Chapter 59: Humiliation
Zhao Huatai knew that Zhang Hongyu’s family was rich, but he was still shocked when he saw the Roaring Tiger Mk 1 spiritual armor. It was a spiritual armor made of tier two beast bone powder along with a special metal. It specialized in offense and was a top-notch model priced at more than three million dollars. If one were to purchase it along with weapons and other accessories, it would add up to at least five million dollars!
He knew that Zhang Hongyu had only recently had a breakthrough, yet he already owned his own set of spiritual armor—a top-tier one, too—which impressed Zhao Huatai.
With a metal pipe in hand, Xiang Ning watched the figure clad in spiritual armor, faintly glowing gold. He smirked. He could earn a lot more from this fight. The thugs were just too weak. Many had even collapsed after just one strike, dropping unconscious. Xiang Ning was exasperated—how can an unconscious opponent supply him with Fury Points?
“I’ve got to say you’re impressive, kid, but in a serious fight, do you really think you can beat me? If you get on your knees, kowtow, and apologize, then crawl back to the dojo, I’ll let you go. Or I’ll break your third leg!” Zhang Hongyu coldly snickered.
Xiang Ning pursed his lips and tossed away his metal pipe. “Can you please stop with the TV villain monologue? Do you know how they die? It’s because they talk too much! Who are you anyway?” He truly didn’t know who Zhang Hongyu was. He must just be some madman, so insistent on breaking his third leg for no reason. What kind of grudge was he holding?
Zhang Hongyu’s face burned red, his eyes glowing red in the light of his armor. This was unacceptable! He was furious! How dare Xiang Ning forget him?! “Kneel!” He attacked with the blunt weapon in his hand made of an unknown material that glowed white. It was strong enough to smash a head to pieces. With the aid of the spiritual armor, Zhang Hongyu’s tier one, five-star cultivation was now elevated to at least a lower-ranked tier two martial artist.
That was because of the quality of the Roaring Tiger Mk 1. If he were using a common set of armor worth just a million dollars, he would at most be able to challenge a tier one, seven- or eight-star martial artist. However, his set of armor was three to four times the price and naturally much better. It was twice as effective at directing his mental energy, as well as amplifying his strength!
When he saw Zhang Hongyu locking on to him, Xiang Ning didn’t panic. No matter how powerful an enemy was, he must have a weakness. Zhang Hongyu, even in his armor, was the same!
“Fine, if you come here and let me hit you, I’ll grant you your wish!” Zhang Hongyu had too many flaws. Xiang Ning remarked to himself that he was acting like a drunk man in armor. In short, Zhang Hongyu was no match for him. Clutching the slightly dented metal pipe, his figure disappeared in a flash as he sped like a ghost.
At this point, Zhao Huatai had the confidence of a madman. In the beginning, he had been afraid when he’d seen the way his thugs had lost, but after the spiritual armor was revealed his confidence was renewed! When he saw Xiang Ning stepping forward, he grew excited in anticipation of him kneeling and begging for forgiveness!A dagger levitated from the body of the man that Xiang Ning had ambushed with a brick. Although it wasn’t like the weapons he used during training, it was enough.
“Triple Slash! Mountain-Splitting Slash!” he forcefully uttered. It was the attack combo he had created. Every slash in the Triple Slash was more powerful than the previous, and could inflict huge damage. However, a trained master would note that such power wasn’t easy to control. Xiang Ning could only attack whatever was in his immediate field of vision in front of him—which was an advantage here, given that he was currently in a narrow alley!
He exploded with the power of a tier one, nine-star martial artist, his metal pipe colliding hard with the blunt weapon. Upon contact, both weapons bounced off each other. The pipe broke, but Xiang Ning didn’t give up, moving on to his next move as he aimed for Zhang Hongyu’s elbow. It was the target provided by Keen Observation.
Zhang Hongyu was surprised after the collision. He was wearing spiritual armor and was a tier one, five-star martial artist. He should have been able to defeat Xiang Ning in one shot, why didn’t that happen? “You aren’t a tier one, seven-star martial artist at all!” he raged.
“Hehe, who said I was?” When Xiang Ning finished speaking, he struck a second time. Zhang Hongyu clenched his teeth and blocked the attack, but when he raised his arm, Xiang Ning had directly struck his elbow. Despite the armor’s protection, its joints were still the weakest points.
The moment Zhang Hongyu lost his balance, Xiang Ning found his third opportunity with the move Zhao Huatai was familiar with. This was how he had been defeated, and he knew how terrifying the move was.
He abandoned his questions about how a sure win had turned into a dangerous fight and yelled, “Be careful of his third strike!”
Zhang Hongyu was no idiot. He took Xiang Ning’s attack seriously and knew that it was dangerous, but this was his chance too! Xiang Ning was going to launch his attack regardless, but he had armor on and would at most sustain minor injury. However, that minor injury would give him a chance to retaliate!
Yes, it was exchanging damage for damage. With armor on, Zhang Hongyu had the advantage! Yet no matter how scheming he was, he never would have expected that Xiang Ning was also a spiritual cultivator.
Whoosh! A dagger flew out from the shadows and slashed down at his heel. The collision was powerful, and the dagger shattered, but it had done its job. Zhang Hongyu had moved his center of gravity forward as he braced to exchange damage for damage, yet this unexpected attack had caused him to fall back.
Xiang Ning smirked and leapt into the air, shouting, “Mountain-Splitting Slash!” This time, he showed no mercy and unleashed the true power of an Awakened martial skill. With the power of an avalanche unleashed, Zhao Huatai relived his trauma at the entrance of the alleyway.
The Mountain-Splitting Slash slammed into Zhang Hongyu’s torso. The metal pipe had done its job, but it had instantly and completely shattered afterward.
Zhang Hongyu was thrown back to the ground with a dull thud. He was humiliated and furious, yet had no time to utter a single word.
“AAAAAH!” a terrifying shriek rang through the skies, causing dogs to bark.
Zhang Hongyu clutched his crotch, spasming in pain. Even with the hardy armor as protection, it was still a weak spot. While it hadn’t broken through the armor’s defenses, such power was enough to almost cause him to black out.
Zhao Huatai pressed his thighs together in fear.
Fury Points +333
Xiang Ning squatted and looked at Zhang Hongyu crying in the fetal position. “Who are you? Why are you so insistent on breaking my third leg?” This was the third time he asked the question.
Tears flowed from Zhang Hongyu’s eyes as he suffered utter humiliation atop utter humiliation.
