Chapter 435: Mirroring
Leo thought, "Dominating these surrounding kingdoms is a breeze—even with just a single legendary knight on my side!"
Turning his gaze away from the three knights before him, he decided to check the other system rewards before mapping out his plan for world domination.
"First things first—let’s boost my attribute points!" he mused. He attempted to add to his Spirit stat, but once again, it failed. It seemed that raising his Spirit required an upgrade to the system, though he had no idea how to accomplish this. Some skills depended on a system upgrade, but there was no manual, no guide.
“Alright then, I’ll add 4,000 points to Physical Constitution and keep 6,000 free, just in case I find a way to increase Spirit,” he decided. Quickly, he added the points, and the system notification appeared.
“Confirm?”
“Yes!” Leo tapped without hesitation.
But as soon as he confirmed, he felt... nothing. It was as though nothing had changed. To test it, he grabbed a knife and pressed it against his skin—yet the blade failed to pierce him.
He realized, "Physical Constitution enhances the body’s resilience; at low levels, it’s subtle, but once it reaches a stat value above fifty, it can deflect an ordinary sword. By my estimate, a Physical Constitution of 100 would withstand the strike of a knight attendant, a value of 600 could stop a full-fledged knight, and at 4,000, even a great knight’s blade would falter. Meaning, even if I stood perfectly still, a great knight couldn’t break my skin no matter how hard he tried!"
Leo’s excitement grew. With such a high Physical Constitution, even a silver knight would find it difficult to injure him, let alone kill him. His Physical Constitution was now almost on par with that of a heavenly knight.
“Should I increase Physical Strength and Agility too?” he pondered, then dismissed the thought. With a super knight as his bodyguard, his personal strength wasn’t an issue. Besides, excessive physical strength had its own complications. After all, he had numerous “maids” in his service, and a sudden surge of strength might endanger them. If he were to increase his strength by thousands, in the throes of certain “activities,” he could accidentally harm his partner. A higher strength value would mean seeking out “maids” with equally resilient physiques. However, female knights were rare, and those that existed were hardly as beautiful as his current companions.
In practice, having an overpowered strength stat could force him to abstain from "yin and yang" for years, at least until he mastered his new strength. Frankly, Leo didn’t have the patience for that.
"They say great knights can’t marry ordinary women—the strength gap is simply too vast. I’m thankfully far from great knight status, so I don’t have these problems," he thought. Love between commoners and great knights was considered forbidden; any intimate relationship could end fatally for the commoner. Many cases of great knights, and even some strong knights, accidentally snapping their partner’s spine or breaking bones were well known.
Agility presented similar concerns, though to a lesser extent than Strength. Only his Physical Constitution could be increased without interfering with the art of yin and yang.
“Alright, stats sorted for now. Let’s check out the sword and armor!” Leo thought. The system had rewarded him with a quality sword and shield, and he could hardly wait to try them out.
Super Weapon - "Soul Breaker Sword"
This legendary sword bypasses physical defenses and strikes directly at the soul, rendering traditional armor useless.
Leo activated the sword card, and with a bright green flash, a slender, light-blue blade appeared in his hand. It felt incredibly light, almost feather-like, and balanced perfectly in his grip.
"This has a few unique skills?" he realized, sensing abilities like long-range slashing and soul searching. The sword even possessed a spell called Soul Teleportation, which could extract and protect his soul in moments of extreme danger. This spell alone made it a lifesaver against potential assassination attempts. Of course, with his high Physical Constitution, he didn’t fear the average assassin; however, if a particularly powerful one struck, he might not even see them coming in time to activate the skill. The practical use of Soul Teleportation was yet to be tested.
Mythic Full-Body Armor - "Voidcaller Plate"
This mythic armor can completely defend against regular strikes from legendary knights and provides some protection even against mythic knights. Its specialty lies in blocking void-based attacks. Against void attacks, it offers unparalleled protection.
Leo sensed that this armor also came with several skills, though none quite as impressive as the sword’s. Still, he felt significantly safer wearing it; with this armor, anyone below mythic rank wouldn’t be able to inflict serious damage on him. Covering his entire body, it provided him with comprehensive protection, even for his soul, with no evident vulnerabilities. Unlike lower-grade armors with gaps that could be exploited, high-grade knight armors like this were enchanted to cover every part, leaving no weaknesses.
"Alright, time to see the other items!" Leo eagerly examined the remaining rewards.
Other Rewards:
Absolute Recovery Cards (x10): Instantly heals the target, effective against any damage or affliction from beings below rank 10, covering everything from soul wounds to curses and diseases.
Ultra Beast Taming Card (x1): Instantly tames any ultra-rank or lower beast upon activation, transferring a control token to the caster for absolute command. Applies to any non-humanoid creature.
Ultimate Temporary Mind Control Spell Card (x1): This card grants a mind control token effective over any ultimate-rank or lower being. The duration varies based on the target’s resistance, but the system guarantees control for a minimum of five minutes.
Ultimate Temporary Summon Card (x1): Activates to summon an ultimate-rank knight for an hour to assist the caster, after which the knight disappears.
Finally, Leo examined the ultimate-rank item he’d received.
Ultimate Magic Treasure - "The Mirror of Eternal Reflections"
This powerful mirror can duplicate anything below ultimate rank, including living beings. Duplicates last up to a year in the real world or, if stored in the mirror’s dimension, can last a thousand years. They retain all the qualities of the original. The mirror can create up to ten duplicates daily, with a 20% chance of duplicating ultimate-rank items and a 0.01% chance for absolute-rank items; failure in duplicating an ultimate rank results in one crack, while a failure in duplicating absolute rank results in a hundred cracks; the mirror would be destroyed after three hundred cracks.
Leo read the description with mounting excitement. "This mirror is insanely overpowered!" he thought. At first glance, its power might not be obvious, but with this mirror, he practically had a limitless army of super-rank knights at his fingertips! He already had one super knight; now, he could create ten daily duplicates. Though the copies would only last a year outside the mirror, he could store them in the mirror’s dimension and summon them whenever needed. If he ever faced an ultimate-rank knight or beast, he could simply summon thousands of super-rank knights! He wasn’t entirely sure how wide the power gap was between super-rank and ultimate-rank, but it didn’t seem like a qualitative leap—meaning that numbers could tip the balance.
Now, Leo knows how power levels in this world work. From low to high, they are great, silver, golden, heavenly, legendary, mythic, ultra, super, ultimate, and absolute; his super knight is equally powerful as a rank 8 magician!
Without further hesitation, Leo decided to test the mirror’s power. He approached his summoned super knight, who stood silently awaiting his orders, and activated the mirror’s skill. Instantly, another knight materialized, identical to the original. The new knight bowed and said, “My lord!”
The original super knight, visibly surprised, also bowed, exclaiming, “My lord’s magic powers are endless!”
“Hmm, what if I copied Isabella?” Leo thought mischievously, imagining how interesting it would be to have several of her to entertain him. But he quickly reconsidered. The mirror allowed only ten reflections per day, each slot precious and best reserved for super-level assets. Copying the Soul Breaker Sword was out of the question; even he was wary of having too many of those in circulation; after all, they could bypass all defences and strike the soul. Thus, the most practical strategy was clear: steady daily duplication of super knights.
Feeling pleased with his plan, he glanced at his system panel.
