Harry Potter: Archmage of Another World

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Ten Years

Ten years had passed in the blink of an eye. A decade was enough for Augustus to understand much about this world—a realm where low-level magic coexisted with technology. Magic remained a hidden aspect of society, relegated to the shadows. For centuries, there had been no signs of divine miracles, leading Augustus to suspect that this was a world abandoned by the gods.

The family he was born into, the Julius family, turned out to be a prominent magical lineage—one of the ruling "pure-blood" families, having produced several Ministers of Magic. However, Augustus saw the Ministry's members as nothing more than fools waving sticks. Yes, sticks. In this world, people actually needed black wands to cast magic. To Augustus, a mage who had once set foot in the divine realm, it was laughable and absurd.

Though he had to start over in this life, the unique magical system of this world intrigued him. The now-dead Voldemort and the still-righteous leader Dumbledore further piqued his interest. From his analysis, Augustus concluded that both Dumbledore and Voldemort were at least legendary-level mages in their own right.

While the ten years felt monotonous to Augustus, they were a series of pleasant surprises for the Julius family. At age three, the family's magical detection stone revealed Augustus's enormous magical energy, rivaling that of an adult. By the time he was five, a failed magical experiment showed that he had mastered wandless magic. To the outside world, Augustus was a lucky prodigy. But for the Julius family, having such a gifted child felt like their true fortune.

Deep within the vast estate, Augustus lounged on a swing in the garden. The afternoon sun bathed his golden hair in a soft, warm glow. His alabaster face, adorned with silvery eyes, exuded an ethereal charm. These crystal-like eyes seemed to radiate threads of silvery light, complementing the noble aura of his golden locks. He held an old book in his hands, its title, Dragons and Magic, glowing faintly. Augustus found the dragons of this realm particularly fascinating.

"Augustus, my darling, there you are! Get ready—the Hogwarts owl has delivered your letter. We need to head to Diagon Alley to purchase your books and magical supplies," called his mother, Aurora Alice, a stunningly elegant woman, as she approached.

"So it's finally here. I've been waiting long enough," Augustus said, his usual calm demeanor giving way to a rare hint of excitement. He leapt from the swing, quickly striding to Aurora and taking the envelope.

It was a pale-yellow envelope with emerald-green ink addressed to:

Mr. Augustus Julius, Julius Estate, London.

Opening the letter, Augustus read:

---

(Supreme Mugwump, International Confederation of Wizards; Chief Warlock, Wizengamot; First-Class Order of Merlin)

Dear Mr. Augustus Julius,

At last, Augustus thought. Now he could delve deeper into the magical systems of this world. Although the estate housed a vast library, Augustus knew that only at Hogwarts could he access more comprehensive magical knowledge.

"Well then, what are we waiting for, Mother? Let's leave now," Augustus said eagerly.

"Hogwarts must truly captivate you, my dear," Aurora said with a smile, clearly pleased to see her son so animated. "Let's go to the drawing room. Your father is waiting for us there."

Following Aurora through winding hallways, Augustus soon reached the opulent drawing room where his father, Clovis Julius, awaited in understated yet elegant attire.

Clovis greeted them with a gentle smile, his pride evident as he looked at Augustus. "Ah, ten years have passed so quickly. I still remember the day you were born. You've brought us countless surprises. As the heir to the Julius family, you've already surpassed all expectations. Your magical talents are exceptional, and your comprehension of magic is astonishing. Your mother and I have no doubt that you will excel at Hogwarts and someday become a great wizard."

Taking a sip of tea brought by a house-elf, Clovis continued, "So, my boy, are you ready? If so, let's head out to get your wand and books."

"Of course, Father. I've been ready for a long time," Augustus replied, slightly rolling his eyes at Clovis's long-winded speech, relieved they were finally getting to the point.

Moments later, a luxurious carriage rose from the estate grounds. Invisible steeds guided the carriage steadily through the brilliant golden sunlight as it made its way toward London.
