"Dr. Tesla, our allies have shared both good news and bad news with us. Which do you want to hear first?"
At Anti-Entropy's Salt Lake Base, Einstein, unusually, engaged in banter with Tesla.
Tesla, sporting prominent dark circles under her eyes, immediately urged upon hearing Einstein's remark, "Mophead, I don't have time for jokes right now. What news is it? Just tell me."
"Alright, the good news is that our pilot has a chance to leave Schicksal Headquarters."
"What? You mean Kiana?" Tesla looked astonished. "No, no way. Why would Otto kindly let her go if she went there?"
It was crucial to remember that Kiana was the daughter of Siegfried, a wanted criminal by Schicksal.
When they learned that Kiana had secretly gone to Schicksal Headquarters, both Einstein and Tesla felt their hearts sink, nearly despairing.
With the ability to control four Cores and wield the Moonlight Throne... such a unique pilot could only be Kiana. In fact, these two doctors were aware of Kiana being k423, as Siegfried had confessed this truth to them.
However, knowing their valuable pilot ventured to Schicksal Headquarters left them deeply concerned about her fate.
But now Tesla hears that Kiana might have a chance to leave Schicksal Headquarters?
"And here comes the bad news."
Einstein spoke with a hint of resignation, "Kiana must first complete the A-rank Valkyrie assessment at Schicksal Headquarters before she can be stationed on Coral Island."
"The A-rank Valkyrie assessment should be quite straightforward, no?"
Anti-Entropy used to be Schicksal's North American branch, and if the assessment standards hadn't changed much over these years, Tesla believed it would indeed remain simple.
"No, the bad news isn't about the A-rank Valkyrie assessment; for Kiana, that's just a matter of time." Einstein shook her head. "Regarding Coral Island, haven't you considered something specific?"
Tesla couldn't help but furrow her brow.
After completing the Moonlight Throne, she had been focusing on researching the Divine Key Jizo Mitama. She recognized that, similar to Siegfried's Judgment of Shamash, Jizo Mitama was another type of weapon, but its precise functions remained unclear.
Every use of a Divine Key imposes strain on the human body. While Tesla refrained from conducting experiments directly on people, even theoretical analysis proved exceedingly challenging.
This explained why she developed dark circles under her eyes recently.
"Coral Island? I've heard that name before, let me think..." She paused momentarily before it struck her with realization. "I remember now! The United Nations and the Stairway to Galaxy."
"Mm-hmm."
Einstein briefly summarized the United Nations' report on the Stairway to Galaxy project.
Tesla couldn't help but scoff, "That's impossible, no matter how you look at it. For starters, there haven't been any breakthroughs in materials science for years. Unless Otto can afford to construct a 25-kilometer-long ladder entirely out of Soulium, this plan is destined for failure." The physics doctor spoke with unwavering certainty.
In truth, anyone with basic knowledge of physics would deem the Stairway to Galaxy project unfeasible, which was why it took two years of deliberation back then.
However, Otto had been incredibly forceful during those times, pushing through the project despite opposition from numerous national representatives.
Upon hearing about it, Tesla even mocked that Otto must have gone senile in his old age.
But seeing Einstein's expression now, she felt a sudden panic grip her. "Hey, hey, hey, mophead, don't tell me Otto actually succeeded?"
"If you're asking specifically about the Stairway to Galaxy Project, of course not."
"But there's another matter Otto is involved with that seems close to success."
Based on the available intelligence, it wasn't difficult to surmise what Otto was planning for Coral Island.
The current Coral Island boasted the most advanced human community ever artificially created, steadily increasing trade volumes, and cutting-edge applications of humanity's latest scientific advancements... Only heaven knew how Otto managed to design Coral Island to be so prosperous.
Tesla quickly connected this scenario to the relationship between human civilization and Honkai.
Her face paled involuntarily. "Mophead, do you mean—?"
"Exactly. A Major Honkai Eruption will undoubtedly strike Coral Island, likely comparable to the one at Nagazora City. And at that time, our pilots will be right in the middle of it."
This news couldn't have been worse.
If Kiana were caught amidst such a catastrophic event, her Herrscher consciousness might awaken—a situation both Tesla and Einstein desperately wanted to avoid. While they were aware of Sirin Project, they had never supported it.
In fact, when Kiana first arrived at Nagazora City, Einstein and Tesla considered bringing her back to Anti-Entropy. However, Theresa acted faster, leaving them no choice but to abandon their plan.
But now, they had no choice but to consider bringing her back.
"Mophead, what should we do?" Tesla was visibly anxious.
Schicksal, with its vast resources, might withstand another Second Honkai Eruption without significant damage, but Anti-Entropy?
"The Coral Island catastrophe was orchestrated by Otto, and even Cocolia couldn't stop it, let alone halt Otto himself," Einstein said grimly. "We must face reality; our leverage is severely limited."
She paused before continuing, "Unless...we can persuade our allies to replicate what Anti-Entropy once attempted."
Despite his panic, Tesla wasn't foolish. "If Kiana were taken against her will, there might be a chance to rally support, but given the current overwhelming power imbalance, it's not a wise move."
"Hmm, that's why I have a backup plan, though it's hardly ideal." She sighed. "Send Cocolia over and inform her about a secret hidden within Coral Island. Although I'm unaware of its nature, Otto wouldn't orchestrate such events for nothing."
Her strategy revolved around turning adversaries against each other.
Tesla expressed concern through furrowed brows, "But Kiana..."
"We'll need Siegfried to accompany her."
This was their last resort.
While Kiana of Schicksal suffers, Xia Chen on Coral Island enjoys a leisurely middle-aged life.
Morning runs, practicing martial arts, fishing, and stewing seafood soup... these activities have become his daily routine.
Occasionally, when time permits, he also enters simulation scenarios.
However, during this period, none of the simulations leave a lasting impression—since Xia Chen's strength has significantly increased, challenges that once seemed daunting now appear trivial.
The rewards remain stingy, typically consisting of Honkai Energy Fragments and a supply crate.
These fragments primarily serve to enhance Stigmata and weapons, with little other use. Interestingly, one supply crate yielded a Colt pistol.
Xia Chen wondered how such a firearm could fit inside a supply crate.
He suspected that as he grew stronger and his desires diminished, the System's rewards became increasingly mediocre. Apart from the valuable Honkai Fragments, which he greatly needed, the rest held little significance.
