God’s Guide for Teasing Heroes

Chapter 67: Aoki Nikko and an Odd Encounter

Narrator POV

“Eh? What? What’s happening???” <Boy>

A teenage boy said in confusion.

He found himself in a space of pure darkness.

The sky, the floor, and the horizon everything is pitch black.

In that darkness, a human figure was floating on a white mist.

The figure was looking at the boy with a pair of red and purple eyes that seemed to glow.

“…” <Boy>

The boy could not speak.

There was silence.

The boy could not speak and the figure only stares at him without saying a word.

-sigh-

Weird enough, the figure seems to be peering at the boy’s entirety.

The eyes that gaze at him seem to have seen through everything about him.

“I’m sorry to say this but you died.” <Goddess>

“Huh?! No way I was just walking by the road just a while ago.” <Boy>

“I know… but you died.” <Goddess>

“How?!!!” <Boy>

“You got hit by a truck.” <Goddess>

“What?!... No, this pattern… don’t tell me? Am I getting Isekai'ed?” <Boy>

This word seems to have annoyed the figure…

Without delay, she talked.

“You will now be reborn in another world to pay for your sins, as such you will be reborn as a newborn. You can do whatever you like in that world. You can live peacefully as a new person for the rest of your pathetic life or you can try to co-exist with others, your choice. The real purpose of this reincarnation is for you to have a “new life” so I suggest that you should live a life dedicated to good and not to evil.” <Goddess>

“Oh! Shiiiit!!! I KNEW IT, OMG! I WILL GET ISEKAI’ED, ALRIGHT.” <Boy>

-tsk-

Looking at the enthusiastic boy, the figure clicked her tongue.

In the next instant…

She snapped her figure and the boy disappeared with a flash of light.

Ledia, the goddess of the SoulCycle decided to reincarnate the boy as a monster, specifically a “Green Leaper”.

Ledia had been encountering people who are getting too excited with the fact that they are finding themselves in a cliché situation of getting isekai'ed.

Specifically, Ledia hates the souls who are aware of this troupe and gets excited for no reason.

From her experience, these types of people are the ones who end up being useless in the end and at times they even become a problem for the world's managers.

As a result, whenever she encounters such soul, she just randomly reincarnates them and place their bodies inside a random monster, giving them a unique skill and done.

She did not feel bad about this, after all to her these souls are the souls of people who had already perished in their world.

Her mindset is based on the logic, "Since you get your second chance, you won't have any right to be picky, just accept what I give you."

The boy just now was an example of those people she hates to bother dealing with.

That is why she decided to reincarnate him as a monster without his knowledge.

“Next…” <Goddess/Ledia>

She said this toward the seemingly empty dark space.

These words are directed to her sister goddess, Eudom

Her sister goddess, the Goddess of Spacetime.

Eudom is the goddess responsible for transporting these souls from their original worlds to an alternate reality.

With that command, a new soul appeared.

A flash of light.

Dust that seems to glow gathered together to form a figure of a human.

The dust clumped together and a male appeared.

He was in his early 20s or at the very least in his late teens.

Just like everybody else he looked confused after seeing the place he is currently at.

He held it into his head and muttered.

“What happened… I remember being stabbed and…” <Male>

As he remembers the last memory he recalls, he panicked and touch his stomach.

He was looking for a non-existent wound.

“What? The hell…” <Male>

He was certain that he got stabbed but he could not find any wound on his body

The boy saw the figure of Ledia, lying on a mysterious cloud.

“Who are you, what is happening?” <Male>

“You will now be reborn in another world to pay for your sins, as such you will be reborn as a newborn. You can do whatever you like in that world. You can live peacefully as a new person for the rest of your life or you can try to co-exist with others, your choice. The real purpose of this reincarnation is for you to have a “new life” so I suggest that you should live a life dedicated to good and not to evil.” <Ledia>

Ledia stated the pre-determined speech that she gives to every soul she has to reincarnate.

“No, no, why?! I still have to find my sister; I can’t have myself wasting my time living in another world.” <Male>

“…hmnn… I like you… as a reward, I would let you know what happened to your sister…” <Ledia>

“That’s…” <Male>

“Oh my… you are…” <Ledia>

After peering through this person using her (God’s Eyes).

