Ch1- Kai the Orphan
This novel primarily focuses on MC's attempts to finding purpose in life and sex, and while the ages of some characters may differ, I mostly follow the canon. Unlike other novels, the MC will not be in all of the events. His goal in life is to find a goal in his existence. It is a bit dystopian, and dark.
All characters with whom the MC will have sexual encounters are above the legal age, and other characters will not be present during adult scenes.
I may change some of the unexplained or vague parts to fit my novel. Consider yourself warned: this is a fanfiction, not a transcript of the manga.

Kai was born on a cold, moonless night in a small, isolated village on the fringes of the Land of Fire. The village, plagued by poverty and despair, had no formal ninja clan or training program. The lack of any semblance of protection left its residents vulnerable to attacks from neighboring villages and ruthless rogue ninja. Throughout Kai's childhood, the village was constantly under siege, and many of its buildings and homes were reduced to rubble in the fighting.
The air was thick with the stench of fear and loss, casting a heavy shadow over the village. But within the shadows, Kai was a beacon of resilience and resourcefulness. Though he was orphaned at an early age, he quickly learned how to scavenge for food and supplies among the ruins of his village, barely surviving on the scraps left behind by war.
As a young child, Kai had already become intimately acquainted with the cruelty of the world. He knew that he couldn't rely on anyone but himself to survive in this godforsaken place. His days were consumed with scavenging for anything that could fill his aching belly, and his nights were spent huddled in the remnants of what used to be a home.
Kai became skilled at hiding from enemy forces, his heart pounding in his chest as he cowered in the shadows, praying that he wouldn't be discovered. He would listen to the screams of his neighbors as they were hunted down by rogue ninja, each cry for help tearing at his soul. But he was just a child, powerless to help them.
When Kai was seven years old, his situation grew even more desperate. His small body was weak and emaciated from months of scarce rations and constant fear. One day, driven by a gnawing hunger that threatened to consume him, Kai found himself digging in the cold, unforgiving ground for roots and tubers to eat.
Kai's hands, small and frail, were covered in cuts and dirt as he clawed at the earth, tears streaming down his cheeks. He muttered to himself, "I can't give up. I have to survive. There has to be something here."
His voice was weak, barely a whisper, but it carried a determination that belied his fragile appearance. As he dug deeper, his hand brushed against something sharp and unexpected. Blood trickled from his fingers as he hissed in pain.
Too hungry and weak to care, Kai kept digging, not realizing that his life was about to change forever. Unbeknownst to him, a mysterious purple card lay hidden in the soil, and as his blood seeped into the earth, it activated the card's power.
The Divine Purple Card, sensing the desperation and determination in Kai's blood, decided to help this pitiful child. The card entered Kai's body through his cut hand, and slowly, it began to feed him chakra, like a mother nurturing her starving child.
As Kai continued to dig, he could feel a warmth growing within him, chasing away the ever-present chill in his bones. The energy of the card flowed through his body, soothing his aching muscles and revitalizing his spirit.
Too comfortable with the energy keeping him warm after countless cold nights, and tired due to hunger, Kai staggered back to his cardboard shelter and crawled into sleep, not knowing if he would wake up. When he did, hours later, energized, full, and warm, he was surprised. He had NEVER felt like this before. Never. He couldn't remember anything like this.
Not knowing what was causing it, but growing up the way he did, he knew to protect anything valuable. Whatever it was that helped him, he had no intention of sharing it with others.
As he left the cardboard shelter to look around—just because he woke up full didn't mean he would stay that way forever, and now that he had energy, it was the best time to look for more food—he saw Konoha Shinobi, arrogant and cruel as ever, examining the children around. They would come often to snatch talented children from his village to raise in Konoha after a systematic brainwash. Every child wanted to be selected by them. Not knowing what happened to those children, but whatever it was, it was probably better than what they were experiencing.
The strange thing was, this time, Kai could see a blue membrane surrounding these Konoha Shinobi. They were calm and soothing. He didn't know what it was, but he knew he shouldn't look too long, lest he draw attention to himself. He just watched with the corner of his eyes, to see if he could pick anything up.
Kai further realized that there were small blue dots floating in the air as well. Whatever those membranes surrounding those shinobi were, it entered their bodies from the air, then mixed with theirs. An answer suddenly came to his mind: chakra. Every being was born with chakra in the world, but only Shinobi could use it. Chakra was the greatest weapon in the world, as it could be seen from the haughty shinobi that being able to practice chakra meant having the strength to be arrogant.
Determined not to draw attention to himself, Kai withdrew silently and hid in his cardboard shelter to focus on the blue dots in the air. Since he could see them, maybe he could influence them. After an hour of trying, he managed to draw a single wisp of chakra and introduce it into his body. A tingling sensation flowed through him, and he couldn't help but let out a small gasp.
