Honkai impact: Dimensional Herrscher

Chapter 108: A classic High School encounter

Through the luxurious halls of Chiba Academy, a handsome boy walked among the students.

And this boy was naturally our main character, Adam.

Of course, he was going to class.

Because…. What's better than an overpowered protagonist casually going to school, right after he saved the world and fought so many battles?

Well, in his case, it was indirectly saving a world.

Still, going to Chiba Academy felt… weird.

Even before Adam obtained the Chat Room and his powers, it still felt weird to attend Chiba Academy- a normal school.

After all, this was the honkai world, so what the hell was he doing in a normal school with normal humans?

But well, this is the school that was attended by the three main protagonists of Honkai Impact, so it didn't feel that out of place.

But now….

Adam has built a good relationship with Kiana and Mei, so for what purpose are his legs taking him to class?

Not to mention, he can wipe out Japan out of the face of the planet, and his knowledge is far superior to what any school could possibly impart on his

'Once again, why am I walking to English class??!'

The silver-haired boy sighed.

"Huh?"

He blinked as he noticed something.

Adam's sharp eyes focused on the scene in front of him.

Three girls were surrounding Mei Raiden, with a cruel glint in their eyes.

They had her backed up against the wall, looking down on her with sadistic glee as if they enjoyed watching her squirm.

Mei, usually calm and gentle, looked troubled.

She wasn't making any attempt to fight back.

Adam's blue eyes darkened, his irritation rising.

He hadn't planned on playing the hero today, but this was Mei, the freaking future Herrscher of Thunder and Origin later on.

Even if she didn't have that kind of power right now, it would be easy to take care of just 3 normal girls.

So….

There was no way he would just stand by and watch his friend get bullied.

With an almost lazy sigh, Adam approached the group, his footsteps echoing in the hallway.

He could feel his body filled to the brim with the power he possessed—an overwhelming strength that could easily change the tides of battle, destroy cities, obliterate entire armies, and even erase continents from the map of Earth if used correctly…

- Yet here he was, walking through the halls of a school.

The girls hadn't noticed him yet. They were too focused on their tormenting.

"I always knew you were strange, but what's with the whole 'I'm better than you' act? You are the criminal's daughter, and yet you still have the nerve to act like that?"

One of the girls sneered, poking Mei's shoulder roughly.

"Yeah, just because you hang out with Kiana and Adam doesn't mean you're anything special- in fact, a criminal like you should stay away from them" another added, her voice dripping with jealousy.

Mei stayed silent, her violet eyes slightly downcast, trying not to escalate the situation.

Adam could tell she was holding back.

The other students, oblivious to the fact that they were standing before someone who could go nuclear and unleash the might of the Herrscher of Thunder at any time, were poking a bear without realizing it.

Adam came to a stop behind the three girls, crossing his arms.

"Funny how people like to act tough when they think no one's watching."

He said, voice cold and calm.

The temperature in the hallway seemed to drop as he spoke, a subtle shift in the atmosphere.

The girls froze, turning slowly to see who had interrupted them. When they saw Adam standing there, tall and imposing, their smug expressions faltered.

"A-Adam?" one of them stammered, her confidence quickly draining.

Almost everyone at Chiba Academy knew who Adam was.

He was widely recognized as the 'Prince of Chiba Academy'- courtesy of his handsome appearance, and his exemplary academic performance.

And while he might appear laid-back most of the time, there was always…. Something off about him

Most teachers who rebuked him for his lazy and uncaring behavior once, never bothered him again.

….There are even rumors that those teachers were scolded by the principal herself

In short, he wasn't someone you crossed.

"This doesn't concern you."

The lead girl, however, wasn't backing down just yet.

"We're just having a chat with Mei."

She snapped back at him, though her voice lacked the conviction she had moments ago.

"A 'chat,' huh?" Adam's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in them as his lips thinned. "To me, it looks more like three people ganging up on someone who's done nothing to deserve it."

"You don't know what she's like!" The lead girl took a step back, but still tried to put on a brave face. "She—"

"I don't care"

Adam interrupted, his voice low and threatening now.

His blonde(?) hair seemed to shimmer under the fluorescent lights of the hallway, a stark contrast to the tension that filled the air.

"Leave her alone. Now."

The girls exchanged nervous glances. They could feel the weight of his presence bearing down on them.

The lead girl, finally realizing this was a losing battle, muttered something under her breath and gestured to the others.

"Let's go."

Without another word, the trio slinked away, casting nervous glances over their shoulders as they hurried down the hall.

Adam clicked his teeth as he watched them go.

He never thought that he would stumble upon the classic campus bullying event.

-Once again

"You alright?"

Turning to Mei, he gave her a small, reassuring smile.

"Thank you, Adam…." Mei lifted her head, a soft sigh escaping her lips as her eyes avoided his gaze "I didn't want to cause a scene."

"Are you sure?"

He shrugged, leaning against the wall next to her.

"You could've handled them easily."

"Maybe….." Mei smiled slightly, her eyes dimming slightly. "But I'm trying to keep a low profile…."

She fidgeted, tilting her head ever so slightly in nervousness.

…Adam wasn't a professional at reading body language…. But Mei's emotions right now were obvious.

….

"I see…."

Adam nodded, not pressing the issue further.

"Still…"

He glanced down the hall where the girls had disappeared, then back at Mei.

"Next time, let me know if anyone gives you trouble. I'm always up for a little... intervention."

The silver-haired boy didn't like watching the people he cared about getting bullied.

"That…" Mei shook her head slightly, hesitant "Alright, thank you"

Her smile widened, a bright tint of cheerfulness mixing into it.

"Instead of a thank you, I would prefer a promise out of you"

Adam put his hands in his pockets, twisting his whole body to face her direction.

"Use force when people bully you" He smiled slightly at her "Okay?"

"I-"

"Don't be so quick to refuse"

The silver-haired boy waved his hand in dismissal as he interrupted her before she could utter anything.

"To be kind to your enemy is to be cruel to yourself" He tilted his head, pausing slightly "...Though I don't really think those little girls could be classified as 'enemies'..."

"...."

"Uh…" He scratched the back of his head awkwardly at her silence "Yeah, I don't know, just keep that in mind"

Not being able to bear the embarrassment any longer, he turned around to leave.

What he just said reminded him of what he first said to Mei Raiden.

….It was really cringe!

Like, who the hell shows up in front of you and spouts bullshit words of random wisdom?

And it was even worse considering he only knew Mei for one day at that time…

Damn, the silver-haired boy never thought that he, Adam Tempest, would want to find a hole to bury himself out of embarrassment!

"Thank you…"

A faint voice reached him. It was barely more than a mutter, and with the distance he had walked, it would be nearly impossible for any normal person to hear it.

But-

"You're welcome, Mei"

He replied back to the purple-haired girl behind him at a higher volume so his voice was heard by her.

Though it was kinda cringe and embarrassing….

These words would surely etch themselves into Mei's mind, so that she would be more prepared to face dangers in the future.

A/N:

Short chapter, I know

Honestly, I feel like I am wasting the precious free time I have

No, I am serious. For these past few days, I have been messing around with AI chatbots

I knew of their existence before, but when I actually messed with them.... It became so fun

Now if only all those AI chatbots weren't so horny....

But yeah, I have been messing with those 'RPG' types, because there is just something so fascinating seeing an AI generate a whole freaking degraded version of a fanfiction/novel just from multiple prompts from the user

Though, I still feel like messing with AI just for that reason is kind of a waste...

Guys, what do you do in your free time? I want to do something productive so I don't feel as if I am wasting my youth, so please give me your thoughts