The goddess, Ledia had a troubled face.

“Eudom… I need your help.” <Ledia>

Another figure appeared near Ledia.

Unlike Ledia, the figure who appeared was a little girl with the same Red and purple eyes.

She whispers at Eudom, she seems to be asking her about something.

“I see, a soul from the future... peering into the future is not my thing… I need to call my future self for this one. I don’t want to be spoiled with the future event after all.” <Eudom>

The figure distorted like she was glitching, she disappeared for a moment and reappeared with a different aura.

The figure summoned her future self to see what was going on.

She needed to do this to not spoil her present self with something that would happen in the future.

And it appeared, the Eudom of the future.

We all know her by a different name, Luna.

“hi, ya'? You need help on something?” <Eudom/Luna>

“Yeah, I need to know what’s up with this guy's sister…” <Ledia>

“Oh, that’s new… If I remember it correctly, you at this point in time really hate doing this extra stuff…” <Luna>

“I decided to give this one a bonus as he made my day.” <Ledia>

Luna peered into this person’s identity with her (God's Eyes) and smiled happily.

“AHAHAHAHAHA, Oh my… this guy… fufufu…” <Luna>

“Did you find out something?” <Ledia>

“Yeah, just tell him that his sister is in that world too.” <Luna>

“Oh my, what a coincidence!” <Ledia>

“This must be another one of the God of Fate’s weird sense of humor.” <Luna>

The goddess, Ledia said this to the guy.

“Apparently your sister is in the other world too…” <Ledia>

“What?! How?! Does this means that she died too?” <Male>

“I did not ask for the details but all you have to know is that your sister is also in the world you are about to reincarnate. Knowing this, do you still don’t wish to go?” <Ledia>

“… Okay… Then… please…” <Male>

“Good… Good luck finding your sister.” <Ledia>

Ledia did not wait for the man to respond and snapped her finger once again.

Just like that, a flash of light burst, and the man was reincarnated as a baby human in that world.

“Next!” <Ledia>

A new soul appeared.

It was a fat old uncle who seems to not care about his body.

He looked unhealthy at first glance.

“Huh? Where am I?” <Uncle>

He said in confusion.

Uninterested, Ledia was in quite a good mood after all she managed to transport a normal person into that world.

It has been a while since such a person was reincarnated into that world.

That type of guy could be very helpful for Gaiah who is having troubles in that world.

While Ledia was still in the afterglow from the good mood she had from a while ago.

She was able to endure listening to the fat boy blabbering longer than she expected.

He seems to be knowledgeable about the troupe he was in.

[Guh… another Otaku…]

She looked at the guy disgustingly.

[I wonder why the god of Fate keeps on choosing these people to be reincarnated into that world.]

-sigh-

She sighs, she could not do anything.

Her job was to manage the souls of the living and the dead.

As a goddess who governs over the cycle of souls, reincarnating people is a part of her job.

“I WANT A HOLY SWORD!” <Uncle>

The uncle said…

“Hah???” <Ledia>

As the Goddess of SoulCycle, she can incite souls to be as honest as possible.

Facing Ledia, the desire of the person's soul is exposed in the presence of the goddess without fail.

This is why otaku with deep desires for reincarnating into another world could not help but show their desire and excitement for having this opportunity.

“I know that you will now ---.” <Uncle>

“I see so you like a sword?” <Ledia >

Ledia stopped the guy from blabbering more nonsense.

Ledia said sarcastically at the fat uncle.

“Yes, goddess-sama.” <Uncle>

“I see, since you like swords so much, you can become one.” <Ledia >

She nods with an unchanging smile.

“Thank You, Goddess-sama-” <Uncle>

-snap-

Ledia snaps her finger to reincarnate that guy as a sword.

She did not waste more time as she did not want to hear him anymore.

“I hope the god of fate sends a proper soul this time… Next!” <Ledia>

Ledia continued to do her job.

This particular event happened many years ago.

It was not until recently that Ledia who is now called Stella remembers this event.

****************

In the deep woodlands, south of the Artesia empire.

Aoki Nikko is lost after taking up a job to subjugate “Flower Deer”.

