Chapter 19: Fate's Tale
Three days, that's all that's left before the war begins again. Once again, Fate's going to be drawing his sword and fighting for Lord Alexander's cause. He was more than ready but there was a constant fear. The warm water of the shower, dripped down Fate's dark blue hair. The water running down bare chest and chiseled abs. His pale blue eyes started to reluctantly open and close. But everytime he closed his eyes. He would see images of him.
"We have to run," Fate rushed over to him. The man was dressed in a glowing pink robe with butterfly designs on it. His long blond hair reached his lower back. The tips of his hair were glowing pink. The man stood still even as Fate tried to move him. His glowing pink eyes were staring far off into the trees. Where Fate could feel a strong presence coming and quickly. He was overwhelmed with fear and knew if they didn't leave now they'd die. "Come on, don't make me beg, we have to go. It's too dangerous to stay here. You'll die." He could feel them getting closer, there wasn't much time left. "Fine," Fate drew his sword. "If you won't run then I'll fight alongside you. We'll die together."
"Fate, you mustant." He warned. "Don't throw your life away trying to protect me. This fight has been predetermined and as much as I tried to avoid it." He watched as the man's robe turned into a horde of butterflies surrounding him. The man stood there wearing a black tank and black jeans. He had two swords in his hands. The blades were made of this pink substance and had butterfly markings on them. "There are things I must protect and in order to protect those things. I must fight." The man shut his eyes. "But this is not your fight. So you must run and leave me to my fate or you will die. So I beg of you to run while you still have a chance."
"But Soren, I love you," Fate dropped to his knees. "I can't leave you to die. It goes against my nature. I swore to protect you and keep you safe. So if you won't run," He balled his hand into a fist. "Then," He rose to his feet. "We'll just die together," Fate held his sword with both hands. "But," He gripped the blade tightly. "I'm not leaving you."
"Then I guess you leave me no choice," Soren closed his eyes. The swarm of butterflies gathered around Fate creating a wall to push him back. Fate kept trying to fight them off but there were so many he could barely see what was going on.
"Soren, stop," Fate yelled. He kept trying to push the wall of butterflies back. They wouldn't budge. His feet were being pushed back. "Soren, don't make me do this, don't make me leave you." His feet skidded back further. "Soren, please," Fate begged. "I want to protect you. Please stop," He kept being pushed back and further and further until he reached the edge of a cliff. "I said," He paused. "Stop it," He yelled at the top of his lungs. Fate created a massive barrier to force all the butterflies back.
"Well, well, well," He watched as a woman with long black hair came out from the shadows of the trees. She was wearing a white frilled dress that was cut to reveal her right leg. She wore black leather thigh boots with heels. Right next to her collarbone was the marking of a"P" written in cursive. Her violet eyes were staring right at him. Once he caught a look of her inhuman eye color. Fate was overwhelmed by fear. His hands started to shake, he could barely hold his sword. -Who is she?- Why is he so afraid of her? This didn't make sense. Who is she? "What do we have here?" She shook her head at him. "Barriers?" She groaned. "That could be troublesome," She reached into a pouch on the left side of her leg. The pouch was hidden by her dress. "I'd better deal with it now," She held up three sharp senbon needles. "Better to kill you than to wait and suffer the consequences later. Wouldn't you agree?"
Fate gulped and he fought to hold his sword. This woman was about to kill him. All he could do was stand there. He was too afraid to do anything. But he had to do something, anything, he couldn't die like this. So what if she's stronger, so what if he couldn't kill her. The least he could do is try. He wasn't going to stand here and just allow her to kill him. The sharp senbon were now flying directly at him, moving so fast, he could barely see them. He had to block it. He created a barrier but the senbon moved so fast. They cut through his barrier like paper and struck him in the shoulder.
Soon after he was hit, the woman appeared in front of him. "Time to die, vampire," Fate's eyes widened, he was slashed by her sharp claws on his chest. His blood poured out, drenching her claws. The attack forced him back and caused him to fall off a cliff into the sharp rocks below rendering him unconscious.
