Hand of The Eldritch God

C6 Skirmish on The Road

As miles passed under the treads of their soles, they passed through into a section where the underbrush and grasses that lay across the forest floor no longer appeared. Littered on the ground were deadwood branches and fallen logs, thick stone protruding from one place or another.

A small group of the Crimson eyed deer stood in a field in the distance.

“Wait a moment, I want to get stronger, so while we’re traveling…” Ren crouched at the sight of the deer in the distance.

With a side-eyed glare, Hollwin stood and watched alongside Tayin.

Ren broke into a crouch and began to quickly move towards the deer. Within a short span, he had his revolver ready, loaded by generating ammo while traveling.

Eyeing down the sight a great Boom sounded out. An empowered bullet struck down the buck, it quickly died to the heavy sneak attack damage.

The two does looked around trying to find him, then began to come swiftly towards him though they didn’t know his exact location. Waiting several moments, he fired out a weak sneak attack, its trajectory into the neck of his target eliminating it rapidly.

The final beast began to move further towards him, at last spotting him. Breaking out into a full dash the beast went for a charging headbutt. Rolling to the side he dodged the blow, coming to his feet he dashed at the creature, the blade coming forth and taking it in the neck. Backing off he mentally selected the ‘loot’ button.

Items Looted:

Crimson Antler (Common)

He still had no use for the item, so he took it anyway. He began a quick jog back to the others. Summoning the antler, he gazed at it while slowly approaching the two.

“Do you know a use for this? Is it worth anything?” Ren gazed down at the antler and back at the other two.

Tayin spoke up, “It’s an antler, do you have no horns or claws in your world?”

Hollwin glanced at her and said “As an herbalist, I can fashion a tincture out of it to strengthen one’s vitality. It is quite weak with such low-grade ingredients though.

Ren allowed the item to return to his inventory when Hollwin and Tayin’s eyes opened like saucers.

“Spatial storage?” Tayin’s head went sideways as confusion overtook her.

Hollwin glanced at Ren, eyeing him up and down. “A gift from your patron I assume. That’s not something very many people have access to.”

“Ah yes… spatial storage. I have that, I guess.” Ren looked everywhere but at the two.

Tayin spoke up. “So, I know I’m not really supposed to ask, but what kind of patron do you have? The type of God or Goddess.”

“Huh, I don’t know, I never really went to church.”

“Well, God or Goddess, and how did they ascend?”

“I never heard of a God or Goddess ascending or anything like that, in what little I remember there were no such Gods and Goddesses.”

Hollwin looked at Ren, confused, and spoke. “A world with so many Gods, yet a hub world such as that would be the most knowledgeable, the most worshiped. Odd.”

They continued forward until Tayin stopped them. “Great bear, straight ahead.” She vanished into the tree line getting to cover pulling out a longbow and knocking an arrow. Ren moved to hide behind a log and started charging a sneak attack, not wanting to test out his Eldritch abilities yet.

Hollwin stood in the path unmoving. Within a short few moments loud grunts could be heard, peeking out Ren was a bear, or what could only be compared to a bear. Over twice the size of a brown bear from his world, it was gigantic. Its bulk and length dwarfed any man.

Great Bear Lv. 14

Standing still in the pathway Hollwin gently smiled as the beast made its way towards him. Sneak attack was steadily building just as Tayin fired an arrow, the winds moved to crash into the bear guiding the arrow directly into the creature’s neck. Winds whirled around the beast as it was shocked by the unexpected attack. It roared as it began to charge, seemingly unaffected by the pain of the arrow.

Hollwin spread his arms forth and spoke, “Divine Lady, grant me your protection.” A small silver light gleamed on the holy symbol of a triangle bisected by a line. A barrier of faint silver spread before him as the bear bounced off it. Translucent the bear and man looked at each other, it moved to go around the barrier as Ren let off his sneak attack into the opposite side of its neck from where the arrow landed.

In the next moment, a maelstrom of winds slammed into the beast as another arrow struck its throat. Tied down by the winds, small lashes began to appear around the creature’s body as the barrier held it back. The bear lunged forward enraged, attempting to tear down the silvery barrier before it. Its lashing and tearing left hairline fractures on the barrier.

Standing the bear moved to slam down onto the barrier, Ren fired off his remaining rounds, leaving little effect on the bear. Blood ran down its neck at all sides, yet it still fought with terrible veracity.

The thousands of pounds slammed down into the barrier, the hairline fractures cracked as Hollwin stepped back, again he spoke. “Mother of a that is good, bestow upon me your might.” The holy symbol glowed as a silvery phantom knight stood before the elderly cleric. The phantom knight began to stash at the bear, its paws turning the ghostly shape into fog when its blows slammed home. The silvery mist came back again and again as Ren’s bullets and Tayin’s windy arrows clashed with the beast.

The knight turned to mist moving atop the bear, it drove down a power stab into the bear’s back as it reformed, a bright flash came from the wound, and the mist dispersed, no longer reforming.

A great gasping came as the beast’s bloody throat pulled in the air; blood leaked from its mouth as it stumbled further toward the cleric. A final windswept arrow came piercing its back inside the wound given by the silvery mist phantom. Collapsing the beast took several moments to spot moving.

Congratulations Eldritch Rouge Lv. 3

Nice, so where to put the free points… Wait, what?

+3 Dexterity +1 Willpower +1 Intelligence +1 Vitality +5 Free points

Looking at the stats he had, strength and endurance were clearly lacking, though, being a magical rogue was way too sick for him to care. He allocated the five free points to dexterity and willpower.
