Chapter 2 - Labyrinth of the Dead
Labyrinth of the Dead, Gravis, is a dungeon that spawned during the era of creation. It is one of the six oldest and impossible dungeons, and is actually the easiest one of them. According to the guilds information, it has 15 stages that spans downward. It is still not conquered yet up to this day since the last stage has a powerful ‘Dungeon Lord’. It is said that it is an immortal monster that uses the power of necromancy to resurrect itself, which is why it is called an impossible dungeon. It has a danger rank of Iron, but the rank of the Dungeon Lord is Silver. And that impossible dungeon is what we are traversing right now.
“It is really creepy in here, and has a horrible stench because of all the undead.” (Crystallis)
“It really fits for its name. Although we are already far away from the graveyard area, we can still smell the rotting smell of the zombies.” (Molaris)
We are currently at the 5th stage of the labyrinth, it is called the ‘Great Graveyard Stage’ because of the tombstones that is scattered around, almost filling up the whole stage, forming a big graveyard. The monsters here are mostly zombies and ghosts, but it also has a guardian called the ‘Graveyard Keeper’ or ‘Grave-keeper’ that we need to defeat before we can advance to the next stage.
“This stage is much more annoying than the previous places, they just keep popping out of nowhere.” (Cassius)
“Well, the monsters from the previous stages are just skeletons and skeleton warriors.” (Scorpius)
“Scorpius acidic venom is really helpful though, since it can melt not just the flesh, but also bones.” (Cyan)
“Of course! Erasing trash and evidence are things that I fully well know.” (Scorpius)
The three started laughing while looking in my direction. The two people that that idiot is talking to are his party members. The one with a purple hair and is wearing a lab coat on top of his leather armor is Scorpius, a chemist. And the one with a bow and is wearing a white robe with a hood is called Cyan.

“Just don’t mind them. They won’t make a move, not with this many people around.” (Rufus)
“And what are you doing here?” (Adrienne)
“Don’t be like that. I’m just checking you out.” (Rufus)
“I can handle myself even if they make a move. You shouldn’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong.” (Adrienne)
“I told you. We should just leave him alone, he is as creepy as this place.” (Flora)
“Don’t say that Flora. He is also part of this expedition, so we should keep an eye on each other. Safety is our top priority.” (Rufus)
“Rufus! I always told you to choose your words carefully. You made it sound like he is dangerous.” (Clare)
“To be honest, he is actually dangerous.” (Callan)
“Be quiet for a moment Callan.” (Clare)
And another annoying party has come. These are the members of the party ‘Ruby Wings’. Their leader is the red-haired airhead Rufus.

Flora is a blue-haired, small girl that looks like on her teens, she is loud and annoying. She is part of the Fairy Race, a Pixie to be exact. That’s why she can handle elemental magic, more powerful than human can. Next is the uptight girl with brown hair that always scold people. Her name is Clare, and she is the main brain of the party. And the last one is Callan, a big man with muscular body. He doesn’t talk much but he is a straight forward guy.
“If you’re here just to make noise, then just go away. I don’t need more annoying things around me.” (Adrienne)
“Alright, you guys just stop it.” (Rufus)
“Tch.” (Flora)
“We’re sorry for the noise.” (Clare)
“…” (Callan)
“We just really came here to check you out. It looks like you’re doing okay so we will just go on our way.” (Rufus)
“Just do what you want.” (Adrienne)
Then they walked away, but one of them stopped and turn around. She started staring at me, much like reading my body language.
“Still have something to say?” (Adrienne)
“…Nothing.” (Clare)
I don’t know what’s up with that woman, suddenly staring at people then walking away after saying nothing. But before I can say something to her, a report from one of the church soldiers came.
“It’s here! The Grave-Keeper has spawned!”
“Everyone, in your positions! Soldiers protect the Saintess! Lure them out according to the plan! Adventurers, do what you have to do!”
“They really are slave drivers.” (Molaris)
“Shut up! This is our job, just do what you have to do.” (Crystallis)
“They really are a lively couple. Alright, we should also do what we must do.” (Rufus)
“Then stick to the plan. We will engage the Keeper after they lured the summons.” (Clare)
“Let’s get into it, I want this mission to end and go home to take a bath.” (Flora)
“…” (Callan)
“This is going to be fun!” (Cyan)
“Let’s see how tough you are against my acids.” (Scorpius)
“Watch your back Death Bringer, you might get hurt from stray attacks.” (Cassius)
“I don’t need an idiot to remind me something obvious.” (Adrienne)
“Stop that now! Here it comes! Prepare to intercept!” (Clare)
A single monster came out from the darkness of the stage. It looks like a skeleton slightly bigger than Callan, it is wearing ripped clothes and have a shovel as a weapon. It has an eerie aura, in a form of miasma, surrounding it.
Grave-Keeper (Undead)
Danger Rank: Iron
Class Piece: Rook
Class Skill: Corpse Guardian
Innate Skill: Summon Undead
*Shriek!*
With a loud shriek from the keeper, zombies and skeletons were being summoned. And at that moment the miasma being released became thick and was absorb by the summons, which strengthened their offensive and defensive powers. And with that as a sign, our battle began.