Kai's heart raced as he felt the chakra course through him. He had never experienced anything like this before, but somehow, it felt familiar. It was as if the chakra had always been a part of him, waiting to be discovered.
Kai took a deep breath and tried to focus on the chakra, attempting to guide it through his body. He struggled at first, but with each passing moment, he grew more confident in his ability to control it. He could feel the energy flowing through his veins, his heart pumping with newfound strength.
In the quiet of his shelter, Kai spoke to himself, his voice quivering with emotion. "I can do this. I can use chakra. I can survive."
He spent the following days practicing in secret, drawing chakra from the air and experimenting with it. As he grew more adept at controlling the energy, he began to notice a change in himself. His body grew stronger, his reflexes quicker, and his senses sharper. He felt alive for the first time in his life.
One day, as Kai ventured out to scavenge for food, he stumbled upon a group of Konoha Shinobi harassing a young girl from his village. She was backed against a wall, her eyes wide with fear as the shinobi towered over her.
Kai, despite feeling indignant, knew better than to meddle in their business. Although he had started to use chakra, he was still a bug in front of full-fledged Shinobi. Watching from afar, he waited, hoping someone would come to the girl's aid.
Soon, a Samaritan arrived, as they always did. It was an old man with a bald head, little patches of hair, and wrinkled skin. He approached the Konoha Shinobi with a defiant stance, his eyes burning with determination.
"What do you think you're doing?" the old man demanded, his voice quivering with barely-contained anger. "Leave the girl alone. She has nothing to do with your schemes."
The Shinobi sneered, clearly unimpressed by the old man's bravado. "You're in no position to make demands, old man," one of them said, his voice dripping with contempt. "This girl has potential. We're taking her to Konoha, where she'll be trained as a proper shinobi."
"You have no right to take her!" the old man shouted, his fists clenched. "This village has suffered enough because of you. I won't let you take another child!"
The Shinobi exchanged amused glances before turning their attention back to the old man. "You think you can stop us? Pathetic," one of them scoffed.
In response, the old man drew a deep breath, gathering chakra within his body. As he did, the air around him crackled with energy, and Kai's eyes widened as he saw the intricate flow of chakra within the old man's body.
"I won't let you take her without a fight," the old man declared, his voice filled with resolve.
The Konoha Shinobi laughed, clearly not taking the old man seriously. "Very well, have it your way," the leader of the group said, smirking. "You'll regret this, old man."
With that, the battle began. The old man started by weaving hand signs, forming a series of seals that Kai recognized as the basis for ninjutsu. As he did, Kai saw the chakra within the old man's body move in response, flowing through specific pathways as he channeled it into the jutsu.
The old man's hands erupted in a burst of flame, which he directed towards the Shinobi. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" he shouted, as a massive ball of fire hurtled through the air.
The Konoha Shinobi deftly dodged the attack, countering with their own jutsu. One of them formed hand signs, summoning a fierce whirlwind that knocked the old man off balance. Another Shinobi stepped forward, his hands crackling with electricity, and lunged at the old man with a devastating lightning strike.
"Lightning Style: Lightning Blade!" the Shinobi yelled, as he thrust his electrified hand towards the old man.
The old man managed to avoid a direct hit, but the lightning grazed his arm, leaving a painful burn. Undeterred, he quickly formed more hand signs and unleashed a powerful gust of wind that sent his attackers flying backward.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" he cried, his voice filled with desperation and determination.
The Konoha Shinobi quickly recovered, their eyes narrowing as they realized that the old man posed a genuine threat. They exchanged a quick nod before launching a coordinated attack, weaving hand signs and unleashing a barrage of elemental jutsu that overwhelmed the old man.
As Kai watched the battle unfold, his vision shifted, allowing him to see how the chakra traveled within the Shinobi's bodies as they executed their jutsu. It was a fascinating and illuminating sight, and Kai couldn't help but feel a mixture of awe and excitement. He knew that, with this knowledge, he could practice and refine his own abilities.
The old man, however, was struggling. He fought valiantly, countering the Shinobi's attacks with his own jutsu and managing to hold them off for a time. But as the battle wore on, he grew weaker and slower, his chakra reserves depleting.
As the old man stumbled, panting with exhaustion, the leader of the Konoha Shinobi stepped forward. "It's over, old man," he said coldly. "You've put up a good fight, but it's time to accept defeat."
The old man looked up, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and defiance. "You may take me, but you will not take the girl," he whispered, his voice hoarse.
The Shinobi leader smirked, a cruel glint in his eyes. "I'm afraid we'll be taking both of you," he said, before delivering a crushing blow to the old man, rendering him unconscious.
Kai, hidden in the shadows, felt a deep sense of sadness for the girl and the old man, but he couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement as well. He had seen how chakra flowed within the Shinobi's bodies when they performed their jutsu, and now he could practice them too.
