Harem King from A Slave in Another World

Chapter 597: Men of Olga

Selena Saxon had employed many soldiers and former officers of the newly dissolved Olga Empire from the northern Thedas continent. The short but threatening man was one of them besides Achilles and Xerox.

"Monyet, the monkey."

Although the person did not hear Xerox’s remarks, he, who was known as the monkey, quietly walked to where they were.

“How are you, the great warrior?”

"I am doing well thanks to you, General.”

“You too, Commander.”

“Yes.”

"I heard we are doing well."

Xerox shook his head and replied, "We won every battle except at the Torose fortress against Count Guiscard."

Monyet responded, "I was there. It was a very large battle, worthy of losing. I heard there was a small defeat this week."

"Oh, that one. We didn't send large army because it was just a Baron territory. I never expected Margrave Lothair de Doucy sent his reinforcement." Xerox explained.

Achilles added, "I heard there was an unknown army mixed with the Doucy."

Xerox answered, "As usual.."

"Hiro Hezri's men.." The three men spoke simultaneously.

After a long pause, Monyet asked, "Didn't you follow up the attack with more men. We defeated Marquis Cyril soldiers supporting Count Ambroise with more men."

Xerox shook his head again and said,

"Direct command from Her Majesty. Let Baron Duverger go. It's not worth it, she said. We'd better focus on conquering more land."

They nodded.

Xerox was reminded about something and immediately asked, "Oh, there's that mysterious happening in central Orlais. Regarding the thousands of corpses that disappeared within just three nights."

Hearing that, Achilles who was responsible for the area furrowed his eyebrows.

"What?" Monyet exclaimed.

Xerox added, "That many corpses disappeared within just 3 days. And some peddlers and villagers saw skeletons walking into the Orlais forest bordering Orlais and northern Dioral."

Achilles nodded in confusion, "Indeed. There were twelve such reports from villagers and peddlers on sightings of skeletons walking towards the forest at the west."

"What on earth? Were those reports reliable?" Monyet raised his voice in disbelief.

Achilles shook his head.

The reports reached us several days after the sightings. We have no way of verifying them."

The three men sighed.

The atmosphere among the three men grew heavy as they contemplated the unsettling reports of disappearing corpses and sightings of walking skeletons. Monyet couldn't hide his disbelief at the bizarre nature of the information, while Achilles, responsible for the area, furrowed his eyebrows in deep concern. Xerox, who had brought up the topic, seemed equally puzzled by the mysterious happenings in central and western Orlais.

The men knew that they couldn't ignore these reports. It was crucial to investigate further and determine the source of the disappearing corpses and the sightings of walking skeletons. They exchanged determined glances, silently conveying their confusion.
