Chapter 426: Chapter 426 Andy: I finally made a true prediction
"Can someone who talks a lot of nonsense be a true seer?" Hermione snorted in disbelief.
"I rely on my vision, my vision!"
Andy emphasised, "And Professor Trelawney also said that you can't learn divination just from books."
"But you should master the knowledge in the books first. This knowledge is the valuable experience of previous generations," Hermione argued.
In the field of divination, Andy and Hermione have completely different learning attitudes.
Hermione, as usual, always regards the knowledge in books as the classics.
Andy is different.
It's not that Andy doesn't read books; of course, he does, but when it comes to actually divining, Andy always makes his 'predictions' based on his own feelings.
As for the results... well, of course, there are hit-and-miss.
In the words of the young witch, Andy's divination procedure is all about luck (complete nonsense).
In contrast, Hermione's prediction is much more accurate.
After all, many of the predictions in the Tarot cards and books are 'suitable for anyone'—there are so many things that happen in a person's life, and there is always one thing that can be right.
So the young witch is extremely confident in her own predictions.
"But Professor Trelawney likes me better." Andy delivered the ultimate coup de grace.
Hermione: "..."
The young witch immediately retreated.
Since she was young, Hermione had always been very popular with the teachers, and that continued at Hogwarts—all the professors, except for Professors Binns and Snape, liked Hermione better.
But Professor Trelawney obviously had her own preferences.
She liked Andy better.
Hermione, who studied hard, was no different from the other young wizards in Professor Trelawney's eyes.
This also greatly encouraged Andy.
He had his own perspective!
During their casual conversation, Andy and Hermione had arrived at the Divination classroom.
The content of the class was still basic divination.
After pouring tea for the other young wizards, Professor Trelawney, as usual, asked them to interpret the shape of the tea leaves and make 'predictions' according to the content of the book.
Then she walked over to Andy.
"Collins... you still can't see through the fog?"
Professor Trelawney obviously had a special relationship with Andy, because Andy was the only one she called by his first name.
Everyone else was just 'dear'.
Professor Trelawney only calls Andy by his name.
"Professor!"
Andy nodded and said seriously, "I've tried not to force myself, but... it's hard."
"Maybe you can try this."
Professor Trelawney handed Andy a crystal ball and said with some expectation, "Try it! You can start by looking at pages 56 to 80, and then try to make a divination with this crystal ball."
"I got it!" Andy answered with great anticipation.
"Professor Trelawney,"
Hermione asked with some lingering concern, "Without the sight, can't we make a prophecy?"
"Oh, dear, don't be too sad."
Professor Trelawney patted Hermione on the shoulder, "Without the Sight; there is very little you can learn, and there is very little I can teach you."
It was clear that in the field of divination, book knowledge was indeed 'very limited'.
Hermione was a little unwilling, and she looked at Andy with envy.
This person has a very high talent for magic, is also very smart, and now even has the rare Sight.
God is so unfair!
Professor Trelawney went off to give some other young witches and wizards some guidance, and by the time she returned, Andy had already finished reading the book.
"Try it, Collins."
Professor Trelawney said hopefully. "You have excellent magical talent, and perhaps you are more suited to using a crystal ball for divination."
Having been a professor of Divination for twelve years, this was the first time Professor Trelawney had met a young wizard who had both the Sight and the talent for magic and was willing to learn Divination.
If Divination could really be taught to just anyone, Professor Trelawney would never have been a fraudulent professor.
But without a natural talent for Divination, Professor Trelawney could only do so much.
Looking at Andy in front of her...
Professor Trelawney thought to herself, 'I should train a Seer for Hogwarts.'
"Mmm!" Andy nodded.
"Hoo-"
Taking a deep breath, Andy followed the steps in the book. He placed his hands on either side of the crystal ball, then closed his eyes and prepared to make a prophecy for Neville.
After all, Neville had a constitution that 'often had accidents'.
"What-what is that?" Hermione suddenly whispered in surprise.
Andy opened his eyes and saw a white mist inside the crystal ball. As the mist surged, it faintly flashed some images.
"Sorry, Andy! I'm disturbing you," Hermione said apologetically.
"It's okay!"
Andy smiled, "The divination is over."
After saying that, Andy continued to watch the changes inside the crystal ball.
Hermione looked over as well. "It's Neville!"
Neville in the crystal ball broke a cup.
With a cracking sound, a sudden noise broke the silence.
Andy, Hermione, and Professor Trelawney all turned their heads at the same time.
They saw Neville standing up in a panic, his face flushing red, and he said with a guilty look, "I'm sorry, Professor Trelawney. I thought I heard someone calling my name."
"Don't worry, dear,"
Professor Trelawney said. "But I'll have to trouble you to clean up the broken pieces of the teacup and get another blue teacup from the shelf."
"Yes, yes!" Neville stuttered.
"Collins, you've succeeded!"
Professor Trelawney turned back to look at Andy. She seemed a little excited. "I was right. A young wizard with such a talent for magic as you is more suitable for divination with physical objects."
Andy was ecstatic.
The prophecy had really come true!
The images in the crystal ball and the scene of Neville breaking the cup were not illusions.
Although they happened almost at the same time.
"Professor, why is that?" Andy asked in puzzlement.
Interpreting tea leaves was really difficult for Andy.
But when using the crystal ball to divine just now, Andy didn't feel much, as if... everything was just following its natural course.
Hermione also looked at Professor Trelawney with a puzzled expression.
Although she had always known that Andy had the Sight – after all, Professor Trelawney's attitude had said it all—
Hermione had never imagined that Andy could actually show the future through the crystal ball.
That was much more convincing than all those mumbo-jumbo prophecies.
