Hunter X Hunter: Tombbound Power

Chapter 25: 025 They Are So Weak~

But this Initiation calculation is not worth mentioning to Ronnel, let alone~~~

"Who is Initiating and who is not sure~"

Ronnel didn't care about the atmosphere at all and walked directly toward the registration area.

While filling out the contestant form, Ronnel noticed that he was being targeted by several individuals.

Three guys, dressed strangely, huddled in the corner of the wall, smirking silently as they watched Ronnel and Shizuku register.

"Are there two newcomers? It just so happens our duel date is approaching. It's really a pie falling from the sky~"

Sensing the gaze, Shizuku turned her head and saw the three, clearly not the best of people, and blinked her large eyes.

"Don't pay attention to them. They're just a group of weak Nen users—crippled both physically and mentally in the practice of Nen."

Even after Shizuku finished filling out her form, Ronnel remarked indifferently.

A similar situation occurred in the original story.

The guy who's been stuck on the 200th floor of Heavens Arena for years, whose strength is at the bottom, can only use underhanded methods to survive against newcomers who barely understand anything.

The rookies fight to win, just to maintain their lives in Heavens Arena.

"Tsk tsk tsk, this isn't the attitude of newcomers talking to seniors. You seem capable of using Nen as well. Do you want to compete with us? As your seniors, we'll be very gentle and teach you the essence of Nen firsthand."

The trio scrutinized Ronnel and Shizuku, noticing only a thin aura of Nen surrounding them, and spoke with feigned kindness.

Their tone resembled that of a hunter eyeing its prey.

They briefly considered whether Ronnel might be concealing his strength, but~~~

A boy who looks no older than sixteen or seventeen, and a cute girl who seemed more clueless than formidable.

No matter how they looked at it, these two didn't seem particularly strong.

Even if their Nen was better developed than the trio's, the duel between Nen users isn't only about raw strength—it also depends on abilities, experience, and strategy. What sort of cunning could a greenhorn like this possibly possess?

As the trio approached, with smug confidence as if they had already devoured their prey, the spinning top man in a bright red mask, the masked man with sleeves fluttering in the breeze, and the guy in an electric eel wheelchair, Ronnel casually spoke:

"Sure, I'll fight. But it's only me, and I can't take on all three of you at once. Why don't you decide who'll face me?"

"Kid, you've got guts. Are you trying to sow discord between us? Too bad for you, our bond is stronger than you think. We'll fight you together, and you have no right to refuse."

Ronnel looked at the trio, a little speechless.

You guys are overthinking this. I'm just stating facts. It seems like after Initiation, your brains don't work too well anymore.

"Can I take the first round? I want to teach this arrogant kid a lesson," the spinning top man, supporting himself with an iron rod in one hand, spoke grimly.

"Go ahead, Gido. Just remember not to kill him. We still need him for our record."

With their decision made, the trio left with dark, ominous grins.

"It's really bleak. Is this what happens when Initiation fails? They barely survived and awakened Nen, but their strength is pitiful. Their auras are full of holes, like balloons ready to pop."

Watching the trio leave, Ronnel shook his head.

"They're so weak," even Shizuku commented.

Well~ despite their lack of power, even small prey is still prey. At least their Nen is somewhat pure.

As for their abilities…

A spinning top, an invisible left hand, an electric eel…

Forget it. There's nothing worth mentioning.

Based on the timeline, all three of them underwent Initiation this past April. Though they managed to activate Nen, they're physically disabled.

Gido, the spinning top, and Riehlvelt, the electric eel, are both paralyzed from the waist down, relying on a wooden cane and a large big wheeled motorized wheelchair for movement. The masked man, Sadaso, lost both arms.

It's pretty tragic, but as the saying goes, there's always something to despise about pitiful people, and that applies to them.

Their failed Initiation left them twisted, scheming against every newcomer, without the slightest regret for their downfall.

By the way, if this is 1997, earlier this year Hisoka fought Kastro. Kastro suffered a devastating defeat, retired for two years, and then returned for a rematch with Hisoka, only to be killed by him with playing cards…

Another tragic soul—looks like we won't see that one for a while.

After completing their registration, Ronnel and Shizuku headed back to their new room.

On the 200th floor, challengers are granted luxurious private rooms. There's no prize money, but the accommodations are top-tier.

Soon after, Ronnel received a call from Heavens Arena, confirming his fight with Gido.

It's set for tomorrow. That's fine—there's plenty of time.
