Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Is this the legendary epiphany?
"I did it!"
Andy's face was also filled with surprise, but then there was a look of vexation - Andy had felt that the boiling magic power in his body was calming down at an extremely fast speed.
Andy tried to continue recalling those memories that he had forgotten, but he helplessly realized that he was no longer able to enter the same state as before.
After all, too much time had passed.
The first time he recalled it, Andy was still able to generate a strong emotion, but if he recalled it one after another, the effect would obviously be much less effective.
Time is the best medicine in the world.
Andy hated the phrase but had to agree that it was true.
"How did you do it?" Hermione pressed.
"Remember that book you picked out for me?" Andy pulled the book Modern Spell Theory out of his pocket.
"Engorgio!"
Enlarging the shrunken book, Andy handed it to Hermione, "Have a look at the first chapter of this book, it talks about how emotions affect magic."
Hermione opened the book and looked at it carefully.
The young witch tugged at her hair with some vexation, she really shouldn't have doubted the book after all. There were things she didn't know simply because she hadn't read the book yet.
While Hermione was reading, Andy waved his wand again.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Andy felt that his application of the Full Body-Bind Curse was obviously much more skilful, and the power of the spell seemed to have strengthened a bit.
But that was all.
Because Andy could no longer return to the state he was in before.
Furthermore, Andy vaguely felt the emotion that he had used before was wrong.
The reason why dark magic was recognized as evil was because using it required some sort of negative emotion.
Once the dark magic casted successfully, the dark magic itself would, in turn, affect the caster's mind, thus aggravating the caster's negative emotions.
In the long run, the wizard's mind would gradually fall into darkness.
The kind of emotion that Andy had used before was obviously also a type of negative emotion.
Andy rubbed his temples and tried his best not to recall those.
This subject was too profound, and it was obviously not something Andy could grasp right now.
Andy decided to practice all the spells he had mastered collectively, while the magic power in his body had not completely calmed down.
-Of course, it wasn't a silly wand waving.
When practising a spell, if you can't combine it with your own understanding of the spell, then even if you practised it many times, it would only allow you to become more skilful in using that magic, but not enhance the power of the spell.
This is the importance of magic theory.
"Hoo--"
After an hour, Andy stopped and habitually opened the system to have a look.
[Potential Points: 1]
Not only that, even the red liquid inside the orb had risen by more than a half.
Today's practice was so evidently highly efficient!
After Andy's previous point increase, the red liquid within the orb was only about one-third.
But today's practice not only made the red liquid rise full once, it also rose by a half again.
If it was a normal practice, Andy would need at least half a month of hard practice to add a single potential point.
Could this be the legendary epiphany?
In one day of enlightenment, one could become immortal.
Although it wasn't that exaggerated, this emotional invocation was clearly a success.
Moreover, the increase in potential points also showed one thing, which was that Andy's research was in the right direction.
Because the red liquid inside the orb would only rise if the strength was effectively raised.
Closing the system, Andy turned his head to Hermione.
"Why are you still reading?" After being so engaged in practising, Andy ignored Hermione's existence a little bit.
Luckily, he didn't blurt out, System, add points!
"Well... this book...."
Hermione's face was serious as she said in a critical tone, "This book is filled with so much fantasy that if you hadn't actually succeeded, it would be hard for me to believe that what the book stated is true."
Indeed.
Andy had come into contact with the Lovegoods a few times, and their family, indeed a bit too delirious for their own good.
"That's the way it is with magic."
Andy said, "You can't rationally think about magic - although a lot of the time, rational thinking does work. But it is only in rare instances, in many important moments, emotions play an important role."
"Especially in the wizarding world!"
"Ah-" Hermione closed the book and stretched her arms out to stretch.
Andy looked away.
Well! There wasn't really anything to see, the eleven-year-old girl didn't have anything yet.
"Are you done practising already?" Hermione asked.
"Let's take a break first."
Andy nodded, "Just in time, I can practice with you now."
The time passed in a flash.
Andy and Hermione practised in the abandoned classroom until a little past six in the evening, and then they walked out of the classroom together to go to the great hall for dinner.
"Hey! Andy." Just as they walked into the great hall, Andy's roommate, Michael Corner, furtively waved at Andy.
Andy walked over with a confused look on his face, "What's up?"
All three roommates were there, and Anthony asked secretively, "Andy, tell us honestly, did you go on a date this afternoon?"
"We didn't see you guys in the library either," Michael said.
Andy: "..."
Andy had a blank look on his face, what the hell was going on in these young wizards' heads?
Well! Thinking about all the schoolchildren who fell in love in his previous life, eleven years old seemed mature enough.
The law might not allow it, but it wouldn't stop them.
"Yeah, why?" Andy admitted honestly.
Given a choice between 'practising magic for an afternoon' and 'going on a date', Andy decided on the latter.
First, they won't believe it, and it would make Andy look more mature.
Moreover, Hogwarts is a good place to spread rumours, and there is no telling how many strange rumours have circulated in this school over the millennia.
Some rumours had even turned into school legends.
When the rumours spread more and more, the person concerned in question might gradually acquiesce in his heart if he didn't want to explain.
Andy decided to play a careful trick.
Terry Boot had a look of admiration, "Awesome."
Anthony, on the other hand, was full of enthusiasm, "Andy, teach us."
"That kind of thing..."
Andy looked unimpressed, then turned his head to Hermione who was talking to her roommate, "Hermione, how about going to the library together after dinner?"
"Okay!" Hermione had no opinion.
Andy raised his chin at his three roommates, "Did you learn?"
The three shook their heads.
"You have to be proactive and bold about this kind of thing."
Andy said with the tone of a man who had experienced similar things before, "When it comes to things such as between a boy and a girl, you first have to open your mouth. As long as you open your mouth, then there will be a chance."
Terry had a difficult look on his face, "But what if we get rejected?"
Michael and Anthony nodded in agreement.
This kind of thing would feel humiliating just thinking about it.
"Rejected?"
Andy looked at the trio as if they were maggots, "What's there to be ashamed of, if it doesn't work once, try a second time!"