A “Flower Deer” is an E-rank monster endemic to the southern lands of the Artesia Empire.

It is a monster that resembles a deer as its name suggests, the only difference it has from the deer was its antlers also grow flowers.

These flowers are used as important ingredients in making mid-tier mana potions.

Flower deers are more aggressive compared to the deers Aoki Nikko knew about.

Despite that, he was quite confident hunting for these monsters.

They use those flowers filled horns to attack aggressive monsters.

Unfortunately, these monsters are carnivorous, thus they are very dangerous to humans.

Aoki Nikko.

One of the 28 Heroes the Empire summoned 3 months ago.

He has that typical black hair and brown eyes which is a common trait of a Japanese man.

Nikko is the type of guy who is neither fat nor thin, his body build is just average.

His height is also nothing special.

He had quite a pleasant-looking face.

He was out wearing his adventurer attire while venturing the forest near a city far south of Artesia, Colby.

“Where am I?” <Nikko>

Nikko asked as he had no idea where he was.

Just a while ago he desperately ran away from a raging “Forest bear”.

He is still too weak to be able to defeat a “Forest bear” all by himself.

To save himself he ran as fast as he could.

Now, after running away from the monster he found himself lost in the forest.

At the moment he was looking for some landmark to find a way out of the forest.

After walking around looking for such a landmark he manages to come across an old abandoned house.

The house was so old that it was already rotting away.

The house was not that big, it was a simple 1 story house with two rooms, a simple living room, and a kitchen.

The house was mostly made out of wood and as a result of being abandoned for a long time the house is now impossible to live in.

Some parts of the house had already collapsed.

“Oh… this house seems to be abandoned for quite a long time…” <Nikko>

He said to himself.

Out of curiosity, Nikko decided to look inside.

He was also interested in resting in the house if he was unable to find himself out of the forest by nighttime.

He entered the house through the front door.

-groans-

He groaned for no reason as he entered the home.

The inside was as he expected.

There is an old broken table and chairs that welcomed him as he entered.

The ceiling was full of spider cob and the entire house was covered in dust.

There was nothing else inside other than old stuff such as cups, plates, old books, old rotten clothes, and other daily items you can find in any other house.

He roamed around the house and found out that the reason it was abandoned was that the owner of the house was dead.

He managed to find evidence of the house getting attacked by monsters from the old wounds carved by monsters’ claws in the walls.

“Hmnn…” <Nikko>

He felt sorry for the original owner of the house and showed his respect.

As he was going around, he found an old one in one of the 2 rooms in the house.

“Alright….” <Nikko>

He opened the lid of the chest without expecting anything.

It was only an ordinary chest used to store useless stuff.

He also found a chest in the other room so he knows what things he could find in that chest.

He opened the chest and dust came flying into the air.

Inside was old pieces of equipment but it was too old and had rotten away by the flow of time.

There was an old leather armor, weapon holster, dagger, bag, and a shabby-looking sword inside.

-cough- -cough- -cough-

He coughed as dust entered his breath.

“Oh, the owner of this house must have been an adventurer like me.” <Nikko>

He concluded after seeing that it was a full set of equipment.

A type of equipment that a small-time adventurer would have.

He clasped his hands together and prayed to the dead.

He took the dagger and removed it from its sheathe.

The dagger was all rusty that it would be impossible to use it as a weapon.

He did the same with the sword.

But to his surprise, aside from the fact that its sheathes and its handle wraps are in a bad shape.

When he yanked the sword out of the sheathes, he was surprised to find that the blade was in perfect condition.

The sword shines brightly with the light and he could even see his reflection on the blade.

“Ohhh!!! This sword must be quite special to be in great condition.” <Nikko>

He inspected the sword and tried to swing it in the air.

With his swing, the sword made a nice swooshing sound.

“….” <Voice>

Nikko stopped moving after hearing something.

“???” <Nikko>

“Urggghhh.” <Voice>

He looked around and found nothing.

He tilted his head thinking that it was only his imagination.

“What’s happening.” <Nikko>

“?!” <Nikko>

Nikko heard an unfamiliar voice coming from nearby.

“Eh? What?” <Nikko>

Nikko looked around again looking for the source of the voice.