"I left you to die," Fate stood there in shower as the warm water ran down his face. "I wasn't strong enough to protect you and because of that. You died, it's all my fault, if only I was stronger I could have saved you." He kept seeing flashes of Soren's face just moments before his death. No matter how hard he tried to forget it. The memories wouldn't fade. He was constantly reminded of his failure to protect the person he loved. He was afraid. Who's to say that Scythe wouldn't suffer the same fate. Every person he's ever loved and swore to protect has died and he has no one to blame for that but himself. If only he was stronger.
Fate walked out of the shower. He reached into his medicine cabinet grabbing a pill bottle. He popped a pill in his mouth and swallowed it. These pills, Patience gave them to him. They were to help him forget what he saw. A way for him to live with the guilt of leaving the person he loved to die. Surviving living through it, that was his punishment for letting Soren die. He'd give anything to forget. So at least then, he could find a moment of peace.
"Having nightmares again," Scythe walked into the bathroom. He reached into the meds cabinet taking out a bottle of Sun Repellant IX. "You took your medicine right? You know how bad your dreams get. I don't know why you'd forget to take it."
"I don't forget," Fate shut the medicine cabinet for Scythe. "It's just maybe I need a stronger dose. They aren't working like they used to." He shrugged. "It's happening more often now," Dreams is what Scythe called it. Mostly because that's what Fate told him. Even though it wasn't dreams, it was memories. He just couldn't bring himself to talk about it. He didn't want Scythe to worry. The only person he's ever told is Patience and she's dead. So, now, he'd suffer in silence. It was easier that way, besides Scythe's far too busy to deal with his shit. He's got a new vampire to raise.
"So," Fate grabbed his tooth brush and began brushing his teeth next to Scythe. "How's Jayden's training fairing?" He asked as he scrubbed his teeth. He spit up toothpaste and continued brushing his teeth.
"It's going well," Scythe spit up toothpaste and turned on the sink to wash it down the drain. "I've got three days to get him ready for war." He put his toothbrush away and gargled mouthwash. Fate took the mouthwash from Scythe and gargled some as well. The two of them spit up mouth wash at the same time bumping each other's head. "Ou," Scythe rubbed his forehead. "You were supposed to let me go first."
"Says you," Fate rubbed his forehead. "I was in the bathroom first, that means, so, I should go first." He argued. Scythe glared into his eyes and shut off the water. "Your glares may scare Jayden but they don't scare me Scythe. Underneath that evil glare is a softie." He pointed out. "You know it and I know it. Mister, I threw the fight with Selene."
"Hey, I did no such thing." Scythe argued even though they both knew that was a lie. "Okay, so maybe I did, but you've got no proof. Besides, I don't want to be commander, I'm too old for things like that. It's better to let the young ones have it. It gives me a chance to check out how the younger generation of vampires chooses to run things."
"I suppose," Fate raised his brow. "If I was commander, I'd make it mandatory that you had to have sex with me." He kissed Scythe's cheek. "Heck, I'd lock you in Blaire's dungeon and transform it into a sex dungeon just for us."
"Really," Scythe raised his brow. "You'd only be concerned with us having sex on a regular basis. As commander, that's all you'd care about?" Fate nodded. "Wow, I'm glad you lost to Brandon then. There's more to being a commander than being the boss of your boyfriend. How long has it been since we've spent time together?"
"Lunar Ball," Fate answered. "But we haven't had sex in five years. I'm starting to get annoyed with that. How much longer are you going to make me wait? You're spending so much time with Jayden that it's cutting into our sex life. This was a problem before Jayden even came into our lives. I think it's time we addressed it." He walked out of the bathroom. "What is it Scythe, why aren't we having sex anymore? Did it stop being fun? Do I just not turn you on anymore? Like what is it? You can tell me."
