The room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of Tsunade’s words settling over them like a dark cloud. Hashirama’s usually gentle eyes were filled with a rare, burning anger, while Tobirama's face was set in a grim mask.
"The Uchiha have always been a problem," Tobirama said finally, his voice cold and hard. "But to think it has come to this…"
Hashirama took a deep breath, his anger simmering beneath the surface. "Tsunade, what happened after you discovered the ruins?"
Tsunade took a deep breath, preparing to continue her explanation. The room's atmosphere was heavy with the weight of the past and the uncertain future. "At first, I couldn't find anything in the Uzumaki ruins," she began, her voice steady despite the flood of memories. "But later, by sheer coincidence, my blood dripped on one of the seals. It opened up another dimension within the village, where I discovered that the Uzumaki hadn't truly perished. They had decided to hide and pretend to be dead."
Hashirama let out a sigh of relief, his shoulders relaxing slightly. "Thank goodness," he murmured, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
Tobirama, on the other hand, looked proud. "She mastered my clone jutsu, it seems," he said, a rare hint of pride in his voice.
Tsunade giggled, the sound a brief reprieve from the tension. Seeing her usually stern granduncle act proud was a rare sight. "Yes, Grandma Mito mastered the Body Split Technique and used it on every villager, including herself, fooling the other villages into believing that the Uzumaki Clan had perished. But sadly, they couldn't leave the seal, as the Shinigami was conditioned to be sealed there if the Uzumaki were also sealed behind the dimension."
At the mention of the Shinigami, both Hokage clenched their fists. "Shinigami," Tobirama hissed, his eyes narrowing with anger.
Hashirama urged her to continue, his voice filled with concern. "Then what happened?"
Tsunade explained, "After I explained to Grandma what had happened to the village, she researched and recognized the power of Shisui and how to break it. The only thing that can break a person from that Genjutsu is the Uzumaki's Adamantine Sealing Chains."
Tobirama nodded in comprehension, his mind working quickly. "Of course! Those seals can even suppress Tailed Beasts," he said, his researcher mode fully awakened. "With those chains, suppressing or destroying the effects of the Mangekyo Sharingan should be as easy as breathing."
Tsunade nodded, feeling a sense of vindication. "Sadly, there weren't many Uzumaki outside of the seal, and those who were couldn't master the chains."
The Hokages nodded, realizing the depth of their plans. Tobirama, ever the skeptic, asked, "And that brat. Seems like he was assisting your plan. Isn't he an evil Uchiha?" He almost spat the word "Uchiha," his disdain evident.
Tsunade rolled her eyes, exasperated by his prejudice. "Horyu is part of our plan. Actually, without him, I wouldn't have been able to move far. He is even more determined to make things right."
Hashirama laughed, the sound rich and hearty, while Tobirama said, "Oh, I see, he is an okay Uchiha."
Tsunade tilted her head, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Do you mean a good Uchiha?"
Tobirama shook his head, his expression serious. "Tsuna, a good Uchiha is a dead Uchiha. The rest are evil Uchiha, and from time to time, there are a few okay Uchiha."
Tsunade sighed, knowing her granduncle's prejudice ran deep. But she also knew that Horyu was different, and she hoped that in time, Tobirama would see that too.
Inside the command center, Horyu received a report from a Jonin. Casualties were minimal, with only a few Jonin lost. Considering their enemies were the formidable League of Immortals, this was an acceptable outcome. Horyu couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction.
"I handled this beautifully," Horyu thought, a slight grin forming. "Now, with two Hokage back, Shisui cannot rule without worry. But the Hokages won’t attack Shisui first with the war at our door. Their priorities will be handling other villages, then Konoha. By then, I will have enough power to do whatever I want."
Horyu's eyes flicked to the large map spread out before him. Markers indicated enemy movements and defensive positions. He knew every decision now could shape the future of Konoha.
At the cloud front, Sarutobi Hiruzen led the Konoha forces, his presence commanding and resolute. The opposing army was a formidable sight, with A, the Fourth Raikage, standing tall and imposing. Beside him was his brother, Killer Bee, the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki, his expression a mix of amusement and readiness.
A's eyes narrowed as he spotted Hiruzen. "You old fool. Even after retirement, you came to seek death," he sneered, though there was a hint of respect in his tone. Despite his harsh words, A knew that Hiruzen was not to be underestimated. Age had not dulled the Third Hokage's edge; it had only honed his wisdom, making him a formidable opponent. Hiruzen’s reputation was well-earned; his wisdom and experience in battle were unparalleled. A warrior who lived to old age in their line of work was either a coward or a formidable enemy, and A knew Hiruzen was no coward.
Hiruzen met A's gaze with unwavering calm. "I came to protect my village and its people," he said, his voice steady. "If that means facing you, so be it."
The tension between the two leaders was palpable, a clash of wills that set the stage for the battle to come. Around them, shinobi from both sides prepared, their expressions a mix of determination and apprehension.
Hiruzen's eyes scanned the battlefield, noting the positions of his allies and enemies. He knew that every decision he made would impact the outcome of the battle. He raised his hand, signaling his forces to move into position. "Stay alert," he commanded. "We must hold the line at all costs."
A chuckled, his muscles tensing in anticipation. "Let's see if you can keep up, old man." With a burst of speed, he charged towards Hiruzen, his lightning chakra crackling around him.
At the border of the Wind Country, the tension was palpable. Shisui Uchiha stood with Itachi, leading the Uchiha forces toward the advancing Sand ninja. The leader of the Sand, Rasa, was seething with anger, his gold dust swirling around him in a menacing display of power.
The recent kidnapping of his son, Gaara, by a rogue group of Uchiha had ignited a fury in Rasa that was almost uncontrollable. Despite Shisui's attempts to explain that the kidnapping had nothing to do with him or his forces, Rasa's trust was shattered, and he was beyond reasoning.
"Itachi, we need to end this quickly," Shisui said, his eyes scanning the enemy ranks. "If we can defeat Rasa, we can support the other battlefronts with our strength."
Itachi nodded, his Sharingan spinning lazily. "Understood. We need to be decisive."
Rasa, standing at the forefront of his troops, glared at Shisui. "Your words mean nothing, Uchiha! You will pay for what your clan has done!" He thrust his hands forward, sending a wave of gold dust toward Shisui and Itachi.
Shisui moved with blinding speed, his form flickering as he dodged the attack. "You leave me no choice, Rasa." He drew his katana, its blade gleaming in the harsh sunlight. "Itachi, cover me."