“HELLO? IS ANYBODY HERE?!” <Nikko>

He tightens his grip on the sword, preparing for the worst possible development.

He heightened his senses and waited for something to happen.

“Oi, you there!” <Voice>

Nikko heard the voice once again.

[There is it again, what? I think it said…]

“Oi, you there!” <Voice>

[Yes, it said, “Oi you there!”…]

This time he followed the origin of the voice.

It was toward his right side.

Nothing was there.

This time he was confused.

He felt that the sound came from there.

“Oi you there, down here!” <Voice>

“Down?” <Nikko>

It came from his right side once again but this time he looked down.

He saw a cockroach-like insect crawling there.

“Cockroach?” <Nikko>

“Cockroach?! I’m no cockroach what a rude fellow.” <Voice>

“WHAT?! A COCKROACH IS TALKING TO ME?!!! IS THIS A THING IN THIS WORLD TOO?” <Nikko>

He said in excitement.

He excitedly crouched down on the floor and started to greet the cockroach on the ground.

He placed the sword to the ground and lunged forward.

He rested his arms on the floor on all fours while looking at the insect in fascination.

“Hello, there little fellow… what’s your name?” <Nikko>

“Kukuku, now that you asked for thy name, I shall grant you thy name. It’s Matsuo Masahi.” <Voice/Masahi>

The owner of the voice introduced himself as Matsuo Masahi.

His way of speaking was quite peculiar.

It did not sound natural, as if it was trying to force itself to speak in such a manner.

Thinking about the fact that the voice gave a name that is quite familiar to the ears, Nikko replied.

“Oh, that sounds so Japanese…” <Nikko>

“Of course it is, I am Japanese!” <Masahi>

“What?!” <Nikko>

“The last thing I remember was going to sleep, then when I opened my eyes a saw a figure that I assume to be a goddess. And she said something about me reincarnating to another world.” <Masahi>

“Whoa, so you’re from Japan too? You’re from our world too? Reincarnated? What do you mean by reincarnated?” <Nikko>

Nikko asked.

He started talking to the insect on the ground like a lunatic.

If one would see him right now, they would think that this person has a few screws loose.

“Hah, I don’t expect normies to understand my words. It’s a well-known fact that once you find yourself in such a situation. The Goddess would explain how you died and talks about an alternate world it would lead to an “Isekai” route!” <Masahi>

“Hahaha, you sure sound like one of my classmates who like anime-related stuff… what do you call them again… otaku was it?” <Nikko>

“Are you looking down at us normie? Hah!!!… what a fool.” <Masahi>

Nikko became troubled as he was misunderstood to have thought that Nikko was looking down on him.

It was not his intention as he doesn’t have anything against such people who calls themselves otakus.

After all, he would watch anime and read mangas as a pastime.

He thinks that anime and things related to it are NOT bad.

But he does think that too much of it may cause some problematic stuff.

“Hah… anyway it’s nice to meet you, I’m Aoki Nikko, nice to meet you Matsuo Masahi-san.” <Nikko>

“Humu, nice to meet you… bide away…” <Masahi>

“Is there something else you have to say Masahi-san?” <Nikko>

“No, not really but I’ve been wondering why are you talking to that cockroach. That’s not me you know.” <Masahi>

“EH???” <Nikko>

As he heard that the one talking was not the cockroach, He looked around to find the source of the voice but he could not find any other soul other than the insect.

That insect was not where the voice came from.

As he was about to touch the insect the insect ran away into the crevice on the floor and got away.

He stood up and surveyed the room.

“What? Where are you.” <Nikko>

“Huh? Are you blind? Down here?” <Masahi>

“Down?” <Nikko>

Down looked at Nikko, but he did not see anyone or any living creature after looking down.

He carefully followed the origin of the voice.

Indeed it came from somewhere in the ground.

“What the fu---???” <Nikko>

He cursed, confused by the fact that he saw nothing out of the ordinary.

“I can’t see you… can you move so that I can determine where you are?” <Nikko>

“Hahaha, now that’s a problem, I’ve noticed that I am unable to move. I tried my best to do just that but I can’t seem to move my body. No, I can’t even feel my body, to be honest.” <Masahi>

“That’s a problem.” <Nikko>

As Nikko was thinking of where exactly the voice was originating from.

