I Am Fugaku Uchiha

Chapter 127: Satori

Fugaku swiftly formed a hand seal; his movements were precise and practiced.

“Eight Gates: The fifth gate, Gate of Limit, opens!” he declared, and in an instant, his chakra surged explosively, creating a powerful aura around him.

Jiraiya, witnessing the sudden display of Fugaku's strength, couldn't hide his astonishment.

"When did you get this strong?" His voice echoed with disbelief, and his face reflected the shock of the unexpected power.

"Now is not the time to talk. Cover me," Fugaku commanded, determination in his eyes as he vanished in a blur. Jiraiya wasted no time and quickly followed suit.

As they raced through the battlefield, a menacing creature launched a ferocious attack, its claws aimed directly at Fugaku.

The creature's speed matched Fugaku's heightened state, leaving him bewildered.

Surprised by the creature's ability to keep up, Fugaku's forward momentum came to an abrupt halt. Planting his right heel on the ground, he created a small crack and leaped back with astonishing swiftness, narrowly evading the deadly claws.

The claws raked the earth, sending rubble flying. They barely missed Fugaku’s clothes, almost tearing his flesh!

The earth trembled as the creature's claws raked the ground, sending rubble flying in all directions. Fugaku's clothes were spared by mere inches, the claws almost tearing into his flesh.

That was too close! If not for my Sharingan, I would have been dead by now! Fugaku thought.

From behind him, Jiraiya's voice grumbled, "Hey, if you want me to cover you, at least let me catch up. Can you cooperate a bit?"

The creature hurled a flurry of feathers toward them. In a seamless display of synchronicity, both Jiraiya and Fugaku dodged the onslaught.

Jiraiya's eyes gleamed with realization. The beast was not only formidable but incredibly agile, possessing the ability to take flight. It presented a challenge beyond their current means—neither he nor Fugaku had the capability to fly. The question lingered: How could they hope to engage such a beast effectively?

In the heat of the moment, Jiraiya swiftly made a critical decision. Dodging another feathered assault, he steadied himself and swiftly formed hand seals.

“Summoning Jutsu!”

A billow of smoke enveloped the battlefield, revealing a colossal toad, easily rivaling the creature in size. This majestic toad, adorned in a kimono with a distinctive "toad" character on its back, was none other than Jiraiya's summoning creature—Gamabunta.

"Jiraiya, why did you summon me so late? Hey, who's this guy?" Gamabunta grumbled, his gaze directed at Fugaku, who stood confidently on his head.

Jiraiya, maintaining a serious expression, replied, "Gamabunta, forget about that for now. Let's focus on the enemy!"

Gamabunta, aware that a formidable adversary lay ahead, emerged from the summoning with a degree of uncertainty. As he set his gaze upon the imposing beast standing on the box, surprise etched across his amphibian features.

Gamabunta deftly evaded yet another volley of deadly feathers. Seizing a moment amidst the chaos, he couldn't help but voice his curiosity.

"Hey, Jiraiya, what's the deal? Why is the Box of Bliss here?"

Fugaku, reveling in the thrill of riding on the giant toad, was taken aback by the toad question. "Huh? You know the Box of Bliss?"

"Of course, I know! That’s the ultimate weapon of the Six Paths Era," Gamabunta grumbled, annoyance evident despite the need to dodge the relentless feathered onslaught. With each leap, the toad skillfully evaded the piercing feathers, explaining as he moved.

Fugaku found himself shocked by the mention of the Six Paths Era. The toad explained the revelation, yet it raised questions in Fugaku's mind.

The pattern on his pendant, discovered in the Land of Grass, lingered in his thoughts. Was there a connection between them? Perhaps he could seek answers from the old toad sage later.

However, Gamabunta's voice snapped Fugaku out of his contemplation. "Hey, isn't that Satori?"

"Satori? Is that what this monster is called?" Jiraiya echoed, his memory triggered by the familiar name.

As the toad leaped again, skillfully avoiding another attack, Gamabunta, now in a wary tone, revealed the ominous history of the Box of Bliss.

"The box has such powers that it once allowed Kusagakure to nearly take over the world during the time of the Sage of Six Paths.

He captures all the enemies he meets and captures them in the box. His body is a puppet controlled by the box. And he can read emotions.

I don’t know what kind of ninjutsu he uses, but the box can turn anyone trapped inside into his ally. So his army grows bigger and bigger!”

The Satori sent a relentless barrage of feathers toward them.

Responding swiftly, Gamabunta drew his imposing longsword—relatively short for him but formidable nonetheless—and skillfully blocked the incoming feathers.

“Jiraiya, let try one more time!” he declared determinedly.

Swiftly, he dashed forward, utilizing the incredible speed. Gathering chakra in his hands, he leaped high. As expected, the Satori reappeared.

“I am ready too!” Jiraiya formed hand seals quickly as he ran, preparing another “Fire Style: Great Flame Bomb.”

It was larger than the one he had used earlier. The Satori skillfully dodged in the air, but this evasion created an opening for Fugaku.

Utilizing the fifth gate’s speed, his own strength, and precise chakra control, he delivered a powerful punch that landed on the top of the box, generating a resounding noise.

To their shock, the box only dented, showing no signs of actual damage. Another feather attack ensued, prompting Fugaku and Jiraiya to swiftly retreat from the enigmatic box.

“What the hell is Box made of?” Fugaku closed the fifth gate and stared incredulously at the Box of Bliss.

Jiraiya, equally astonished, couldn't shake off the perplexity. He held a deep understanding of Fugaku's strength, knowing that he surpassed even Tsunade—the formidable ninja who could inflict serious harm with a mere casual punch.

Tsunade's strength is something to be reckoned with, and yet, the box did not budge off.

“It’s no use. I’ve tried many times inside, but I couldn’t break this box!”

The Satori calmly landed on the box with its enormous wings, looking at Fugaku and Jiraiya with a steady gaze. The tone of its speech added another layer of confusion.

"Are you really the Mui brother? You killed your brother just now?”

“Should I thank him for throwing me into the box?”