"It's nothing, I've just been busy." Scythe answered. "Anyway, I've got to find a way to get Jayden to trigger his special ability. That's if he has one. Don't wait for me, I'll be gone all night. So, you'll have the room to yourself."
"Scythe, I don't want the room to myself." Fate threw off his towel. "We're dating so I don't have the room for myself. We're dating so we could cuddle at night. We're dating so we could spend time together. We're dating because I'm tired of doing everything alone. That's kind of the point of dating Scythe. So are we going to talk about this or aren't we?" Scythe wouldn't answer. "Whatever," He let out a deep sigh. "Just pretend, I don't exist. That seems to work for you." He walked over to his closet to get dressed,
"Fate, it's not that I don't want to talk about it." Scythe confessed. "Believe me, this is frustrating for me too. I've been trying to make time for us to be together but I'm always busy. Lord Alexander sends me on special missions. Then there's strategy meetings and now there's Jayden's training. I can't just ditch my responsibilities to spend time with my boyfriend. I made a commitment to Lord Alexander."
"What about the commitment you made to me?" Fate asked. "You know the one you made me when you first started dating me. When does that commitment come into play? I'm trying to be patient here but it's frustrating that you're never here. I love you Scythe, I do, but if something doesn't give soon. I'm going to have to go. So while you're out training "Our child" think about that?"
"Fate, don't be like that," Scythe shook his head. "I'm trying, what more do you want from me?" Fate slipped on a white tank and a pair of blue jeans. He refused to speak to Scythe because deep down Scythe knew what he wanted. Scythe let out a deep sigh. "Tonight, I'll make time and we'll talk through it. I'll just need to find a way to get Jayden to trigger his ability tonight. Once I get that done, I'll be free again and everything will go back to normal."
"Wait, that's all that's left." Fate asked him.
"Well, yes," Scythe answered. "That's all I was hoping for. Once I figure that out then, the rest of the training Jayden has to figure out for himself. At least until I can teach him to adapt opun what he already knows. I need to know what his ability is and how he chooses to use it. Before we can proceed any further. So the rest is on him. That's what I'm trying to figure out and I'm not having any luck."
"Of course you're not." Fate completely understood why Scythe was struggling with this task. Every student Scythe has had both him and Blaire. They already had their abilities unlocked so it was easier for Scythe to train them. This is something Scythe never had to deal with before. Especially given how gentle Scythe is with his students. The problem is, this is something Scythe couldn't be gentle about. Fate knew from experience. The only way to get a vampire to trigger their ability is to damn near kill them or. They had to be put in an emotionally wrecked state to the point where they trigger it themselves. Neither of those things. Scythe was going to be able to pull off because he's too kind.
"So let me get this straight," Fate began. "Jayden unlocks his special ability and we get to spend time together afterward. Meaning if he unlocks it today, the remaining two days are for us," Scythe nodded. "Meaning we could have sex tonight."
"Yes, Fate, that's what I'm hoping for, that's what we're waiting on." Scythe answered. "So if you've got any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Because I've tried everything, I've tried meditation, multiple sparring sessions, increasing his training hours and I even made a point to piss him off thinking he might trigger it out of anger. That didn't work either. So, I'm out of ideas, Fate, I need help on this."
"Have you tried killing him?" Fate asked.
"Fate, I would never hurt one of my students." Scythe argued. "It goes against my nature."
"But not mine," Fate smirked. "Scythe, leave this part of Jayden's training to me." He grabbed his sword. "I'll get him to unlock his special ability even if it means I have to give him a near death experience. It's all a part of training. This part," He grinned. "I'm perfect for, because I don't care if he lives or dies. I just want results." He walked out of their bedroom holding tight to his sword. He gathered up spiritual energy on his blade as he walked toward Jayden's bedroom.
"Fate, no," Scythe rushed over to his side. "You can't." He placed his hands on Fate's chest. "He's delicate. You'll kill him."
