Chapter 216.1
* * *
“Hey Leticia, you’re already out?”
Leticia, who had just kicked her way out of the underground prison, saw Misa lingering in front of the cell.
“I was worried and waiting for you. Are you hurt anywhere? Let’s go home.”
Instead of replying, Leticia rushed towards Misa, pressing a blade to her throat.
Misa’s eyes trembled.
“Lee…?”
Leticia spoke.
“I’ve figured it out.”
“Figured what out?”
“Come to think of it, I received two bronze beads as a gift. Yes, magic like this wretched curse always needs a conduit. So, the bronze bead was the conduit, the way you could operate inside my head.”
Leticia touched her chin and nodded.
“And the reason you invaded my dreams to interrogate me is…”
Leticia’s lips curled into a sneer.
“It was to find ‘something hidden in my head’ by Doctor Siebel, wasn’t it?”
“Lee, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Why are you doing this? Put down the knife.”
“Misa.”
Rather than lowering the knife at her words, she pressed the blade closer.
“I don’t have a friend named Misa.”
Leticia said.
“Your actions remind me of someone. Walter, my childhood friend who was used and killed by Siebel.”
“…”
“You’re imitating him.”
A smile slowly faded from Misa’s lips.
“Normally, a magic bullet gun would be fitting between us, but unfortunately, there isn’t one here?”
“What do you want?”
Misa asked slowly.
“Shh, the act is over.”
Leticia said, showing the bronze bead in her hand.
“Misa.”
Leticia smirked.
“Nigel.”
To be precise, Vince and Misa. Nigel.
“Playing three roles is a first, isn’t it?”
The smile on Misa’s face slowly faded.
“Ah.”
Misa’s facial expression became momentarily blank, just like a mask without any features.
Then, Misa’s features slowly transformed into those of Nigel.
‘Doctor Siebel’s favorite student, and the escaped prisoner, Nigel.’
Leticia stared at her.
Nigel gave a crooked smile.
“You caught me? Indeed, an honor student is different. Wow- impressive.”
“Thanks. It reminded me of what that bastard, Doctor Siebel, planted in my head. Now, I’ve said my piece… there’s no need to talk any longer, right?”
Leticia drew her dagger. Before she could scream, Misa, or rather Nigel, fell backwards.
Leticia saw her, with Nigel’s face but wearing Misa’s clothes, fade away.
And in her place, a single bronze bead remained.
“Two beads.”
Leticia picked up the beads.
“These were the conduits that trapped me in this world.”
And then, Leticia crushed both beads on the floor in one go.
Bang!
As the beads turned to dust and shattered, a flash appeared before Leticia’s eyes.
