Chapter 32: Chapter 032: Helpful Hufflepuff
On the other side, because getting out of class had already ended when he came out of the Hospital Wing, Kyle did not go to the Charms classroom but went directly to the Library.
Dumbledore had just recommended two books to him, saying they were very helpful for casting basic spells and suitable for new wizards. Kyle planned to borrow them and take a look.
The Library is located on the second floor and is easy to find. You only need to go up one flight of stairs.
"Two books? No!" Mrs. Pince, the librarian, held up a feather duster and looked at Kyle with a critical eye. "Unless you have an approval note from the Professor, you can only borrow one book at a time."
"If it's a book, let's borrow 'Gadding with Ghouls'." Kyle didn't hesitate too much and quickly reported the book's title.
But he didn't expect that when she heard the words 'Gadding with Ghouls,' Mrs. Pince's face suddenly showed an expression of extreme disgust as if she had heard some vicious curse words.
"It's Lockhart's book again." Mrs. Pince muttered softly.
She didn't like the author Gilderoy Lockhart, or she didn't like the extremely self-centered way of writing, which, in her opinion, was just sensationalism.
If that's all it is, it doesn't matter. After all, the same is true for many biographies. You can still read it if you endure it.
But she didn't know why. When she read Lockhart's book, she always felt that something was missing in the content. So many places were incoherent.
Although this kind of problem is not big and does not affect reading, Mrs. Pince just feels very uncomfortable, and she feels uncomfortable every time she thinks about it.
Therefore, her impression of Kyle suddenly dropped a lot. After a moment of silence, she said with a straight face. "'Gadding with Ghouls' has been borrowed. If you register now, it will be available in about two years."
"Two years... let's forget it." Kyle shook his head and said. "What about 'The Bard in the Wind'?"
"Yes." Mrs. Pince's expression softened a lot. She asked Kyle to wait here and went straight to the row of bookshelves next to her.
Taking advantage of this moment, Kyle curiously looked at the famous librarian from the side.
Mrs. Pince was a thin, old woman who looked like a malnourished vulture. The little wizards who were reading couldn't even breathe where she walked.
A little wizard seemed to be too nervous and couldn't hold back a sneeze, so he was kicked out of the Library.
Kyle smacked his lips. It was no wonder that she became Filch's rumored wife. The two of them seemed to be a perfect match. Not only did they follow the same rules, but they both hated students.
Not long after, Mrs. Pince returned and handed Kyle a thick hard-cover book and a note.
"It must be returned within a week. If the deadline is exceeded or the book is damaged, you will not be able to borrow any book from here again in the future."
"I will remember."
…
Since there was only one class for first-year students in the morning, Kyle went directly back to the Common Room after coming out of the Library, preparing to find a more comfortable place to read what was written in this book.
But as soon as he passed through the barrel door, he was surrounded by people.
Almost all the new Hufflepuff students were gathered in the common room, waiting for Kyle to return.
"How's it going, Kyle?" Ryan rushed over first and asked anxiously. "Is Mikel okay? We wanted to go to the Hospital Wing to see him, but as soon as we entered the door, Madam Pomfrey kicked we out."
The other little wizards also nodded. Even though Mikel had caused them trouble because of the accident in magic class, they were still very concerned about Mikel's situation.
This is probably Hufflepuff.
"Don't worry." Kyle patted Ryan on the shoulder and said with a smile. "Professor Dumbledore has already seen it and said he can be discharged from the Hospital Wing after taking the Potion tomorrow."
"That's good, that's good." Ryan was obviously relieved, and after thinking for a while, he asked. "Then is Mikel awake? Did he say what he wanted to eat, although there is no way to give it to him now? But we can prepare it in advance and give it to him when he is discharged from the Hospital Wing. He will definitely be very happy."
Other little wizards also recognized Ryan's statement. They donated generously and took out things they regarded as treasures.
"I've got raspberry preserves here!"
"I've got fudge here."
"How about the biscuits? My mother made them by herself. They are delicious."
"I think he wants to eat licorice candy..."
…
For a moment, even Kyle was moved by the strong friendship between classmates. Under everyone's expectant eyes, he said in a deep voice. "Mikel didn't say what he wanted to eat, but I think he wants it most now. It's not these snacks that matter, but not delaying your studies!"
"Don't delay your studies?" Ryan scratched his head, not understanding what Kyle meant.
"Yes." Kyle said seriously. "You should also have seen that Mikel's accident occurred because he was unable to complete the magic spell and was anxious."
"That's right." Ryan nodded.
Although he was focused on his wand at the time, he didn't know how the blinding "flashbang" appeared. However, in his opinion, everyone was practicing magic spells at that time, and Mikel was no exception, so it was okay for Kyle to say so.
"That's right." Kyle said seriously. "He is such a strong person, he certainly doesn't want to miss two classes than others."
"So what we have to do now is to listen carefully in the Transfiguration class in the afternoon and the History of Magic tomorrow morning, write down everything the Professor said, and organize it into notes to give to Mikel. I believe he will be moved to tears."
The huge Hufflepuff lounge was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. The badgers looked at each other, and no one spoke.
It was hard for them to believe that someone disliked snacks but liked studying. But after thinking carefully about what Kyle said... they couldn't find any flaws.
It was clear and logical, and it sounded like there was no problem at all.
Maybe... Mikel really loves magic.
The badgers thought so and soon convinced themselves.
After that, some people volunteered to stand up, some took the initiative to take notes, and some were responsible for the final arrangement...
The remaining few little wizards who didn't grab the task but wanted to help, after discussing it for a while, soon found a task that Kyle ignored.
Homework!
In Hogwarts, homework is essential for every class, and its importance is self-evident.
So they decided to tell Mikel the homework for each class, and not only that, but they also told the Professors in class that Mikel was an excellent Hufflepuff. Even if he was admitted to the Hospital Wing, he still cared about his studies, would not be lazy, and would do his homework.
