Chapter 04 – Trip 01.
[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
London.
...
...
As Snape began to walk through the city of London, the air was fresh with the scent of impending rain. The boy looked around with curiosity, observing the non-magical world, or "Muggle," as wizards disdainfully called it. The buildings, with their architecture ranging from ancient to modern, the busy streets filled with cars buzzing like metallic insects, and people walking to their work, with their family, or making some purchases in the shops.
It didn't take long for Lucius to arrive; it was a large structure next to the bus station with some of the country's iconic buses parked alongside, waiting for their departure times. After looking around with a bit of curiosity, Snape finally enters the agency, approaching a young and pretty woman standing at one of the desks.
"Hello, what can I do for you, young man?" She asked with a smile.
"I want the travel catalog from tonight, can you give it to me?" Snape asks, keeping his calm for the woman.
"Sorry, but I will have to see your ID, we can't sell tickets to minors." She said, looking at him.
"Will this suffice?" Snape took out a Hogwarts crest he had in his bag, it worked to activate various services in the non-magical world without restrictions, and if Snape was right, some travel agencies might accept it.
The woman's eyes widened when she saw the symbol, and she quickly stood up. "Wait a moment, sir, I will talk to the manager." She said hurriedly as she left the area for a closed room.
Snape just sighed, but in less than 3 minutes, a middle-aged man came out with the woman, and he looked at Snape cautiously.
"Young Wizard, my employee told me you have the magical student crest, what can we do for you?" He spoke, still with a tone of caution, it seems it wasn't the first time he dealt with a wizard.
"I want all your available trips for today and, if possible, I would like accommodation for my destination, I have no preference, but I would like to see the catalog." Snape says, and the man quickly grabs a pamphlet and starts marking all the trips with time.
Snape takes the pamphlet and begins to look at the advertisements for the places, there was one traveling to the country's west coast that he ended up being interested in, "Can you get accommodation there? I need a cottage."
"Yes, young wizard, we can do that, I will register you for the trip and we will make the reservation while you travel, what is the payment method?" He asked with a sparkle in his eyes.
"It will be in wizarding money, do you accept that?"
"Certainly, young wizard, that is fantastic, I will finalize your registration, the bus will leave in 1 hour. Good luck!" He seemed excited as he left.
Snape sat in a corner, while the woman now looked at him cautiously with embarrassment, but Snape didn't care about her as he was still in his own world.
He ended up falling asleep, memories of gunfire, sounds of explosions, seeing guardians being killed in front of him, the betrayal of the heirs, this started to repeat in his mind like an avalanche.
With a surprising touch on his shoulder as he woke up from it, he quickly grabbed the hand that touched him and pulled it aside while drawing his wand and placing it on the person's neck as if it were a dagger, which he instinctively thought it would be.
He looked at the potential aggressor and saw the man who had attended him before, many people from the agency stopped to watch this, and the young woman from before was horrified with her hand over her mouth while the man looked pale.
Snape released the man with a sigh. "Sorry about that, I was dreaming, and it was instinct."
"It's-It's okay..." He stammered nervously while looking at Snape storing the wand with quite a bit of fear, "I came to deliver your papers and charge for your trip." He said still quite nervous.
Snape took the paper and saw how much he owed, with his hand, he quickly gathered the coins and handed them to the man. "Is the bus already leaving?" He asked.
"Yes, young wizard, you can go to the bus." He said.
Snape nodded and quickly grabbed a newspaper from the agency's stand and went to the bus station where his bus was, with everyone from the agency watching him. He entered the bus with just a few people and went to the back seats, sitting a bit isolated.
He sat down, opened the newspaper, and began to flip through the pages, passing by news about recent events in the non-magical world, it was 1976.
The front page highlighted the technological advances that marked the era. "Personal Computers: The Future in Our Hands," read one headline. It described how pioneering companies were beginning to develop computers that, one day, could fit inside the homes of ordinary people, a notion that would have been considered fantasy not too long ago. Snape, with Morou's knowledge, couldn't help but marvel at how significant this step was for Muggle humanity. Magic had its wonders, but there was something deeply impressive about the Muggle quest for knowledge and innovation.
"This is so primitive..." Morou wanted to cry within Snape.
Turning the page, he encountered news about conflicts and political tensions plaguing different parts of the world. One section detailed the situation in South Africa, where apartheid imposed brutal and violent segregation, and another talked about the Cold War, still a menacing shadow over global peace.
"How can wizards despise Muggles? They might be primitive in my view, but they certainly have weaponry to blow up all of Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic along with the entire magical England, Voldemort and his groups would die within seconds..." Snape couldn't help but comment to himself.
He also read about the Viking mission to Mars, which had sent probes to explore the red planet, and about the growing environmental awareness, highlighting the need to protect planet Earth from pollution and resource depletion.
"They are still sending probes into space, I won't be able to leave this planet until the end of my life..." He lamented and looked at the second headline. "Resource depletion can be solved with technological advancement... I find it quite bold to say that the planet is in danger for the human race."
Finally, Snape closed the newspaper and looked up at the sky, waiting for the bus to finally move, since it was the only thing that could relieve him, the newspaper didn't help much.
