Chapter 132: It’s Okay
Susanoo's powerful blow met no resistance, causing the entire Hozuki Castle to shake violently.
The strong punch crushed Satori's head, and the colossal monster gradually disintegrated, transforming into black smoke that dissipated into nothingness.
As the dark, golden Susanoo faded away, Fugaku emerged. Under the square's surface lay the lifeless bodies of prisoners who had met tragic ends.
Some might have perished, while others clung to survival through sheer luck. Whether they could reclaim their sanity hinged on the unpredictable whims of fate.
----------------------------
Jiraiya stood on a castle wall, flanked by two summoned toads—one on each shoulder.
"Jiraiya boy, why did you summon us? And how did Bunta get injured so badly?"
"Jiraiya boy, what happened here?"
The toads gazed in shock at the ruins laid out before them. The vast square lay demolished; its center caved in, and the surrounding castle walls crumbled.
One of the toads spoke up, "What kind of enemy could push you to this extent, boy?"
"Huh? Didn't Bunta tell you?"
"He came back in a coma!"
"I see… I'm really sorry to bother you guys. I thought I would need your help, but now it seems... It's not necessary anymore."
"What? Are you joking with us?"
"Boy, don't say that. We came here for a reason."
Jiraiya felt a bitter sting. He hadn't known Fugaku could escape on his own, and the newfound strength he displayed after escaping left Jiraiya perplexed. The weapon sage of the era of six paths, a mystery before, is now no more.
"Never mind, since we're here, you have to tell us what happened, right?"
"Our enemy was the monster in the Box of Bliss, Satori, but he killed it!" Jiraiya looked at Fugaku, who had just emerged, and offered a bitter smile.
Toad Fukasaku was visibly shocked upon hearing the revelation. Shima, on the other hand, reacted swiftly: "The Box of Bliss? You mean the weapon from the Six Paths Sage Era? And he... killed Satori?"
"Where's the box?" Fukasaku couldn't believe it. Jiraiya was also at a loss for words.
"He destroyed it too... These pieces on the ground are...
"What? How is that possible? I heard it was a very hard box!"
One man and two toads all stared at the rubble on the ground and the pensive young man.
------------------------------
Lost in thought about his new ability, Fugaku was interrupted when he heard someone talking. Looking up, he saw two frogs on Jiraiya's shoulder.
"What? Is that your Sage mode? It looks ridiculous."
Fugaku wanted to retort, noting that no matter how ridiculous it appeared, it couldn't be as absurd as him. However, he refrained from saying it aloud.
"Is that the power of your eyes? How did managing land hit him?"
Fugaku smiled, his Sharingan transforming into a Mangekyo. Closing his right eye, he fixed his left eye on Jiraiya and replied, "It may not affect you, but you can still feel it."
"I don't feel anything," Jiraiya said, clearly confused.
"Move…" Fugaku instructed. Jiraiya complied, and to his surprise, he experienced a sluggish sensation: "Is that... Space Confinement?"
Though he could move, there was a subtle resistance. In his Sage Mode, Jiraiya recognized the technique and deduced that Fugaku had closed his left eye to conserve strength, solely focusing on that ability.
"What amazing eye power!" Fukasaku exclaimed, unable to hide his admiration.
------------------------------
Both of Fugaku's eyes possessed spatial ninjutsu abilities, compensating for his limited knowledge in that field. His left eye focused on control, utilizing spatial confinement to manage targets based on their strength.
Fugaku could condense his ocular power to various levels, and the longer he charged, the more potent and expansive the effect became.
In contrast, his right eye resembled Obito's eye. Unlike Kamui, which allows the user to transfer objects to and from another dimension, These transfers are often characterized by a spiraling void that targets swirl into or out of, distorting their form as they move between dimensions. Fugaku's right eye could tear apart anything he laid eyes on.
Fugaku found satisfaction in his body's immunity to many ninjutsu. With Susanoo as his defense, he felt confident.
"Alright, Jiraiya, we'll leave now that everything is fine." Shima said. "It looks like Uchiha has another amazing young man."
"Yes, yes!" Even though they hadn't witnessed any exciting battles, the two toads had gleaned astonishing news, making the trip worthwhile.
With that, two puffs of smoke enveloped them, and the two sage toads vanished from Jiraiya's shoulders. Jiraiya ceased the Sage mode.
"I thought you would be gone, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise," Jiraiya said with a bitter smile.
The prospect of his demise in that eerie place would have been tragic. Fugaku felt a shiver down his spine. If it weren't for his body's resistance to the corruption of darkness, he might not have survived this time. Fortunately, he was safe, but it underscored the need for caution in future missions.
He mused about the grass country, initially thinking it was a small place. Little did he know they harbored such a formidable weapon.
