Chapter 51: Timeskip
[Dragonstone, Two Years Later]
(Baelon's POV)
"We have to be up, Baelon...." I heard Helaena's voice
"Just a little longer....." I murmured as I laid there, my eyes closed, "Just five more minutes...."
"Okay..." She said softly
I felt that she was on top of me, one of my arms wrapped around her as we both were on the bed, asleep.
She shifted her head on my chest, the warmth of her body was a pleasant feeling, "We should definitely be up right now...." She said after a few seconds of silence, "Father is coming today...."
"Ah...." I opened my eyes, "Fine...."
I looked at her, she was opening her eyes as well. She then looked at me as I held her in my arms, her groggy eyes were still as beautiful as always.
"I think our breakfast should be ready by now too..." She said
I patted her cheek, "Mhm." I said, "As always, every morrow it is a blessing to wake up next to you....or in this case...under you, hehe."
She blushed slightly, "S-Stop it..."
I stretched my other arm, "Man..." I said, "That was good sleep, though. How was it for you?"
"It was great." She said as she rolled off me, "I enjoyed it."
"Right." I said as I sat up and began to rub my eye, "So, our Parents are coming today? What did they want this time?"
"I don't know." She said, "But we should be ready to greet them."
"Yea...." I said as I scratched my cheek
She got off from bed, "I will change now..." She said, "I expect to see you at the table."
I nodded, "Sure." I said, "I will go to the dragonmont and check on the dragons."
"Very well." She said softly as she walked across the room
I looked at her, she was wearing the white and black robes that Daemon gifted to us on our wedding day. Her beautiful white hair was let loose and was draped over her shoulders. Even from behind, she was a lovely sight.
I couldn't help but smile, "Hm." I said softly before getting out of bed
It had been two years since Helaena and I got married and moved into Dragonstone. Things were good, the Realm was in a state of peace ever since the whole incident happened. Everyone got back to their lives and since then, nothing major happened. The only reason it happened this way was because I did not pursue anything further.
Our sister left Dragonstone and moved to Claw Isle with her husband. In the meantime, she was being built a keep somewhere on the Crownlands. I have not seen her ever since that day and I never planned on even interacting with her. A lot has happened since then; Aegon's wedding was delayed as punishment to House Blackwood but eventually, it happened. Aemond won a Tourney the year prior, both Jousting and Melee, establishing himself as a formidable warrior at such a young age. And Daeron had just started Dragonriding, Tessarion became large enough for him to take her to the skies.
With all of that happening, Helaena and I were living on Dragonstone peacefully. Balerion nested outside of the Dragonmont, on a comfortable spot he had found for himself while Dreamfyre was moved in here.
I stretched my arms as I let out a slight groan, "Alright...." I said,
"Let's go check on the dragons...."
***********
"My sweet children." Mother said as she approached us, "I have missed the two of you."
She reached Helaena and hugged her. My wife could not help but smile warmly, she had definitely missed her. We had been waiting for them on the entrance of the castle, seeing their ship dock from all the way over here. I knew Helaena was excited to expect them, she had been missing them as of late.
Me? Not really, if I wanted to see them that badly, I could always fly to King's Landing. And so could Helaena, if she wanted to. But she was too shy to do so since sometimes, we get too busy to even go.
"It is a good day." Father said as he approached us, "Seeing my beautiful daughter's smile."
As Mother pulled away from Helaena, my sweet wife immediately went to hug Father, "Father...!" She said
"Ah, look at you." Father hugged you, "So grown, so beautiful. I have missed you terribly, my sweet Helaena."
Mother walked up to me, "And you?"
I raised an eyebrow, my hands behind my back, "Me?"
"Did you not miss your Mother?" She asked
"Yes." I said
"And I do not get a hug?" She asked
"Do I have to?" I asked
"If you do not wish to anger her, I suggest you do that." Father chuckled
I sighed, "Fine." I said as I walked forward and hugged Mother, kissing her on the cheek, "There, you happy?"
"This is a start." She said as she walked past me, "We have much to discuss."
I looked back at her as she made her into the castle.
"What did I do?" I asked Father
"It's not what you have done." Father said as she was holding Helaena's hand, "It is what you haven't done. The two of you. But she holds it against Baelon."
"O-Oh...." Helaena said
"Hm." I said as I looked at him, "I see."
"With time." Father smiled at Helaena, "With time, It will happen, no?"
Helaena looked down, "Y-yes...."
"Let us go inside now." Father said with a smile
I nodded, "Yes."

"Your brothers are too busy to come visit." Mother said as we sat on the table, later that day, "But regardless, they miss the two of you."
