How Am I Gonna Survive In This Apocalypse

Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2

Keroli quickly got up from the sofa, but his body was trembling after seeing that skinwalker in front of him.

Liam was standing behind him. This meant that the skinwalker would eat him first. That thought kept running through Keroli's mind.

Without thinking twice, he stood up. When Keroli looked around, he saw a flowerpot on the table in front of him. He quickly picked it up and threw it at the skinwalker.

As soon as the flowerpot hit the skinwalker's body, the creature became angrier. Keroli shouted loudly,

"Liam, throw whatever you can get your hands on at that skinwalker!"

After hearing Keroli, Liam started throwing everything he could find at the skinwalker, and Keroli did the same.

Thanks to their strong attacks, the skinwalker couldn't enter the house. Then Keroli took a few steps back, grabbed the TV, and ran toward the skinwalker.

Their TV was small , but still, he slammed it into the skinwalker with both hands.

He didn't know whether he had done the right thing or not, or if that attack would even harm the creature, but he took the chance.

The monster was standing right in front of Keroli. "I could see my death in its eyes," Keroli mumbled to himself.

The skinwalker had probably become even angrier because Keroli had hit it with the TV. It struck the creature hard, and now the skinwalker began moving, shouting before attacking.

Keroli started looking around desperately for something to defend himself. Then he saw a carpet hanging out to dry.

Keroli quickly grabbed the carpet and threw it over the skinwalker's face, trying to push it down. The carpet was sticky, so it stuck to the skinwalker's face.

But Keroli didn't have enough strength to push the skinwalker down by himself, so he called for Liam's help.

However, Liam wasn't moving from his spot, and the skinwalker, unable to see because of the carpet, started stumbling. Its balance was disturbed, and it fell straight down.

As soon as the skinwalker fell, Keroli quickly glanced down. But the creature wasn't hurt much from the fall.

It stood up again and started moving around. Keroli quickly ran inside the house and locked the door behind him.

Keroli was angry at Liam for not helping him during the fight.

He had been struggling alone against the skinwalker, and when he called Liam for help, he didn't respond.

Keroli could understand that Liam must have been scared, but his mind was telling him otherwise: If Liam were in my place, I would have definitely helped him without a second thought.

But still, Keroli didn't complain to Liam about it.

"Liam, staying at home is not safe for us. We need to find a safe place where that skinwalker can't reach us," Keroli said.

He had seen in movies that when something like this happens in a country, the military sets up safe camps to protect people.

So he thought if they could reach one of those camps, maybe they could survive.

"Liam, go and pack your bags. Fill them with everything we might need. We're leaving now."

Liam quickly went to pack his bag. Keroli also packed his charger, laptop, food items, and a knife.

After locking the house from the outside, they began heading down the stairs.

Keroli knew that there were probably more skinwalkers out there, and going down in the elevator wouldn't be safe.

So they decided to take the stairs, but with every step, Keroli felt as though someone might jump out from below.

He was holding a baseball bat for protection, while Liam had a knife and followed behind him.

They slowly made their way down the stairs, but as soon as they reached the sixth floor, something strange happened.

The lights suddenly went out, and it became pitch dark.

As soon as the darkness surrounded them, Keroli's heart began to race, and his body froze, expecting an attack. He called out to Liam, but there was no reply.

Keroli was about to turn on his phone's flashlight when someone slapped it from his hand, sending it flying. Sweat started to drip from his forehead.

He was unsure whether he should move forward or stay in place because Liam wasn't responding to him. He began to feel a strange sensation in his stomach.

There was no sound from the skinwalkers, which was odd. The skinwalkers Keroli had seen before always made noise and chased after anyone who shouted.

But now, everything was eerily silent. Then Keroli heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

He didn't hear anything else except those footsteps. In a panic, Keroli tried to hurry down the stairs, but his foot slipped, and he tumbled down.

As he was about to get up, he saw a light coming down the stairs toward him. Thinking it was Liam, Keroli started to get up.

But as the light approached, he realized it wasn't Liam. It was a different person, someone who had been following them.

The stranger helped Keroli to his feet and picked up his fallen phone and bag.

"Are you okay?" the man asked as he handed Keroli his things. As the phone's light turned back on, Keroli could see the man clearly.

He was quite good-looking, with black hair and fair skin. His body was larger than Keroli's, with broad shoulders and a sharp jawline that seemed to glow, like he worked out.

Keroli was momentarily lost in his appearance when he suddenly realized Liam was nowhere to be seen.

Keroli searched frantically, but there was no sign of Liam. It seemed as though he had disappeared.

His bag wasn't on the ground either, which meant the skinwalkers hadn't attacked him.

"So, did he just leave me alone in the dark?" Keroli muttered to himself. Hearing this, the stranger asked, "What did you say?"

"Did you see another guy named Liam?" Keroli asked.

"No, I didn't see anyone else around," the stranger replied, looking around.

Keroli felt a wave of worry wash over him. Where did Liam go? Did he go back home? He don't care what happens, but nothing should happen to Liam.

Keroli rushed back to their apartment, but as he was about to open the door, he heard the unmistakable sound of skinwalkers inside. They had entered their apartment.

It was a relief they had left when they did, but Keroli hesitated for a moment, wondering if Liam might be inside.

Just then, he heard a voice behind him: "Maybe your friend isn't inside. I saw the elevator go down to the parking lot. Maybe he's in the elevator."

Hearing this, Keroli ran down the stairs, and the stranger followed.

As they reached the parking lot, Keroli saw Liam starting his car. When Liam saw Keroli running toward him, he started driving away.

Keroli shouted at Liam to stop, to let him in, but Liam ignored him and sped off.

Keroli chased after the car, but he stumbled and fell. My friend betrayed me.

The stranger caught up to Keroli and offered him a hand to help him up.

As Keroli grabbed the man's hand, he asked, "What's your name?"

The stranger looked at him calmly and said, "Helek. And you?"

Keroli paused for a moment, thinking the name sounded strange, but he didn't comment. "Call me Keroli."

After a brief glance around, Helek said, "I think we should leave this building as soon as possible."

Keroli agreed. "Yes."

They went back to the first floor and started looking out from the main entrance.

Helek grabbed Keroli's hand and began walking ahead of him, scanning the area for any approaching danger.

As soon as they stepped outside, Helek pulled out a set of car keys from his pocket. Keroli was stunned. What is this? Helek has a car? Why didn't he tell me about it?