"No, I'll almost kill him. There's a difference." Fate pointed out. "Now, Scythe, you did your part. Let me do mine," He patted Scythe on the head. "You consider all your students as if they were your kids. The only exception is me and you want me to bond with them. Well, fine, I'll bond with Jayden by damn near killing him."
"Fate, yes, I may not consider you a student anymore but," Scythe kept following him. "The fact is you once were and I don't want to see my students fighting each other. I wouldn't let you fight Blaire and I'm not letting you fight Jayden. There has to be another way," He tried to reason. "Please, Fate, I'll take care of Jayden's training."
"Your way takes too long," Fate argued. "That's your problem. You're too gentle. Jayden knows you won't kill him. Therefore, he'll never trigger his ability because he's never going to feel like he's in danger. I mean, yes," He allowed. "There's a chance he'll trigger it at the war but then that's too late. The werewolves will make mincemeat out of him the moment he uses it. We need him to unlock it now and I'm just one to do it. Jayden knows, I won't hesitate to kill him. It's that fear that's going to push him."
"But Fate, you know how I feel about this." Scythe argued. "My student's should never have to fight each other."
"No, Scythe, we should fight each other. That's my problem with your training." Fate argued. "One of us is going to be your successor. This is all a chance for you to find someone to pass your teachings onto when you die. The only person who gets to decide that is you but how are we supposed to know where we stand against each other. If you won't let us fight each other or put our skills against one another. It's the reason why I want to fight Blaire so badly." He explained. "She was your first student and you won't let me find out who's better. Even though we both finished our training. You refuse to let us put our skills against each other. Sparing against each other, that's our chance to learn from each other and you won't let us do that."
"I don't want to see my students fighting each other." Scythe argued. "This isn't a competition Fate. Curse you and your competitive nature." That's where he's wrong, it is a competition. Fate wanted to be Scythe's successor. He wanted to pass on Scythe's legacy in order to do that he had to surpass all the others including Scythe. Fate could feel that he's the strongest. In order to be certain of that. He had to fight Blaire. But since she's Lord Alexander's daughter, he'll never get the chance.
"I'm sorry Scythe but you're just going to have to be pissed at me." Fate unleashed a barrier from his palm. The barrier knocked Scythe on his ass. "I'm doing this whether you want me to or not." He walked toward Jayden's room. "First rule of training, always be prepared for anything."
Fate slammed the edge of his sword down. A straight line of invisible energy fired off his blade. The energy tore through the ground making a straight line toward Jayden's bedroom door. It tore down the door and destroyed the wall behind it. Jayden stood there frozen in place. His feet placed right at the line of Fate's attack. It was only three centimeters from striking Jayden dead on.
"That almost hit me," Jayden was standing there shaking in fear wearing nothing but white towel to cover his goods. "Brandon, what the hell's the matter with you, you could have-," He screamed as another wave of energy came at him. "Oh shit," He jumped out of the way. Jayden's bathroom exploded, water shooting out of the pipes. "Dude, I just took a shower, give me a fucking minute. I'm naked."
"Like I give a shit," Fate lifted his sword. "I hope you took the Sun Repellent because the sun's about to shine and burn you alive."
"Alright, you wanna fight," Jayden picked up some of his weapons off the floor. "Then let's fight," He hurled his weapons at Fate. He blocked them with a barrier then expanded the barrier trying to crush Jayden with it. "Scythe, control your psychotic boyfriend." He ran out of the way as the barrier tore up his entire room. Vampires screamed as the light of the sun shot out and burned them. They quickly ran to hide from the sun using what shade was left. Jayden screamed as the sun left a nasty burn on his back. "Son of a bitch, he's actually trying to kill me." He tried to grab his weapons but the sun kept burning his hands.
"You didn't take the Sun Repellant," Fate smirked. "Aw, that's too bad." He charged up his sword. "Guess, you're just going to be burned alive." He swung his sword. Another wave of energy came toward Jayden. Jayden dodged only to be forced into the sunlight and be burned yet again. He let out a loud scream as the sun burned his back.
"Fate, stop this," Scythe yelled.