Then the engine started, and he finally felt it moving as the bus left the station. Through the window, Snape observed with keen eyes the transition from urban to rural landscapes. London was slowly fading away, the sounds of cars and people giving way to the tranquility of the English countryside.
As the bus took the highway towards the western rural area, the calm of a guardian was present in Snape. But in his mind, the same question was always heard in its entirety, pondering about the purpose of his presence there in the body of a young man who had already lost his life. "Why here, why now?" he questioned internally. But the answer never came.
The external landscape, now a blur of greens under the mid-afternoon sun, Snape looked at the English fields with a tired look but ended up enjoying the view of nature on this planet, since green planets were his favorites on his missions.
Shifting his attention away from the window a bit, he picked up the book he had recovered from Lily Evans. Morou, with his experience as a Guardian, since he had spent years of his life learning about chemical compositions and this involved technological medicines, combined with Snape's knowledge of potions, he could simply revolutionize the wizarding world. He could combine advanced knowledge.
He flipped through the book, stopping at specific annotations that caught his attention. Some of the formulas and theories written by Snape were innovative on their own, but Morou began to see ways to further enhance them. He took a piece of parchment and a quill from his pocket and began to make his own annotations, adding insights and modifications to the original recipes.
Morou was particularly interested in potions that could be useful in healing or combat situations, areas in which, as a Guardian, he had a special interest. As the bus continued its journey, Morou lost himself in a world of alchemy and potions while writing, and the hours would pass until the sunset began to appear on the horizon of the fields.
"I think that's enough for today..." Snape commented as he closed the books and turned his attention back to the window as night gave way to day. He didn't even realize that he slowly began to close his eyes, perhaps due to the weak body or the whole situation, he simply let himself enter the world of dreams again, but not expecting his last moments from the other life to emerge again, but not always, wanting is being able to.
Once again, visions of the betrayal of the heirs, him killing robots and high-tech soldiers, ships exploding the temple, sounds of gunfire, and his daggers cutting through bullets and enemies, the stolen rings, and the portals that the heirs created with their newfound powers as their appearances became more and more like those of the ancient monarchs, which the guardians had done everything to prevent from returning, and all was in vain, the war was coming, and Snape knew that this planet could very well get involved in it as well.
With a start, Snape woke up again, he looked around to find out why he was hearing an alarm sound, above his head a huge screen was activating a punishment.
He had not completed the daily challenges and had even completely forgotten about them in front of this world.
[The host did not complete the daily challenges, system punishment begins in 10 seconds! 9, 8, 7...]
"Hey hey, what is this?!" He spoke out loud, nobody on the bus seemed to hear him while they slept peacefully with a loud sound that only Snape seemed to hear.
"3 seconds... what's going to happen?" He murmured, preparing his wand, since it was the only thing he had missed from his daggers, Erza, and Mirajane.
Before he could react or formulate a plan, Morou felt a sudden change in the environment around him. He was on the bus, in a seat near the window, but suddenly, the colors and sounds around him began to distort in a surreal manner. It was as if the reality around him was unfolding and reconstructing in a completely different way.
The interior of the bus seemed to stretch and distort, the sound of the engine echoed strangely, and the colors merged into patterns that defied logic. Morou felt his stomach churn with the sensation of displacement. He gripped the seat firmly, trying to stay calm as he faced this disconcerting experience.
For a moment, Morou had the sensation of being transported to another place, or perhaps to another dimension. He remembered the stories of magical and interdimensional travels he had read, but none of this compared to the reality of what he was experiencing.
Finally, after a few seconds that seemed an eternity, everything stabilized. Morou opened his eyes, a bit dizzy, and realized he was no longer on the bus; he had fallen a few meters into hot sand and quickly stood up, looking around, where it was no longer night and there was only sand all around, wondering what was happening and how he had ended up there.
"What's happening?! Is this the system's punishment?" He asked quite dazed, as he assessed the situation.
He thought about taking off his wizard's cloak because of the heat, but it would be worse due to the sun's contact with the skin, he looked for his dimensional bag, but it was not with him either, which made him even more frustrated.
"How do I get out of here and am I still on the planet?" He wondered, but only received the silent desert as an answer.
As Snape began to walk through the desert, trying to come up with a survival plan, a disturbance in the sand caught his attention. Initially, he thought it might just be the wind shaping the dunes, but quickly realized it was something far more menacing.
Emerging from the desert sands, a colossal serpent appeared. The creature was immense, easily over 100 meters in length, with shimmering scales that reflected the merciless desert sun. Its eyes, cold and calculating, fixed on Snape, and with an agile movement that defied its enormous size, the serpent advanced to attack him.
"Is this a Sambulyt from the planet Curtyn?" Snape commented, recalling memories from another life, where desert serpents from that planet looked similar, but a bit different.
"I thought they weren't carnivorous, why is it looking at me in such a strange way, as if I were its prey?" Snape couldn't help but comment.
Before he could react, a new screen appeared.
[System Punishment, Survive the desert serpent for 4 hours. Started: 3:59:59.]
"Damn it." Snape cursed, looking at the monster.
