The next day at the Academy unfolded with a familiar rhythm, the morning dedicated to theoretical lessons, but Horyu's mind was elsewhere. He was already strategizing for the afternoon's Taijutsu Tournament where he would face Choji Akimichi.
As they gathered outside for the tournament, Horyu's eyes were fixed on Choji, analyzing him as a combatant. Choji, known for his immense strength and size, presented a different kind of challenge. Horyu's newly honed skills would be put to the test.
"Uchiha Horyu versus Akimichi Choji!" Iruka announced, his voice cutting through the murmurs of the gathered students.
The two faced each other, the contrast in their physiques stark. Choji's larger frame towered over Horyu, but there was a glint of confidence in Horyu's eyes.
"You're going down, Uchiha," Choji declared, a hint of overconfidence in his voice.
Horyu smirked slightly. "We'll see about that."
As the match began, Choji charged with a thunderous yell, his body seeming to gain momentum like a boulder rolling downhill. Horyu, light on his feet, used his enhanced agility to effortlessly sidestep the first charge, watching Choji lumber past him.
Choji, undeterred, spun around for another attack. Horyu, anticipating the move, ducked under Choji's outstretched arm and delivered a swift kick to his side. The kick, though precise, barely seemed to affect the larger boy.
"Is that all you've got?" Choji taunted, swinging his arm in a wide arc to catch Horyu.
Horyu leaped back, narrowly avoiding the hit. 'He's strong, but slow,' he thought. 'I need to use that.'
The match continued, with Choji trying to land a powerful blow and Horyu evading each attempt. The crowd was on edge, watching the agile Uchiha dance around the powerful but slower Akimichi.
Horyu's plan was working; with each miss, Choji was getting more frustrated and tired, his movements becoming slower and more predictable. It was time for Horyu to strike.
As Choji lunged forward with a grunt, Horyu saw his opening. He sidestepped and, using Choji's momentum against him, pushed him forward. Choji stumbled, trying to regain his balance.
Horyu didn't waste a moment. He darted in, delivering a series of quick, targeted strikes to Choji's joints, using his agility to keep moving, making it hard for Choji to counter. Each hit was calculated to cause serious harm, wearing Choji down bit by bit.
Choji, now clearly struggling, tried to regain control of the match. He performed a sweeping leg kick, attempting to knock Horyu off his feet. But Horyu, expecting such a move, jumped high, flipping over Choji.
Landing gracefully behind Choji, Horyu wasted no time. He launched a precise kick to the back of Choji's knee, a weak point he had identified. Choji buckled under the unexpected blow, falling to one knee.
The crowd gasped, surprised at the turn of events. Choji, one of the strongest in their year, was now at a disadvantage.
Seizing the moment, Horyu launched himself at Choji, his body a blur of motion. With Choji on one knee, vulnerable, Horyu knew this was his chance to end the fight. He aimed a powerful kick at Choji's back, but at the last second, Choji rolled away, narrowly avoiding the strike.
Choji, now fully aware of Horyu's agility, stood up with a grunt, his face set in determination. "Not bad, Uchiha, but I'm not done yet," he growled, readying himself for another attack.
Horyu didn't respond verbally, his focus absolute. He observed Choji's movements, each muscle twitch, each slight shift in weight. He knew that Choji's strength was formidable, but his size also made him slower.
The two circled each other, the tension palpable. Choji made the first move, rushing towards Horyu with surprising speed for his size. Horyu dodged to the side, but Choji anticipated the move and swung his arm, catching Horyu off-guard and sending him flying.
Horyu hit the ground hard, pain shooting through his body. He quickly rolled to his feet, refusing to show any sign of weakness. 'He's stronger than I thought,' Horyu admitted to himself, reassessing his strategy.
Choji charged again, but this time Horyu was ready. He ducked under Choji's outstretched arm and delivered a swift strike to his abdomen. Choji staggered back, winded by the unexpected blow.
Horyu didn't let up, pressing his advantage. He launched a series of quick jabs, each one aimed at Choji's vital points. Choji tried to block, but Horyu's speed was overwhelming.
