Chapter 12: Chapter 12 The upper and lower limits of young wizards of the same class
Hermione asked curiously, "What is wrong with Gryffindor? I heard that the greatest wizard of the twentieth century - Dumbledore - graduated from Gryffindor."
"But Ravenclaw's not bad either," Hermione added at the end.
Neville was staring at Andy even more closely as if he was going to rush up and fight Andy if he couldn't give him a reasonable explanation.
"Er..."
Andy did not expect that his one sentence would cause such a big reaction from the two.
But if he thought about it, the four main houses of Hogwarts had existed for a thousand years, and each house had its own traditional culture and supporters.
Fans of teams and idol groups in the Muggle world often tore up other fans, not to mention the four great houses of Hogwarts.
"We go to Hogwarts to learn magic, in fact, no matter which house we go to, the knowledge we learn is the same, the most crucial thing still depends on our own efforts."
Andy leaned to the side and explained unhurriedly, "Each house of Hogwarts has its own traditional culture, so the learning atmosphere of each house is different."
"Gryffindor is certainly good as well, this house symbolises courage. It's just that the young wizards usually can't tell the difference between courage and recklessness, so they're very naughty."
"And I prefer a quieter learning environment," Andy concluded.
Courage was certainly a great quality, but forget about being a Gryffindor!
"So that's it!"
Hermione said thoughtfully, "It's really hard to imagine Dumbledore being naughty like those wicked boys when he was younger."
Andy already had the picture in his head.
Maybe Dumbledore had thrown Dungbombs in the corridor when he was young too.
The few continued to chat about their respective anecdotes and the train moved slowly along.
Woosh!
The train saleswoman pulled open the door to the compartment, she pushed a cart full of treats and asked with a big smile, "Would you like to buy some snacks, children?"
"I'll take some." Hermione was interested in the snacks of the wizarding world.
"I...I...I'm not buying."
Neville stammered in explanation, "My grandma was worried that I would lose my change, well, it's not the first time I've lost my allowance..."
Andy pulled out a few silver sickles, "I'll buy some too."
The snacks in the magical world were not only interesting, but they also tasted good.
In the past when he was at home, Andy was too embarrassed to grab snacks with his little sister, and from time to time, he had to take out his own snacks to subsidise his little sister, but when he was out of home, he was much more free.
The young wizard was generous, and the sales witch's smile became more and more benevolent, "Thank you for your patronage."
"Neville, why don't you eat with us too!" Andy invited.
"I...I..." Neville turned red, a little embarrassed.
Andy laughed lightly, "It's fine if you treat me back in the future, we are all classmates from now on, no need to be polite."
Hermione also said with a big smile, "That's right, we are all classmates, no need to be polite with us."
"Thanks, guys!"
Neville opened a box of chocolate frog, then suddenly he seemed to have thought of something, he stood up abruptly, "It's over, I've lost Trevor."
"What is Trevor?" Hermione asked curiously.
Neville anxiously rummaged around, "Trevor is a pet I have, it's a golden-backed toad."
Hermione's eyes widened as if she couldn't imagine that someone would have a toad as a pet.
Seeing that Neville was on the verge of catching fire with anxiety, Hermione suggested, "It should still be on the train, let's go out and look for it!"
With that said, Hermione turned her head to Andy, "Do you want to come along?"
Andy rubbed his temple, "Come on, Trevor may not be a magical creature, but he's a pet with magical properties, so he'll find his way back on his own when he has had enough of playing around."
Hermione looked at Neville suspiciously, "Is that so?"
Neville thought for a moment and said with some embarrassment, "It seems like there have been a few times when Trevor has suddenly disappeared out of nowhere and then suddenly appeared again..."
Seeing Hermione's eyes turning more and more dangerous, Neville could only explain dryly, "I forgot."
After eating snacks together, the three of them were getting acquainted with each other.
Neville also talked about a time when to prove that he wasn't a Squib, his uncle had thrown him out of a window, and he had bounced himself up.
This incident made his family very happy because he was able to go to Hogwarts to study.
Hermione also talked about a magical riot she had as a child when she fought with someone she really disliked, and in her agitation, she made the other person's hair disappear.
"So, what about you?" Hermione looked at Andy.
Through chatting with Neville, Hermione sort of had a general idea of the magic level of the young wizards in the same class.
If Andy was the uppermost limit of the same class, then Neville represented the lowest limit of the same class of young wizards - he couldn't even use a single spell and hadn't even read a textbook before school.
"I ah..."
Andy sank into his memories, "I was about six, and my dad said I was old enough to have a magical riot, so I magically blew up the stool under his arse."
"That's it?" Hermione said in disbelief, "I read in a book that young wizards only experience magic riots when they are emotionally agitated, it's a phenomenon of magical instability ..."
Before Hermione could finish her words, Andy used his magic to control Hermione's hair to float up.
"Ah-" Hermione exclaimed.
"It's getting harder to do this, it should be due to the gradual stabilisation of the magic." Andy spread his hands with a look of 'I don't know' on his face.
Neville was filled with envy, "Andy, you're amazing."
"Is this wandless spell casting?"
Hermione first shot Andy a hard look, then spoke with some curiosity, "I read in a book that only those very powerful wizards can do wandless spell casting."
"Not exactly wandless spell casting."
Andy explained, "It's the simplest control of magic, and I've only been able to do this because I've been practising hard."
When he said practising hard, Hermione's eyes returned to her book.
"I'm going to continue reading."
"And you two..."
Hermione swept a glance at Andy and Neville, "If there's nothing else, don't disturb me."
Neville was a little overwhelmed.
Andy shrugged and leaned sideways in his seat for a nap.
Woo hoo hoo...
The train continued to move forward, the sky outside the window gradually became darker, and the distance between students and Hogwarts became closer and closer.
After an unknown amount of time, Andy suddenly felt someone nudge him.
"Andy, Hogwarts is almost here, we better hurry up and change into our wizard robes," Neville whispered.
"Thanks!"
Andy rubbed his eyes and slowly rose from his seat, his arms spread wide, and he pulled out his wand and gave a gentle wave.
The suitcase on the shelf opened a crack and a set of wizarding clothes flew out of it.
The casual clothes Andy was wearing automatically left his body and folded itself into the suitcase.
The wizard robe unfolded in the air, and then it was put on Andy.
The dress change was complete!
