Chapter 137: Kakashi and Rin’s Death
At Konoha Hospital, Rin focused on bandaging a patient, her skilled hands moving with precision.
The calm atmosphere was abruptly shattered when Obito burst into the room, radiating excitement. His eyes sparkled with anticipation as he approached Rin, who looked at him with a puzzled expression.
"Rin, haha, come on, let's go!" Obito exclaimed, grabbing her hand and attempting to drag her outside.
"Wait, Obito, I have to finish this bandage." Rin protested, gently pulling her hand away. "What's got you so thrilled?"
"Haha, you'll see when you get there. Trust me!" Obito winked.
Similar scenes unfolded as Kakashi lounged on a tree branch, nonchalantly observing the commotion below.
"Idiot, it's a Sharingan; why are you making such a fuss? Look at yourself; you're still the weakest of the team."Kakashi sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Obito's excitement turned into frustration. "Kakashi, what's your problem? If you don't want to help, just say so. I don't need you."
Fueled by anger, Obito turned on his heel and stormed off, leaving Kakashi to reconsider. After a moment of contemplation, Kakashi sighed.
"Fine, fine, I'll go with you. I want to see how the Uchiha clan's sharingan works."Kakashi said, jumping down from the tree and putting his hands in his pockets. "Let's go."
Though still fuming, Obito noticed Kakashi walking ahead. Determined not to be left behind, he called out, "Hey, wait for me!" and hurried to catch up.
----------------
Mikoto opened the door with a gentle smile, welcoming Obito, Kakashi, and Rin into the home.
"Fugaku is waiting for you in the garden," she informed them.
Obito acknowledged with a nod, and the trio followed Mikoto toward the garden, their anticipation building. Obito held a silent hope that opening his Sharingan could fulfill his dream.
As they entered the garden, Kakashi and Rin exchanged curious glances, wondering why Obito had extended this unique invitation to them.
Facing the formidable figure of Fugaku, the Uchiha leader, they were met with a sense of solemnity.
Fugaku's eyes slowly transformed into a Sharingan fixated on Obito's eager face. In a low, measured voice, he asked, "Are you sure you want to open the Sharingan?"
"Yes, of course, I dream of it," Obito replied, meeting Fugaku's gaze with determination and nodding eagerly.
Fugaku nodded back, saying, "Very well, then."
In an unexpected blur, Fugaku's hand aimed for Obito's heart with incredible speed.
"Idiot, dodge!" Kakashi's warning pierced through the air, and with a swift reaction, he pushed Obito out of harm's way.
Stunned, Obito fell to the ground beside Kakashi, his trembling hands touching a warm liquid on his face. "Is this... blood?" His mind raced with confusion.
Kakashi lay lifeless beside him, his eyes fading away. Panic and horror gripped Obito as the reality sank in.
Kakashi… Is he dead? Why? They were just talking. Why did Fugaku try to kill him?
"No.... obito, run." Kakashi's weak voice reached Obito, confirming the unthinkable.
"Kakashi!" Rin screamed, her shock and sadness echoing through the garden.
Fugaku withdrew his hand from Kakashi's heart, frowning. "Stop yelling; you're making too much noise!"
"Why did you kill Kakashi?" Obito's anger erupted, his voice echoing in disbelief.
Fugaku, seemingly at a loss for words, responded slowly, "Don't blame me. I was trying to trigger your emotions and help you open your eyes. How was I supposed to know he would push you away?"
Obito couldn't comprehend the situation. Did he... did he just kill Kakashi himself? How could this happen?
"Since I've killed one, I can't spare the other. "The Uchiha clan secret must not be exposed," Fugaku stated cautiously. "The Uchiha's sharingan, the cursed eye, requires our people to lose their loved ones, to feel extreme grief, to awaken its power. I thought I could find another way, but it seems I was wrong."
Kneeling on the ground, Obito sobbed, blood dripping from his forehead. "No, Patriarch, I don't want to open my eyes. I don't want to open my eyes, please. Please let Rin go."
Fugaku considered Rin for a moment, shaking his head helplessly. "No, I've already killed Kakashi. She's not of our clan, and if she talks about today's events, it will cause a battle between Konoha's high-level and the Uchiha, so..."
In another swift motion, Rin felt Fugaku's hand around her neck, lifting her up with alarming strength.
"Run… Obito…" Her words hung in the air, a desperate plea.
Time froze. Obito's eyes were empty, tears falling as he held Rin close, his world shattering in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy.
-------------------------
"I, Uchiha Obito... I'll kill you. I'll kill you." Obito declared.
His once black pupils transformed into a vivid red, two black commas gracefully etching themselves onto the crimson irises, forming a sharingan.
"Hey… Obito… Wake up…"
"Obito… Are you okay?"
The sky unfolded on a brilliant blue canvas, adorned with fluffy white clouds and the dazzling embrace of the sun. Obito gradually opened his eyes, finding his two teammates by his side, their expressions marked with concern. And he was lying on the ground?
"What… what happened? Kakashi, Rin? You guys... you guys... aren't dead?" Obito questioned, rubbing his eyes in disbelief.
"idiot." Kakashi slapped Obito on the head. "What a moron, you couldn't tell it was a genjutsu?"
"Genjutsu? What genjutsu?" Obito looked at Fugaku, who still stood where he was, while rubbing his sore head. "What do you mean? When did it happen?"
Kakashi shot Obito a scornful look. "As soon as you got here, you collapsed, mumbling nonsense. And you still don't get it?"
