God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: If You Kill My Subordinate, You Must Become My Subordinate

Giovani took the mask handed to him, but no matter how much he looked at it, he couldn't figure out its purpose.

The white-haired youth asked, "Mr. Giovani, what should we do next? I think this is a warning from the Black Dragon Gang."

Giovani slammed the table angrily.

"They dared to send a foolish old man to mess up my place this time! Next time, they'll send a normal guy to slit my throat! Let's deal with these bastards!"

After taking a couple of deep breaths, he tucked the smiling mask into his jacket and said, "But right now, there's something more important. Ethan Blake, the newly promoted captain of the City Bureau's Security Officer Unit, invited me to dinner. Mad Wolf, you'll come along with me later."

The white-haired youth looked confused.

The Security Officers existed to suppress underground forces that had members with combat-related awakenings.

Giovani had tried to meet with Ethan Blake many times but was always unsuccessful. Why would Blake want to meet now?

The white-haired youth quickly said, "Something's definitely up if it's this unusual, Mr. Giovani. Shouldn't we bring a few more people?"

Giovani waved it off. "Why bring so many people? We're legitimate businessmen!"

The South Special Seafood Buffet was located in the heart of the CBD. It was a buffet restaurant, with tickets costing only 499 solars.

The most distinctive feature of the place was that it had no open seating. The restaurant, with simple décor, consisted entirely of private dining rooms.

Given its prime location and low ticket price, the owner should have been losing money. But the owner wasn't foolish—the tickets were cheap, but they were hard to get. Reservations were required.

This wasn't the best place for company parties or romantic dates, but it was popular.

You could tell from the garage filled with luxury cars that this place wasn't just an ordinary buffet restaurant.

Giovani, accompanied by Mad Wolf, made his way to a private room on the third floor.

A beautiful waitress respectfully opened the door and invited them inside.

When Giovani saw Ethan Blake, who had been waiting for some time, he greeted him with a hearty laugh,

"Captain Blake! Congratulations! You've got a bright future ahead of you!" He took off his jacket and handed it to Mad Wolf.

Mad Wolf, knowing the routine, took out Giovani's phone from the jacket, along with his own, and placed both on the waitress's tray. The waitress bowed slightly and left.

Giovani sat down, lit a cigarette, and cheerfully said, "So, Captain Blake, you like buffets too? This place gives free drinks to members, and the prices are within government standards... I've already got you a membership card, so you can bring your wife and kids anytime."

The most interesting thing about this restaurant was that the money on the membership card could be refunded at any time.

In other words, however much money you put on the card, you could cash it out after deducting the service fee.

Ethan Blake frowned and replied, "There's no need for that. I came today to introduce you to a friend. I won't be coming here again."

This restaurant had excellent privacy, with no surveillance in certain areas.

Ethan, who wanted to avoid being linked to underground forces, didn't want to leave any evidence behind.

Giovani laughed heartily, "A friend of Captain Blake is a friend of mine! Mad Wolf, get a 100,000 solar membership card for Captain Blake's friend too!"

Ethan remained silent, refusing to respond to anything Giovani said, sipping his tea slowly.

Giovani was puzzled. Ethan clearly didn't want to engage with him and was only here for this so-called friend. What kind of friend could have this much influence?

Mad Wolf, on the other hand, was irritated.

Even if you're the captain of the Security Officer Unit, you can't disrespect my boss like this!

He asked in a slightly displeased tone, "Has the person Captain Blake invited arrived yet? Should I go down and welcome them?"

At that moment, the door opened, drawing the attention of everyone in the room.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Giovani glanced at the newcomer, slightly surprised. The person was dressed in a black tracksuit, with a hood pulled over their head.

The most peculiar thing was the crying ghost king mask covering their face. Could this person be a young master from some influential family, hiding their identity?

Giovani stood up in a friendly manner, extending his hand. "Hello, brother. I'm Giovani, the general manager of the Imperial Nightclub."

Alex slightly nodded, completely ignoring Giovani's outstretched hand, and walked straight to the main seat, sitting down.

Giovani felt a bit awkward. A flash of killing intent flickered in his eyes, but he quickly masked it with a smile.

They couldn't really think that the Imperial Nightclub was just a nightclub, could they? Even the newly appointed Commissioner wouldn't dare to be so disrespectful!

There's a saying, "new officials like to make a strong first impression." Giovani suspected that this was all a play by Ethan Blake, designed to intimidate him.

He shot a glance at Mad Wolf. Mad Wolf immediately understood.

Since his boss couldn't lose face due to his position, it was up to him, the subordinate, to be the troublemaker.

Mad Wolf spoke with a sarcastic tone.

"Captain Blake's friend doesn't seem to know the rules. Coming here with your face covered in a place like this, what are you..."

Alex interrupted softly. "Leave."

Giovani was angry. Since when was Mad Wolf your subordinate? You tell him to leave, and he just leaves? Don't they know you don't beat the dog without considering its owner?

Just as he was about to explode, Giovani was stunned to see Ethan Blake obediently stand up and walk toward the door. This masked man's background must be terrifying.

After the initial shock, Giovani watched Ethan Blake's retreating figure with an amused expression.

He pulled out a smiling mask from his jacket and said with a grin, "Friend, does this look familiar to you?"

Mad Wolf suddenly looked at the mask on Alex's face, realizing it was the same as the one worn by the man who wrecked their venue last night. Immediately, he stepped in front of Giovani, wind swirling between his fingers.

Mad Wolf used his ability to sense the surroundings, but there were no signs of other awakened beings lying in ambush. He shook his head toward Giovani.

Relieved, Giovani asked, "Have I ever offended you?"

Alex replied calmly, "He was a fool. I won't avenge him, so there's no need to be nervous."

Giovani lit another cigarette.

"Friend, I don't know what your intentions are, but after smashing my place, you'll have to give me some explanation."

A slight smile curled at the corner of Alex's mouth.

"Wear that mask, take his place, and become my subordinate. That's your explanation."

These words were arrogant, as if becoming Alex's subordinate was the greatest blessing.

Giovani chuckled in anger. "Hahaha, you sound like you're in your twenties at most. I don't know how you got Ethan Blake to submit to you, but thinking you can do the same with me? You're too young!"

Mad Wolf understood the signal. Wind spiraled around his fingers, and his body twisted at an impossible angle, lunging across the table to grab Alex's throat.

But suddenly, a burst of white flame erupted from Alex.

Mad Wolf's face twisted in shock as he quickly retreated, only to find his hands already burned.

Giovani's heart sank. One move to force back Mad Wolf?

His strongest bodyguard, who had the distinguished achievement of killing a B-rank opponent?

This masked man's talent had to be at least A-rank.

Could it be that Bluewater City, in addition to the new Commissioner, had another A-rank figure?

Giovani grew anxious, suddenly realizing that the mask in his hand was a symbol of some extraordinary organization.

He swallowed hard as Alex slowly walked toward him.

Alex lightly patted Giovani's tense shoulder, feeling a bit pleased inside. Just a few days ago, he wouldn't have even had the qualification to meet someone of Giovani's level.

He took a cigarette from Giovani's pack and lit it with his white flame. "I suppose I'm a businessman of sorts. If you killed my subordinate, you must become my subordinate. It's a fair trade."
