Hunter X Hunter [BL]

Chapter 32: Testing x Techniques x Free

The landscape rushed in a blur as Gon and Killua returned to the city. "Gon, wait. Stop. We're far enough," Killua shouted at Gon. "What are you talking about, Killua? Jett could be in danger. We have to hurry," Gon said without stopping.

"We have no idea where he is. How are you going to find him?" Killua said, trying to make Gon reason. When he saw that Gon was still running without stopping, he continued, "Gon, at this rate, you're going to tire yourself out, and you won't be able to help Jett," Killua said.

"What's wrong with you? Why aren't you worried about Jett? You're his friend, aren't you?" Gon suddenly stops and shouts at Killua. Gon's outburst took Killua by surprise. "Of course, I'm worried about Jett, but I know Jett won't die that easily; he's the one who taught us how to move faster than others with just one step. He taught you moves that could punch with enough force to destroy a building. Do you think Jett that could be defeated?" Killua shouted at Gon, who was not thinking right. "We only escaped from the troupe's hands because we took them off guard. We were fast, sure, but they have more experience controlling their Nen; all they had to do was stay behind us and wait for us to tire out," Killua reasoned with Gon.

Killua could see the frustration on Gon's face. He could see he wanted to say something but stopped himself. Gon took a deep breath and calmed down. "You're right, Killua. Jett won't die that easily. I'm glad to have you at my side," Gon said with a big smile. "What should we do?" Gon asked after a while.

Killua was taken aback by what Gon said but quickly composed himself. "First, we need to find a way to contact Jett or Leorio. He was also with Jett, remember?" Killua said. "We also need to contact Jess. She was supposed to be watching from afar, but she didn't contact us or make a move; maybe she betrayed us," Killua said, killing intent, intentionally sipping out from his Nen. Gon also frowns at the thought. He remembered what she had said to Jess back in Whale Island: she would kill her if she did something to Jett.

Gon also couldn't help but worry even more about Jett after Killua mentioned Jess. She was their support, but she hadn't tried to contact them. "How do we contact them? They took our phones," Gon said.

"First, we need to get into the city," Killua began, but a mocking laugh suddenly reached his and Gon's ears.

"He-He, Now-Now I can't let you go and do that. I don't know how you escaped from the spider, but I can't let you go and ruin our plan. However, I'm still happy I get to kill you myself," Zark said; he had been waiting for Gon and Killua. He didn't think they could escape from the spider, but now he was happy they did. He had been waiting for them just like he and Orkis had planned; when Zark saw a dust cloud coming his way, he didn't know who it was but moved to intercept. If it wasn't his target, he could have stayed hidden, but when he came closer, he saw that it was the kids.

"Have you two ever played The Kings Game," Zark said.

"Who are you?" Killua said, taking a fighting stance; Gon also did the same.

"You don't know? One person is the King, and the others must follow his orders; if he can't, they get punished, " Zark explained the game. It was part of his hatsu; to activate his Hatsu, he needed to clarify the point of the game to his Hatsu. It was the first condition, and the second condition was up to his opponent.

"Gon, wait, don't say anything. " Killua tried to stop Gon from saying anything. He listened to the older man when he explained the King's Game. Hatsu's abilities had conditions, and the guy before him kept explaining the King's Game. However, Killua was too late, and Gon was too impulsive.

"We don't want to play a game with you, old man; where is Jett!?" As Gon finishes shouting, the man in front of them laughs at Gon and Killua and gives them a triumphant smile as if he had already won. Gon had already figured out that the older man before him had something to do with what was happening with Jett.

"The King orders you to punch that boy," Zark said, his Hatsu already activated. He orders Killua to punch Gon. Killua felt his body move independently; although his body moved independently, Killua could break free at any moment but was worried about the punishment. If the man's Hatsu follows the rules, he can choose anything as the punishment. It was only punching Gon, and Gon could move, but Zark continued at that moment, "You, the King, Order you not to move," Zark ordered. If Jett had been there, he would have called it the Simon Says game instead of the King's Game.

Gon felt a force stopping him from moving; he also thought he could break free, and unlike Killua, Gon didn't care. As Killua was about to punch him, he dodged. "Gon, you idiot!" Killua shouted. "Is okay, Killua. We must know what happens if we don't follow the rules," Gon said. Killua now really wanted to punch Gon. How could he dodge when he didn't know what could happen? To Killua's relief, nothing happened to Gon. Well, that wasn't true. A number one appeared on Gon's forehead.

"What's that?" Killua shouted. "What is it? Killua," Gon, seeing Killua's shocked face, asked what had happened. Killua didn't answer; instead, he turned to shout at the man, "What did you do to Gon?!" he shouted, but the man only smirked at him.

"Now, don't worry. It's all a game. We have to play to the end, but I will let you know; you don't want the number to reach Ten, "Zark said. "Damn it, tell me what you did to Gon?" Killua shouted.

"You're getting annoying, brat; the King Orders you can't speak," Zack said. Killua was about to say more but found himself without a voice the next second. "Killua, are you okay?" Gon asked Killua, noticing that Killua was silent. Killua just nodded at Gon and charged at the guy the next second. He saw that he had to speak to give an order, so he had to stop him.

"Hehehe, come on, let's enjoy the fight. I want to see you struggle for your life," Zark kept mocking. He could see the boy Killua trying to figure out how his Hatsu worked. However, his Hatsu was simple; it only involved commanding and giving orders. He could command them only after they refused ten orders, and they would never be able to freak free. He could even make them kill all their family, and they would not be able to stop. He couldn't wait.