“odd…” <Nikko>

[He can't move his body, wait… didn’t he say earlier that God had informed him that he died?]

Nikko's eyes went wide.

[Don’t tell me… He's a GHOST!?] <Nikko>

As he thought of that possibility, all of the hair in his body stood up.

He felt cold and felt afraid.

“D-d-d-d-don’t tell me you’re a ghost…” <Nikko>

“What? No... I think...” <Masahi>

Nikko stepped back in preparation for running away.

“Huh? That’s not it!” <Masahi>

“How can you be sure?! I can’t even see you around and yet you’re talking to me. All I know is I’ve been talking to a spirit all this time.” <Nikko>

“Hah??? No! didn’t you hold me in your hand just a while ago?” <Masahi>

“Huh? In my hand? The only… thing… I… wait…” <Nikko>

He stopped talking, he seemed to have realized something

Nikko walked toward the sword he found earlier.

“Don’t tell me…” <Nikko>

“Oh…! See? You could actually hold me properly; this means that I am no ghost.” <Masahi>

“uh… I don’t know about that… you might be a ghost…” <Nikko>

“Huh?!” <Masahi>

“I did hear about cursed items before, an item being possessed by spirits.” <Nikko>

Nikko dropped the sword and stepped away.

“Oi! Why did you drop me? How rude of you!” <Masahi>

“What the hell? Don’t you even realize what you look like now?” <Nikko>

“How I look… How do I look in your eyes?” <Masahi>

“You’re a freaking sword.” <Nikko>

Matsuo Masahi remembers the last word the goddess said before he passed out.

[I see, since you like swords so much, you can become one.]

Those were the words of the goddess.

“Ah… I get what’s happening now…” <Masahi>

.

.

.

Matsuo Masahi explained what happened to Nikko.

Finally, the two came to an understanding of the general idea of what was happening.

The two concluded that the goddess who reincarnated Masahi miss understood his words and reincarnated him as a sword.

In all actuality, there was no misunderstanding on the part of the goddess.

She heard and understood the word of Masahi when he asked that he wants a Holy sword as a cheat item in his journey in this alternate world.

Out of her annoyance, the goddess of SoulCycle placed his soul inside a sword.

For some reason, Masahi thinks that gods would never do such mean action, which is why he conveniently thought that the god misunderstood his wish and ACCIDENTALLY turned him into a sword.

Nikko took Masahi in his care to investigate this fact and to look for a way to move his soul from the sword and get his body back.

They need to somehow find a way to communicate with the goddess who reincarnated Masahi in this world.

The two asked around the city.

They asked around the adventurer’s guild.

They looked to find a way to communicate with the goddess in one way or another.

“If you are looking for a way to communicate with the goddess then the only way is to ask the goddess oracle.” <Guild Receptionist>

The receptionist of the adventurer guild of the city said with her business talk.

“Oracle?” <Nikko>

“yeah, the goddess Oracle.” <Guild Receptionist>

“How can I find the goddess Oracle?” <Nikko>

“Hmmm, if it’s the oracle then the person you’re looking for is the Saint of Riles, Calm Estertale-sama.” <Guild Receptionist>

"I see, thank you very much." <Nikko>

With this information, the two of us ventured toward Riles to meet the goddess oracle, Calm Estertale.

*****************

Without the two knew there was an eye looking at the pair of boys through a magic ball-like object.

This personage was the same individual who is responsible for Masahi’s current situation.

Just now, she manipulated the Receptionist of the adventurer’s guild to guide them toward the city of Riles.

The goddess skillfully used her ability to control the minds of anything and everything with a soul.

She used the receptionist to direct the two toward the city of Riles.

The city where two mischievous goddesses prepared a huge event for people such as Aoki Nikko and Matsuo Masahi.

And just like the other heroes, the two moved according to what she wanted.

That includes a certain girl with bunny ears whom she dared to manipulate and direct to the city of Riles.

Looking at the two boys preparing for their departure.

She used her all-seeing (God Eyes) to look at the two’s fighting capability.
