Game of Extermination

Training

He kicked what remained of the bed bug back into the hole. Even dead, they are disgusting for him to look at.

But after the carcass went in, three more bed bugs crawled out and tried to make their way towards him. He kept on smashing them and with three swings, he crushed them. He again kicked them aside.

Then five more bugs came out.

This time, he backed up a little and he smashed two bugs that are closest to him. One died, but the other got half crushed but is still crawling with one side of the legs. He shifted his attention to the remaining three and crushed them rapidly. After that he came back to the half-beaten bug and killed it.

But this time, he didn’t have time to kick them back into the hole, he can only smash the remaining bugs that are coming.

The seven bugs. This time he didn’t even bother to take a full fledged swing. He only lifted halfway and used its weight to smash the bugs bit by bit. He now understood why some people had such a short time here, it is easy to get tired here. The last on the ranking list only managed to stay here for one minute and two seconds.

Aditya looked around and ran to a different position, the bugs started coming towards him but they are really slow. He thought of something and he kicked one of bugs. It flew away and hit the wall, before it landed down. Its shell cracked a little bit and some liquid seeped out of it, but it is still walking towards him.

He smiled a bit and kicked another bug away which gave him some time to smash the remaining bugs.

For every wave two bugs are increasing and the next wave only comes when the previous wave is completely over.

He waited for the two bugs he kicked away to make their way towards him slowly while watching the hole. The bugs are indeed crawling up, but it seems like an invisible barrier is making them unable to come out of the hole.

So, as soon as he finished with the remaining two bugs they will come at him.

He thought of something and kicked the carcass beside him to the hole and it went through. But it didn’t go too deep as it was blocked by the bugs that are trying to come out and it looked it was being carried by them.

He smashed the remaining two bugs and looked at the hole.

The bugs immediately came out as if their nest was poked and they made their way towards him. He stood right beside the hole as he started smashing them left and right, trying to throw them back into the hole. When he saw that their numbers are accumulating, he kicked the bugs to the side and finished the ones off in his hand before throwing them away.

The situation went on and on.

His first minute was over and he is dealing with a wave of nine bugs. By this point, he made up his mind that he doesn’t want to know what will happen if he really stayed for an hour inside this place.

His guess is that the room would be completely full of bugs if that happened.

So, he felt a bit terrified. After all, all the insects and bugs are his enemies. Mosquitoes might be the top of the list, but the rest of the insects are not exactly his friends.

The very thought of being surrounded by these bugs made him feel shivers down his spine and he increased his pace of hitting.

The wave of 13 bugs is over and then came the fifteen, he kicked the first five away and dealt the with the ten bugs. He swung the hammer sideways to sweep them while causing damage so that they wouldn’t accumulate in one place. If they did, he will not have any place to move around.

After fifteen came seventeen, nineteen, twenty-one, twenty-three… and so on.

Before he knew it, with that soul searing hatred towards these things, he spent half an hour inside this place and that is more half of the people who attempted this package.

But after the half-an-hour, he got a breathing space for a thirty seconds and the carcasses disappeared. The blood and the stains on the walls and floor remained there. They added some color to this grey world in front of him.

He didn’t have the mind to enjoy it though.

He is covered in sweat and he is panting. He couldn’t understand where he got all his strength from but he really swung that sledgehammer for over half an hour.

He turned to Ram who is looking at him and asked.

“What would happen, if the bugs get to me?”

[What would the bed bugs do? They bite and suck your blood.]

Aditya froze on the spot as he imagined a basketball sized bed bug biting him and then the image went from one bug biting him to ten bugs biting him, he almost shat in his pants as he shivered.

“Is that how this is going to end?”

[Of course, that is the only way. If you want to give up. You just have to lay there on the ground and let them have their feast, you would go back. Otherwise you would have to fight.]

“Holy fuck. Can I get a refund on this? What kind of psychotic shit head created this?”

[I do not know the answer to this question.]

“It was rhetorical, old man.”

As he spoke, the next wave came out. This time, the size of the bug is a bit bigger than the last one and only one came at the moment.

It is a bit slower than the first one but it is really big and he could almost see its teeth or whatever that it has.

Aditya swung the hammer and the bug was smashed. But it didn’t turn into a paste like the one before. The central part of it was crushed, while the head and limbs are mostly intact.

He kicked the head to the side and waited for the next three to come.

This time only two could climb out of that hole at a time because of their size. This gave him some extra time to deal with the third one. The pace at which he killed these second wave bugs is not that much different than before.

He felt sore all over his body and he felt tired, but when he looked at the bugs that are crawling towards him, he felt extremely terrified. He found that unknown energy inside his body to smash them to mush and kick them away.

His obsession is coming into handy.

After another forty minutes, he finished the wave with twenty-five bugs of this kind and got another breathing space.

He took the head of the bug into his hands, while the cleaning process is happening. He was surprised to see that the head of the bug did not disappear and just stayed in his hands. It disappeared into thin air only when he threw it away.

His body is covered in sweat and all kinds of liquids that came out of those bugs, his stink is so unbearable and his arms are shaking a bit.

But when he looked at the next bug that came out of it, he gritted his teeth and stood up.

This one is just like the first type of bug, but its body is shiny. It has a faint metallic sheen that made it look like it was made of steel.

He walked forward and smashed it in. H was stunned by what he saw.

It didn’t just die like the bugs before.

There is a large indentation on its top surface along with a large crack from which some liquid seeped out and the speed of the bug obviously slowed down by a lot.

He took a deep breath and smashed it again and this time the bug died.

Aditya picked the head and looked. The front limbs of these things are unusually sharp and he also noticed teeth in their heads. Just like before, but suddenly remembered something, beg bugs don’t have teeth.

Their mouth is like a vacuum pump that sucks the blood out of the skin, they don’t actually take a bite.

He didn’t study much, but he knew that much. Anyway, none of what he saw in front of it is exactly anything close to the reality he knew, so he just brushed it off and looked at the next set of the bugs that are coming at him.

He swung his hammer and sent one to the wall while he dealt with the remaining two.

This set of waves will take a lot longer than he thought, but he is not planning on giving up. He would rather die of exhaustion in this place than get bitten by one of these things.