"No, use your ability Jayden." Fate swung his sword. Jayden dodged as another wave of energy tore through the castle walls. More sunlight shot into the castle. Jayden screamed as the sun burned him once more.
"I don't have one," Jayden yelled.
"I don't believe you," Fate swung his sword again. Jayden jumped out of the way as Fate tore down more of the castle. "Use it or die," Jayden rushed over to a vampire who was about to take Sun Repellant and stole the dose from him. He took it and grabbed his two daggers. He charged at Fate trying to cut him. Fate blocked his attacks and kicked him back. Jayden moved back and grabbed some of his clothes from his destroyed closet. Once he got the clothes, he ran away from Fate.
"You won't escape me that easily," Fate sheathed his sword. "My sex life depends on your death." He jumped down from Jayden's destroyed room and ran after him.
"Fate, please, don't hurt him." Scythe chased after Fate in hope of breaking up their fight. Selene walked up and saw all the destruction done to the castle walls. Her pale blue eyes shot open and she dropped her clipboard.
"Brandon," Selene yelled. "Get your ass in here now."
"Clever move, luring me into the caves." Fate acknowledged searching for Jayden in the dark labyrinth that protected the castle. The walls were lined up with silver weapons should any werewolves dare to brave the labyrinth. They'd be easy picking for the vampires. Jayden could use these weapons to his advantage. This also made it difficult for Fate to use the full might of his barriers. He'd risk causing a cave in. "Aw man, are we playing hide and seek?" He groaned. "I've always hated that game."
Fate noticed a shadow rushing past him. He rushed over to it but nothing was there. He started to look around but couldn't see anything. He looked down seeing Jayden's bath towel on the floor. So he managed to get dressed after all. He went to pick up the towel, when he did, Jayden fell from the ceiling and top of him. He tried to slit Fate's throat, he kicked him off and swung his sword but Jayden blocked catching him in a deadlock with his daggers.
"Looks like Scythe's training has served you well." Fate pointed out. "But you're still out of your league." He pushed Jayden back with one arm. He spun and tried to slash him, Jayden dodged returning to the shadows. "At least you learned if you can't beat your enemy head on. Then, your best bet is to try to catch them off guard and strike when they least expect it. I'm actually impressed. I might actually have to try."
"You're mine," Jayden hurled a bunch of weapons at Fate. He deflected them. While Fate was deflecting the weapons. Jayden slid underneath them and kept trying to cut Fate with his daggers. Fate evaded his attack only to be kicked back by both of Jayden's legs. Jayden caught the weapons in mid air and threw them back at Fate. Fate created a barrier to block them. "I was hoping you'd do that." Fate's eyes widened as smoke bomb went off blinding him. "This is for attacking me. Once I got out of the shower." He tried to slash him with daggers. Fate caught his arm stopping him. "This is for wrecking my room." He tried to kick Fate in the balls. He jumped back before he could hit him. "And this is for trying to kill me." Jayden threw a wall of weapons at Fate. He blocked them with a barrier.
"You're right, that was wrong of me but," Fate shrugged. "I don't really care." He clinched his blade. "Let's try for a change of scenery shall we?" Fate started running toward Jayden while holding up a barrier. Left with no choice, Jayden ran out of the caves and back into the forest surrounding the castle. Fate spun and fired a barrier off his sword.
"Shit," Jayden jumped out of the way and rolled across the grass to get back on his feet. The second he got back up, Fate started attacking him relentlessly. Jayden kept blocking his every attack left with no choice but to stay on the defense.
"Fate," Scythe stopped in place. This scene, it would be difficult for Scythe not to notice it. It was but a flashback of how he and Fate fell in love. It was during a sparring match. Like Fate could ever forget, it was raining that night.