"Too busy, huh?" I said leaning back, "I would say the same thing but it's awfully quiet these days. Such a big castle."
"You should definitely fill the space out if you know what I mean." Father said with a chuckle
"I miss our brothers too..." Helaena said as she sat next to me, "How is the babe?"
"He's well, little Jaehaerys." Father said with a smile, "Aegon has been delighted for a while now. I am surprised...out of all sons, I did not expect him to be such a mature person, especially a mature Father."
"Right...." I said as I looked away, "Good for him, I suppose."
"With his nameday in the horizon, Aegon wishes to hold a Tourney in his honor." Mother said, "But it is still many months away. Regardless, he wishes for your support, Baelon."
"Sure." I shrugged, "Why wouldn't I?"
"Great!" Father said, "Oh, I am not sure if you have heard. Daeron is now betrothed as well. To one of your Mother's cousins. Well, the daughter of her cousin."
"Ah." I said, "That's great. Interesting, why not one of Daemon's girls?"
"They are already betrothed." Mother said, "Daemon said we took too long and went ahead and promised them to other Lords' sons. But make no mistake, he will make sure they will be eternally grateful."
"Right." I said with a chuckle, "So far, everything has been great, I guess."
"We have heard that you two fly constantly." Father said, "It is good to give your dragons some good exercise."
"Yes...." Helaena said softly, "I enjoy flying on Dreamfyre."
"As you should." Father said with a smile, "You are a dragonrider, my daughter. The blood of the Conqueror runs through your veins."
"Can we expect the two of you to visit King's Landing soon?" Mother asked me, "The people miss their favorite Prince and Princess."
"Sure. Soon." I said with a slight smile
"Good." She said softly, "I have missed the two of you terribly as well."
"I know." I said, "You make that apparent with your letters."
"Well, it would be nice if you respond to them, Baelon." Mother told me, "But that is not the point."
"Yea yea." I said while shrugging
"This is good." Father said, "Us, sitting here like family. All we need is everyone else, including your sister."
I looked away, "Yea, that will not happen." I said seriously, "You can count on that."
"Do not be like that, Baelon." Father said, "The two of you are blood, there is no reason to fight!"
"Mhm." I said
*********
Later that night, after everyone was asleep, including the King and Queen, I was standing next to my wife who held a steaming cup of Moon Tea. This was right after we had gotten intimate, her forehead was glowing due to the sweat, the candle was lit on the cupboard that was next to the bed.
She looked at me with a sad look, "Maybe...." she said, "It is for the best if I don't."
"It is your choice." I said as I looked at her, "I am not forcing you to do either."
She looked down, "I am not ready."
"I understand," I said softly
"I'm sorry...." She said
"Don't be." I said as I patted her head, "Don't be sorry."
I watched as she drank the tea, taking separate sips due to the temperature and gulping down slowly. After a few more seconds, she proceeded to finish it quickly and she wiped her mouth. She placed the cup down on the cupboard and stared at it for several moments, not saying a word.
I sat down next to her and wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her close to me, "I love you." I kissed her on the cheek, "I love you so much."
She looked at me, "I love you too, Baelon." She said softly, "I....."
"I will not force anything on you, my love." I said, "No matter what I have to endure from everyone. I will not force you to do anything. I gave you my word, I intend to keep. If this makes you happy, so be it."
"But I care about your happiness too, Baelon...." she said with a tear running down her cheek
"Shhh..." I said as I wiped that tear away, "Your happiness is my happiness. That's all that matters."
"Why haven't you spoken to her...?" She asked
"You know why." I said as I kissed her on the forehead, "Let us get some sleep, my love. You are tired....after all, you wanted a bit of intimacy tonight..."
"I'm sorry, Baelon...." She said, her voice shaky
"No, Helaena, don't be....." I said as I hugged her, "None of this is your fault....do not break my heart thinking it is....."
"It's okay."
[A/N: Alright, what better way to end the Rotation than in a Timeskip with so many questions left unanswered? Well, I intend to address the Trevor situation after a good chunk of chapters are focused on Helaena and Baelon.
Well, that is it, though. We're going to back to "A God Amongst Men" this week and after, the Rotation will continue on Patreon. I am glad I managed to get this story to 50 chapters at least before doing so.
I will have a separate collection ready for each story so if for some reason you want to check the Patreon out next week to keep up to date with this story just because you cannot wait, well, you can go straight into reading it and not focus on the other content I have there. All of it will be on the Same Tier.
Again, I apologize for this but I hope you can understand]
