Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Andy: I seem to have met my opponent

In the last few days before the start of school, Andy did not continue to practice magic, but instead spent his time accompanying his family, taking Isabel for a good two days of crazy fun.

September 1st.

Andy took his usual nap, then was woken up by Helen's angry voice, and was forcefully pulled out of bed by the little brat Isabel.

Wearing his pyjamas and wobbling all the way downstairs, Andy sleepily greeted his family, "Good morning."

"Andy, you can't keep going on like this."

Kyle had already finished his breakfast, "If you keep sleeping in when you are at Hogwarts, you'll be late for class."

Andy sat down at the table in a daze, slapping his face to wake himself up a little, "Don't worry, I brought an alarm clock."

Sleeping in was Andy's dream in his past life and his habit in this life.

"Being late for class is also his own business, the professors at school will discipline him," Helen said without a trace of anger. If there was anything about this kid that didn't satisfy her enough, it was probably the sleeping-in thing.

After breakfast, Andy went to the bathroom to take a shower and then changed into clean clothes.

The luggage had already been packed last night, Andy checked once and found that nothing was missing, then he carried the suitcase and clanking it to the living room on the ground floor.

Kyle was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper, he had taken a half day off work today.

It was Andy's first time going to school, and he didn't want to miss such an important moment.

"Wasn't the Gringotts robbed? How long has it been, the Daily Prophet hasn't even reported it yet." Andy glanced at the newspaper, then he leaned back on the sofa and lost interest.

Clatter!

Kyle flipped the newspaper a bit and said in the tone of a man who had seen it all before, "Boy, that's the charm of the Gold Galleon."

Cornelius Fudge had only become the Minister of Magic last year, and everyone in the magical world knew that he had relied on Dumbledore's support to get to the top and that he was Dumbledore's yes-man.

So this is the outcome?

Was this what Dumbledore himself wanted, or was he just misreading people?

Thinking of a certain Defence Against the Dark Arts class professor, Andy suddenly realised that Dumbledore had probably gone senile.

After all, he was over a hundred years old.

The legal retirement age in the Muggle world was sixty, and Dumbledore was already over a hundred, but he was still insisting on going to work, what kind of persistence was that?

After dawdling at home until ten o'clock or so, Andy's family of four took the Knight Bus to King's Cross Station.

The Knight Bus is an excellent ride, it takes you wherever you want to go, over mountains and meadows as if they were flat, and it's more exciting than a rollercoaster.

This bus was Andy and Isabel's favourite.

People were coming and going in the railway station at this time of day, and Andy arrived with his family near a wall between platforms nine and ten.

"Come on, darling."

Helen took Isabel's hand and waited for Andy and Kyle to go through the wall before taking the little girl through with her.

The front and back of a wall were two completely different worlds, and the people of the other world would probably never think that there was a group of magical wizards living with them in this world, right?

The Hogwarts Express was a Victorian-era crimson steam train that looked outdated.

Andy couldn't really associate this train with the word 'express' though.

Was it even as fast as a standard green train?

Not to mention the high-speed train.

The platform was filled with parents sending their children to school, dressed in various styles of strange clothes that looked ancient and wacky.

Some of the young wizards had pets with them, and Andy noticed that one little round-faced wizard had a toad for a pet.

Geez! Could that creature really be petted?

"Get on the train, there should be quite a few empty compartments at this hour."

Helen said with some reluctance, "Remember to write to us when you get to school."

"Got it! Bye Dad, Mum, and Isa, see you at Christmas."

Andy waved goodbye to his family and flicked his wand at the suitcase.

"Wingardium Leviosa."

The suitcase flew up to follow Andy, who walked onto the train and made his way through the corridor to find an unoccupied compartment.

After placing his suitcase, Andy pulled open the window of the compartment and said his final goodbyes to his family.

"You guys go back, I'm going to sleep a little more, I got up really early this morning." Andy waved his hand.

"How much longer do you want to sleep? Do you want us to wait for you on a hungry stomach?" Helen said, without any goodwill.

"Alright, alright!"

Kyle said with a smirk, "We'll head back then, see you at Christmas."

"Bye, Andy."

Isabel looked at Andy with great reluctance and said in a villainous tone, "Make sure you write to me when you get to school!"

"I know! I'll definitely write to you guys."

After his family left, Andy closed the window and closed his eyes for a nap.

Woosh!

The door to the compartment was pulled open, and a young brown-haired girl stood in the doorway carrying a large suitcase.

"Can I sit here?"

The brown-haired girl raised her chin, "Hello, I'm Hermione Granger, may I ask who you are?"

Andy: "..."

"Have a seat, I'm the only one here. Oh! I almost forgot to introduce myself, my name is Andy, Andy Collins." Andy said.

"Nice to meet you, Mr Collins." Hermione nodded and walked into the compartment with her suitcase.

"Just call me Andy."

Hermione's suitcase was oversized, and when Andy saw how hard it was for her to carry it, he whipped out his wand and lightly recited the incantation.

"Wingardium Leviosa."

This was probably the most important thing Andy had learnt after practising magic for over a month - no matter what the problem was, Andy would always be the first to pull out his wand to fix it.

It was a good habit, and Andy decided to keep it up.

"Nice Levitation Charm, thanks, and you can call me Hermione too."

Hermione sat down across from Andy and raised her chin, as proud as a white swan, "Are you a first year too?"

Andy looked up and was about to answer.

Just then he heard Hermione proceed to continue as if in a barrage, "I've tried a few simple spells at home, just for practice, but they all worked."

"No one in my family knows anything about magic, so when I got my acceptance letter, I was surprised but especially happy ... I have memorised all the textbooks, of course, I just hope it helps ... "

Andy didn't pay much attention to exactly what Hermione said after that, and when Andy heard the words 'I have memorised all the textbooks', he knew he had met his match.

So the Hermione Granger and Her Two Useless Men thing was true?

Andy had read textbooks, they were the kind of books that Andy would find it a struggle to memorise even a paragraph, let alone the entire book.

"You're really something."

Andy sincerely said, "I can't, I can't memorise those textbooks at all, so I can only practice magic, and I've practised each kind of magic thousands of times. Of course, I also wish it would help."