Zark didn't give any more orders for the next few minutes; he wanted to test the strength of the two kids before him. He was sadistic but wasn't a fool; he knew how to think. If the two children in front of him were stronger than him and defeated him before he could make them refuse ten orders, then it would all be for nothing.

Jett's training is shown in the fight between Gon and Killua against Zark. The flash step also showed Its supremacy in a fight; the Hunter x Hunter world was already dangerous enough with all the different Nen abilities; some could even strip others of their Nen abilities, like the leader of the Phantom Troupe. Yet, while they had martial arts, they didn't seem to incorporate them into Nen fighting. The fighting style from Biscuit was good, but if you add fighting techniques from other worlds, Nen's fights become more dangerous, as shown in Gon and Killua's fighting.

If it weren't for his experience, the two kids he was fighting, Zark would have lost to the two kids; their punches were dangerous, and each time he tried to attack, they would appear in another location, sometimes in his blind spot. He was having a hard time dealing with their speed; if it weren't for his ability to use En, he wouldn't be able to predict their moments. Zark was sweating but wasn't worried; he still hadn't used his Hatsu, but now he was done testing.

Killua was also thinking the same thing. Gon frowned, and he didn't have any clue as to why he was still on guard. 'He hasn't used his Hatsu, his testing out experience in fighting,' Killua concluded. Gon was becoming more frustrated; he didn't want to waste time fighting with the guy. He tried to end it quickly and find Jett; however, each time he tried to land a punch on the man, he would dodge at the last minute.

'Gon, you may not be the smartest, but you sure are a genius at fighting,' Gon remembers a time when training with Jett.

'What do you mean, I'm smart!' Gon said indignantly.

'I think his assessment is spot on,' Killua had quipped from the side while agreeing with Jett's statement. 'Yeah, you're smart but not book smart,' Jett added. Killua laughed at Gon after Jett said that, starting a fight between him and Killua, involving Jett in their fight a second later; after having fun, Gon asked Jett what he had meant. While he didn't know what Jett meant by that, he felt a sense of warmth after Jett complimented him.

'What I mean is that you don't fight with your head. Your fighting style is more of an instinct. While you incorporate a few strategies, they are simple, but those are the ones that work better for you,' Jett told him.

As those thoughts entered Gon's mind, He kicked Zark on the chin with his right leg, his left leg touching the ground in flexibility gymnastics. Zark grabs Gon's leg, intending to slam him to the ground. 'Just let my body act,' Gon thought. His body moved at lightning speed, his legs and weight bringing down Zark's hand, moving him off balance and making his upper body tilt forward. As the foot Zark was holding touched the ground, his other food lifted into the air, his Nen gathering on his foot. He was about to land a hit on Zark's head, but he failed. "You can't move your legs," Zark commanded.

Instantly, Zark moved, breaking free from Gon's attack. Gon was going to break free from control, but Zark acted first before he could act. He elbowed Gon on the ribs and followed with a Nen punch to Gon's stomach. "Gon!" Killua shouted from the side. He was about to move when Gon broke Zark's move, seeing an opportunity, but everything happened instantly.

Killua couldn't reach Gon in time, which also gave Zark the chance to attack Killua. Zark, in the same momentum, attacked Killua with a kick to the face; Zark sent Killua and Gon flying; in mid-air, they quickly steadied their center of gravity and grounded themselves, their shoes grinding on the floor.

"You guys have a good base. You two could have become powerful in the future," Zark said, making it sound like a compliment; his following words, however, sent a chill down Killua and Gon's spine. Zark had not used any killing intent on his Nen when he first encountered Gon and Killua, but now they could feel his malice. "I love killing prospects the most; killing people with talent makes me incredibly happy," a dark aura radiated from his body as he said.

'Run, Kill, he stronger, you need to run,' Killua heard his brother's voice. 'You will die if you confront him; you need to run,' the voice kept getting louder, telling him to run away from a stronger opponent.

"Gon...we need to run..." Killua was about to say something when a shout from Gon snapped him back to the fight.

"Ah!" with a shout, Gon flared his Ren. He could also feel Zark's murderous intent, but in his mind, saving Jett was more important; his fear was secondary.

'Why was I about to run? Sure, his Hatsu is strong and could stop us at any moment, but we can break free; breaking free only gives you a number. He also hinted that it had to reach Ten for something to happen. It could be a lie, but it could also be true,' Killua questioned himself. Why had he wanted to run? Their fight was brutal, but it wasn't like they were at a disadvantage.

'Is two against one? Breaking free could land a killing blow; we only had to take him by surprise, so why do I want to run?' Killua analyzes the fight based on his and Gon's fighting experience, but he also knows that Nen battles can be finished instantly, depending on the individual abilities.

Killua recalls every encounter he has had against strong opponents. He realizes that his brother's voice always shows up in those instances. He then recalls his brother's way of fighting, and a sudden realization dawns on him: Was he being controlled?

"He-he-he," Killua let out a small chuckle, not one of happiness but one of self-mockery. Allumi had controlled him since he was a child to be afraid of those who had awakened their Nen. As he channeled and passed his Nen through his body, he found another source of Nen that was minuscule and hard to notice if you weren't actively searching, yet it was so close to his brain that it could influence your behavior.

Transforming his hand, Killua pushed his middle and thumb at the center of his forehead. "Killua!" Gon shouted, thinking the guy had done something to him. "Don't worry, Gon. My mind is incredibly clear right now. Let's take this old man down." Gon could feel Killua was different, giving him a reassuring sense of confidence.
