Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 46: Mischievous Tone

Everyone was in awe as they watched the fight unfold.

“Are you sure he isn’t tier two? How could a tier one martial artist have such a fierce aura?”

“He’s just like a beast!”

Xiang Ning’s ferocity matched the Shadowblood Hound’s, and the ‘two beasts’ continued fighting against each other.

Fang Rou was observing the fight and immediately shouted, “Ruoxue! Cover him!” This was something she had seen before in the dojo. While Xiang Ning was usually very aloof, he would transform into a demon of war when he fought seriously. If he wasn’t placed into a recovery capsule to use the recovery fluid made from a Beast King’s blood within thirty minutes, it was highly likely that he would end up crippled.

Liu Ruoxue nodded and emptied her magazine into the Boulder Boar before reloading. She changed targets and rained a hail of steel and fire toward the Shadowblood Hound’s eyes.

The bullets were more than enough to completely shred the Shadowblood Hound, as it was a beast that specialized in speed, rather than defense. It howled in pain as the bullets found their mark. Xiang Ning took the small opening and pounced on the beast like an arrow. Everyone held their breath as they saw Xiang Ning’s footsteps.

Every step he took left a hole in the ground, and as he got closer, the holes got larger. Xiang Ning was gradually accumulating his power for one final strike!

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” Xiang Ning roared as his blood boiled. In an instant, the world grew silent around him and he could only hear the deafening boom of his heart. Power surged forward as he brought his sword down in a mighty cleave, as if a mountain would truly be split apart. This was the strength of an Awakened-level Mountain-Splitting Slash.

The students just stood there as they couldn’t process what happened next. The Shadowblood Hound sensed danger, even though it was blind, and lunged toward Xiang Ning.

A gruesome sound burst forth as steel met flesh and a large head flew up high as fresh blood sprayed everywhere; the victor of the battle was clear.

Xiang Ning stuck his sword into the ground as he gasped for breath. Liu Ruoxue rushed to his side. “Are you alright?”

An instructor also came over. He had already received his orders, Xiang Ning must be protected no matter what.

“Are you alright? Do you need to use a recovery capsule?” the instructor asked.

“What? A recovery capsule?”

“Since when did our school have one?”

“Instructor! I want to use it too!”

Everyone was heated from hearing that there was a recovery capsule. Using it even once would require at least three hundred thousand dollars. Even if they were rich, they would still need to consider other options first.

Xiang Ning was initially going to say he was fine, but when he heard there was recovery fluid he was secretly very excited. Fang Rou and Li Zimo, who had just killed the Boulder Boar, also came over and overheard their conversation.

“Ouch! Instructor! I think my muscles are being torn apart! Can the recovery capsule truly heal me?” Xiang Ning put on his best act.

Fang Rou knew exactly what he wanted and internally facepalmed.

The instructor, much to his soon-to-be misfortune, didn’t catch Xiang Ning’s mischievous tone. In a calm manner, he told Xiang Ning, ”The recovery fluid will be able to heal every single wound in your body. I’ll contact the levitating carrier, so just hold on until then alright?” He took his communicator and called for the carrier. Within twenty seconds a levitating carrier, coated in red and white, floated over.

“Lie down on the carrier,” he instructed.

Xiang Ning did as he told before cheekily asking, “Is the recovery capsule expensive? If it is then I won’t be using it.…”

No one had ever seen someone so cheeky, even after he was told he could use such an expensive capsule.

“Wait, maybe he really doesn’t know what recovery capsules are?”

“Maybe… he is a part-time student, after all. Even if he used his entire fortune he wouldn’t be able to use it once.”

Everyone suddenly felt superior because they knew something that he didn’t.

Fang Rou heard their whispering and her lips twitched. Her brother was really unfortunate to have had his entire fortune spent on Xiang Ning.

“We use a recovery fluid made from a Beast King, and a single drop costs three hundred thousand dollars. Don’t worry, you won’t have to pay a single cent.” The instructor wasted no time as he sent the carrier away from the cage.

In less than ten minutes, Xiang Ning arrived at the infirmary within the school. This was once a small room, but it had been renovated when the military arrived. Now it was three times as large as before and contained two recovery capsules.

Lei Zhongyuan arrived outside the infirmary, and Dong Qianyi, who was standing beside him, opened his mouth and said, “The recovery capsules were only meant to be used for critical situations, why are we using one now?”

Lei Zhongyuan saw how Dong Qianyi was aloofly smiling and told him in a serious tone, “I really hate when you people don’t just say things straight to my face. You still don’t understand why I’m using it now?”

“Hmm… he may be a prodigy, but that shouldn’t be enough reason for him to use a recovery capsule, right?” Dong Yiqian was still aloofly smiling.

“Hehe, Old Dong, didn’t you hear? This sixteen-year-old boy was able to train a single martial skill to the Awakened level. Even though it’s only a basic martial skill, it’s the Mountain-Splitting Slash. It would’ve taken me five years to train the same martial skill to the Awakened level,” Lei Zhongyuan answered as his voice quivered with excitement.

“So you’re planning to take him as your disciple?” Dong Qianyi chuckled, as if he knew what Lei Zhongyuan was planning.

“Yes. I’m the last of the Lei family, and have no heir to pass down my secret techniques. If I take a disciple now it shouldn’t be too late.” Lei Zhongyuan bitterly smiled.

“Old Lei, we, the Twelve Great Prodigies, have been tirelessly researching the human brain and recently discovered a new breakthrough. We might be able to save your wife.” Dong Qianyi’s smile finally vanished as he got serious.

“No problem, but I want this youngster regardless. He’s strong, and has unfathomable talents. I can’t believe I found someone this talented here,” Lei Zhongyuan chuckled as if his past sorrows had been swept away.

But after fifteen minutes, Lei Zhongyuan and Dong Qianyi were puzzled by Xiang Ning, who was still lying inside the recovery capsule.

“This is the fourth time they’ve injected recovery fluid.”

“Is he a bottomless hole? Why’s he still absorbing recovery fluid?”

Dong Qianyi thought for a bit, then walked toward the equipment.

In a moment a screen containing Xiang Ning’s biodata appeared; Dong Qianyi couldn’t believe his eyes as he saw the data. “His Mental Power is over a hundred! He has the qualifications to be a spiritual cultivator now. But his Mental Power was only seventy when he took the physical exam a few days ago!” He was in disbelief. A spiritual cultivator might be strong and able to completely dominate a martial artist of the same tier, but Mental Power was the most difficult thing to cultivate. Just how had Xiang Ning managed to cultivate his Mental Power from seventy to a hundred in just five days?

Lei Zhongyuan, who was standing just beside Dong Qianyi, was in shock too.

“Xiang Ning is increasing his strength!”
