Chapter 10 -10-Acquiring a New Summoning Spell
Chapter 10: Chapter10-Acquiring a New Summoning Spell
Facing Harrison, the blood-red soul fire in the Skeleton General's eye sockets danced even more vibrantly.
It lunged forward, its longsword ruthlessly aiming a slash at Harrison.
Harrison only felt a shadow whisk by, unable to capture the Skeleton General's swift movement!
With an agility surpassing two hundred, this was an attribute only advanced players reaching level 50 could possess.
Compared to it, Harrison's 30-point agility seemed rather lackluster.
With a resonant "clang", the sharp edge of the Skeleton General's blade struck Harrison's stalwart Stone Shield.
The immense force behind the blade caused the seemingly diamond-hard shield to manifest a tiny fissure.
However, elements began swirling around Harrison, and in the blink of an eye, the Stone Shield was restored to its pristine state.
His eyes locked onto the Skeleton General.
"My turn!"
Without any further hesitation, Harrison unleashed the searing Scorching Beam.
The fierce flames engulfed the Skeleton General in an instant, triggering the burn effect.
The armor on the Skeleton General seemed to sense the power of the flames and began to ignite!
As he gazed upon the Skeleton General shrouded in fire, the sharpness in Harrison's eyes remained undiminished.
He could deeply sense the still-vibrant vitality of the Skeleton General.
With a constitution of three hundred, the Skeleton General boasted an astounding resistance to the fire.
At this moment, the Skeleton General had shed its armor, revealing its pristine and crystalline bones.
Whenever the flames touched, mysterious glyphs appeared on its bones.
This was the gift of resistance, bestowed by the exceptional constitution of the creature, derived from the very rules of this realm.
Harrison did not waver.
He felt no fear towards the Dark Gold-level BOSS before him.
It was only momentarily, due to the disparity in their attributes, that he was at a disadvantage.
The cooldown and duration of the Scorching Beam now perfectly aligned, creating a seamless barrage.
Under the relentless bombardment of the Scorching Beam, the sharp weapon in the Skeleton General's grasp began to gradually melt.
Drops of molten metal sizzled as they hit the ground.
The red glow in the Skeleton General's eye sockets intensified, and wisps of yellow poison began to waft around it.
However, the newly emerging poison was quickly incinerated by the intense flames.
Clearly, all of the Skeleton General's skills were now being countered by Harrison!
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
"Boom!"
The Skeleton General, in its fury, swung its fists wildly, striking relentlessly at Harrison's Stone Shield.
Those rock-solid skeletal fists, backed by gathered strength, sent plumes of dust flying with each blow against the Stone Shield.
Yet, through the power of the elements, Harrison rapidly mended the shield.
At this moment, the bones of the Skeleton General began to glow a faint red, seemingly reaching their limit of endurance.
A hint of surprise flashed in Harrison's eyes. The end for this creature was imminent.
The Skeleton General let out a guttural howl, reminiscent of the heartbreaking wails of the wind, as its bones began to disintegrate.
Without hesitation, Harrison, raising his wand, unleashed the Scorching Beam, pouring it out like a fierce torrential rain.
He was acutely aware of the regenerative abilities of such undead beings.
If he didn't obliterate it swiftly, the Skeleton General would rise once again.
Ultimately, under the relentless assault of the Scorching Beam, the bones of the Skeleton General disintegrated into fine ash.
Shortly thereafter, a golden luminescence seeped into Harrison's being.
His form flickered thrice.
Be it his wisdom, strength, agility, or constitution, all experienced a notable enhancement!
Moreover, the energy he had previously expended was now fully replenished.
Clenching his fists, joy radiated from every inch of his face.
The sensation of such rapid augmentation in power was truly exhilarating.
The Skeleton General had propelled him to advance by three whole levels.
Now, he stood at level 18!
Simultaneously, a dazzling orb of light emerged from the very spot where the Skeleton General had fallen.
"Loot drop!" Harrison exclaimed in excitement.
The drop rate from monsters was notoriously low.
Since his arrival in this wild terrain, he had only managed to obtain a pair of F-level shoes that augmented movement speed.
He wondered what treasures this BOSS might yield.
Extending his hand towards the radiant glow, he grasped.
A skill book now lay in Harrison's hand.
[Summoning Skeleton (F-level)]
[Description]: Summon a skeleton to fight on your behalf.
Gazing at the summoned skeleton, a surge of intense emotion welled up within Harrison.
The art of summoning was the treasure he had fervently longed for.
Once he reached level 20 and unlocked the Supreme Summoning talent, the entities he'd summon might very well surpass his own strength!
He reached out, gently tapping the book. In an instant, the skill book transformed into a stream of pure white light, seeping directly into the depths of Harrison's consciousness, bestowing upon him the arcane knowledge of summoning.
At this juncture, he had now mastered two major summoning techniques.
The most pressing matter at hand, of course, was to explore the strength of this summoned skeleton.
Lifting his wand and pointing it gently to the ground, a white magic circle began to materialize.
Within this magic array, the form of a skeleton slowly took shape, its appearance a stark contrast to that of the Skeleton General.
Its withered, earthy-yellow bones seemed so fragile that they might crumble at the mere touch of the wind.
The blade it held in its hand was covered in rust.
Driven by curiosity, Harrison swiftly examined the attributes of this skeleton.
[Skeleton Warrior]
[Level]: 18
[Rank]: Common
[Base Strength]: 55
[Base Constitution]: 20.6
[Base Agility]: 11.4
[Base Wisdom]: 2
[Talent]: None
[Skill]: Rustblade Strike.
[Rustblade Strike]: "Strike an enemy with the Rustblade, carrying a chance to inflict them with tetanus."
Although this skeleton's appearance seemed a bit rudimentary, Harrison understood that, compared to challengers of the same tier, the power this Skeleton Warrior possessed was exceptionally formidable.
At that moment, Harrison recalled his goblin.
The goblin jubilantly hopped about, the awe of its master's displayed power deeply ingrained in its very being. In tandem with Harrison, the goblin had evolved to level 18 as well.
Gazing upon his side-by-side Goblin Scout and Skeleton Warrior, joy swelled in Harrison's heart.
Suddenly, he speculated that there might be a Dimensional Fissure near the Skeleton General's vicinity.
He inquired of the goblin, "Where did that monster appear? Take me there."
The goblin nodded gently, replying, "On a rocky shore. I'll lead the way, master."
With that, the goblin bounded energetically towards the location they'd just been.
As they delved deeper, they finally arrived at the stone shore.
Harrison's eyes confirmed what he had suspected: there, before him, was the Dimensional Fissure.
Streaming within the fissure was a confluence of black and white energies. It wasn't wide, and it was gradually closing up. Through it, Harrison could faintly discern a churning sea of skeletons.
Clearly, this was a fissure leading to the wraith dimension.
Perhaps the Skeleton General, due to some mishap, had accidentally found its way here.
Of note was that every Skeleton General typically possessed strength equivalent to level 70 or above. However, due to the cosmic balance, what should've been a level 70 Skeleton General had its power diminished, brought down to level 18.
This level 18 setting corresponded to the highest level among players.
This realization sent a chill down Harrison's spine.
Amongst these countless players, those with powerful talents were as numerous as stars in the sky. More than ever, he understood the urgency of leveling up!
