Yoo Shi-hyun’s affinity decreased by 10.]
Her name was Yoo Shi-hyun.
She was one of the main heroines of the original work, possessing a ‘charm’ ability that made it easy to build affinity with others, known as a ‘Condition Hunter.’
“Hmm~. But you don’t seem like a hunter, so why are you here?”
Condition Hunters.
They were specialized supporters who could inflict ‘status ailments’ on targets.
Among them, Yoo Shi-hyun could use charm.
“Wow~! You’re amazing~!”
At first, she pretended to be a weak extra, cheering from behind. But when her opponent became weaker than her:
“Stay behind me.”
Suddenly, she would act cool and elegant, pretending to be beautiful, embodying all those traits of a heroine.
Of course, in the early to mid stages, as long as she was left alone, she would monopolize all the good things in the story, literally becoming the sole protagonist herself.
“Uh, huh? Why isn’t this dying?”
The problem was, she was not the protagonist but a heroine.
Because she became stronger quickly and easily through external factors rather than pure training, she soon hit her limits. If no one was there to put on the brakes, she would end up meeting a tragic end.
‘To recruit her as an ally, I had to offer high-quality items every few days, right?’
If the quality of the items being offered was low or if the days were not met before her affinity reached MAX, she would quickly turn into a villain to steal all my items.
Feeling that it wouldn’t be particularly beneficial to get close to her now, I tried to just pass by her.
“Well then, I’ll take my leave first.”
I wondered why Yoo Shi-hyun, who was supposed to make her first appearance in the ‘Giant Subjugation’ main quest two months later, appeared so early.
Thinking that, I took a step towards the mansion’s front gate.
But then it happened.
“Excuse. Me.”
Suddenly, Yoo Shi-hyun grabbed me from behind, forcibly turning me to face her.
To avoid her charm, I averted my eyes, but she grabbed my face, forcing me to look at her.
“You know, I’ve suddenly become a little interested in you.”
“…!”
“Plain extra guy. Aren’t you happy and excited to make eye contact with a beautiful woman like me? Don’t you want to answer anything I ask you right away?”
It felt like inhaling a drug that made my entire brain ecstatic just by smelling it.
My vision quickly turned heart-shaped, and my lips trembled, wanting to answer her questions.
But despite appearances, I was a seasoned player.
“Pl, please, stop…!”
“Hmm…”
“Let, go, of me…”
To resist the charm effect, I closed my eyes and kept resisting Yoo Shi-hyun.
Eventually, losing her patience,
“Ugh, seriously… This idiot. I was planning to use you since you’re a guest of the princess, but you’re resisting to the end?”
Yoo Shi-hyun began to scold me with the same annoyed expression she always had when she betrayed me in the original work.
“Hey. You. Plain extra guy. Why does someone insignificant like you think you can stand on the same level as someone special like me?”
“St, stop…!”
“When I see people like you, who aren’t special but think they’re something and try to seize opportunities, it makes me want to puke. You don’t know your place~.”
“Stop it…!”
“Hehe. Stop what? Oh, stop the truth-telling…”
“Sophia! Don’t kill her!!”
“…Huh?”
Yoo Shi-hyun’s insults didn’t affect me much, as I had become immune to them from playing the game so much.
What I was worried about was Sophia, whose face had turned pale behind Yoo Shi-hyun.
Grasp.
“Huh?”
Sophia unclenched her fist at my shout and instead placed her hand on Yoo Shi-hyun’s shoulder.
“What is it? Do you have any business?”
“Sophia. Don’t!”
“Sophi, ah? Wait… Sophia?”
She then applied force to one arm.
Crack.
“Kyaaaak?!”
Forcing Yoo Shi-hyun to her knees on the ground.
“It hurts! It hurts!”
Yoo Shi-hyun, who had been holding me, grabbed Sophia’s arm that was pressing her down.
But Yoo Shi-hyun was a D-rank hunter.
Meanwhile, Sophia was a B-rank hunter recognized not only in Korea but also in the United States.
Crack.
“Stop it! Stop! Stop!!”
No matter how much she tried, her opponent wouldn’t budge.
Seeing the terrifying woman above her, relentlessly trying to dislocate her shoulder with overwhelming strength,
“I’m sorry! I apologize!”
Yoo Shi-hyun finally apologized just before her shoulder was dislocated.