Choji, growing more frustrated, roared and unleashed a barrage of powerful strikes, hoping to crush Horyu with sheer force. Horyu, however, used his enhanced agility to evade each attack, his movements a dance of precision and speed.
Horyu was feeling the strain of the battle. His body ached from Choji's powerful strikes, and his breath came in short, sharp gasps. 'Even with Swift Evasion, I am still not fast enough,' he thought, frustration creeping into his mind. If he was struggling this much against Choji, the thought of facing Sasuke seemed daunting. But Horyu wasn't one to back down from a challenge, and he certainly wasn't going to start now.
"Is that all you've got, Uchiha?" Choji taunted, his confidence growing with each passing second.
Horyu wiped the sweat from his brow, his eyes narrowing. 'Time to change tactics,' he thought. He couldn't rely solely on evasion; he needed to be more aggressive.
As Choji advanced, Horyu feigned a dodge to the left, but at the last moment, he spun to the right, catching Choji off guard. He delivered a sharp kick to Choji's side, followed by a quick punch to his abdomen. Choji grunted in surprise, his movements momentarily faltering.
"Didn't see that coming, did you?" Horyu taunted, a rare smirk on his face.
Choji, regaining his composure, charged again, his fists like hammers. Horyu danced around the strikes, each movement calculated and precise. He needed to wear Choji down, to exploit the brief moments when the larger boy was vulnerable.
The two exchanged blows, Horyu's agility pitted against Choji's raw strength. Each strike from Choji was a test of Horyu's endurance, while Horyu's counterattacks were a testament to his skill and strategy.
As the battle continued, both fighters were visibly tiring, but neither was willing to concede. Horyu knew he had to end this quickly. He couldn't afford to let this drag on; Choji's strength was too great a risk.
Horyu dodged another of Choji's punches, then saw his chance. He quickly moved behind Choji, grabbed his arm, and used his momentum to flip the larger boy over his shoulder. Choji hit the ground with a thud, the air knocked out of him.
The crowd gasped, amazed at the display of skill from Horyu. Choji, however, was not defeated yet. He pushed himself up, a determined look on his face.
But Horyu was not merciful enough to wait for Choji to recover fully. Utilizing all his agility abilities, and his newly enhanced agility stats, he swiftly appeared in front of Choji. Without a hint of hesitation, he seized Choji's head in a firm grip and delivered a brutal knee to the fat boy's face.
Choji's head snapped back with the impact, and a collective gasp rose from the crowd. Horyu, his expression cold and calculated, didn't relent. He followed up with a swift elbow strike to Choji's chest, pushing him further off balance.
Horyu charged forward, his eyes glinting with a mix of determination and a hint of ruthlessness. "This is my chance," he muttered under his breath, seeing Choji's defenses falter. He launched a flurry of precise and powerful strikes, targeting the larger boy's vulnerable points.
Choji, dazed from the knee to his face, tried to raise his arms in defense, but he was too slow. Horyu's relentless assault continued, each strike delivered with surgical precision. A hard punch to the gut sent Choji staggering back, gasping for air.
Horyu, seizing the opportunity, leapt up, spinning in the air, and delivered a devastating roundhouse kick to the side of Choji's head. The impact sent Choji crashing to the ground, a small trail of blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
The crowd was silent, shocked by the intensity of Horyu's attack. Even Iruka, who had seen many battles, was taken aback by the ferocity displayed by the young Uchiha.
Shikamaru, watching from the sidelines, clenched his fists in anger. His eyes narrowed as he saw his friend Choji lying on the ground, bloodied and defeated. "That's too far, Horyu," he muttered, his usual lazy demeanor replaced by a rare flash of anger.
Horyu, however, was unfazed by the reactions of those around him. He stood over Choji, his breathing heavy but controlled.
Horyu only smirked, his gaze fixed on the fallen Choji. Obviously, Shikamaru didn't remember the times Choji played with him like a ball in the past. Or perhaps he chose to ignore it. That was the hypocrisy of these people. They wouldn't care about justice until it involved them or their loved ones.