No matter how hard Fate fought, he couldn't beat Scythe. But that night, he swore to beat him, Fate spent the entire night fighting Scythe. The two of them exchanged blows all night long. No matter how many times Scythe tried to convince Fate that he was no match for him. Fate refused to give up, no matter how many cuts were on his body or bad it hurt to move. He kept fighting, he vowed to beat Scythe and that was what he was going to do. As the night dragged on, Fate's resolve to win only grew stronger. He was growing stronger along with it. It ended with a deadlock.
Scythe was stuck there staring deep into Fate's eyes for what seemed like hours. Neither one of them was backing down. Fate finally had him, he was finally on Scythe's level of strength. It felt good, he no longer felt weak and Scythe. He started to admire him for his desire to never give up even when all odds were against him. It was that strong desire that burned his eyes that day that made Scythe fall in love with him. It marked the beginning of their relationship. He could no longer be Scythe's student. That day, he became so much more.
"Do you see it, Scythe?" Fate closed his eyes. "Do you see why you love me?" Scythe stood there speechless. Fate wasn't just out to help Scythe complete Jayden's training. No, he was out to remind Scythe of who he was. This was what Scythe needed to see, deep down, Fate knew it, Scythe had forgotten why he loved him. Now that he knows, their relationship can finally get back on track. "Now, let's finish this." He pushed Jayden back effortlessly. Fate gathered spiritual energy on his sword. "Dragon barrage."
"Oh, shit," Jayden's pale blue eyes shot open. A horde of small dragons shot out of Fate's sword each dragon had spiritual energy gathered into their mouth. The dragons charged at Jayden, striking from all directions. "If that hits me, I'm going to die." He stood there frozen in place as the dragons came closer. The amount of spiritual energy radiating off the dragons was more than enough to turn a vampire to dust. "Fate, stop, it's going to kill me. Make it stop, I don't wanna die." The dragons opened their mouths and charged at him. "I said," Jayden balled his hands into a fist. "STOP IT!" He let out a loud yell.
Fate watched in amazement as metal was pulled out of the ground turning into thousands of needles. Each needle was under Jayden's control as they floated in the air above him. He fired all of the needles at Fate hitting him from all sides.
"So this is his ability," Fate created a barrier to block the needles and repel them back at Jayden. He caught the needles before they hit him and fired them back at Fate. The needles were now all striking him head on. "Perfect, sorry Jayden, your ability is impressive but it's useless against me. So, I'm afraid I'll just have to end it in one strike." He shut his eyes, cloaking his blade in spiritual energy. "Mirror Strike," Fate fused his spiritual energy with his barriers and fired off a large sparkling white dot. The dot traveled straight to Jayden's needles and spread out, connecting Fate's spiritual energy to every needle. As a result, Jaayden could no longer control them, the needles were repelled back striking Jayden with his own attack.
"Fate, wait," Scythe called out. "Vampires are weak to spirit based attacks. You'll kill him." He warned. Luckily Fate had already thought of that. Seconds before the attack hit, Fate neutralized the spiritual energy added to his needles. Leaving Jayden only to be hit by regular needles which still was enough to knock him out.
"He's fine, I took care of it." Fate gestured. "See," He poked Jayden with his sheathed sword. Jayden twitched, still able to move. "He's not dead." He kept poking Jayden with the tip of his sheathed sword to annoy him. "Like I'd actually kill your precious student."
"Good well, since you were the one who injured him." Scythe pointed out. "You can carry him back to his room and treat him." Fate let out a defeated sigh. He walked over to Jayden's body and carried in his arms. While Fate was carrying Jayden he realized. Jayden's room was destroyed. He was just going to have to let him rest in the medical ward until he healed. The second he placed Jayden on the bed. Jayden used what strength he had left to flip Fate off.
"Yeah, I know, I suck." Fate laughed. "But at least we figured out your special ability. So for that. You should be thanking me." He shrugged. "Rest up, I'll be back to heal you later." He walked out of the medical room where Scythe was waiting. "Let me guess, what I did was reckless and stupid and went against everything you stood for. You hate my guts and want me to-" Scythe pressed his lips against Fate's.
"Thank you, you were right about everything." Scythe confessed. "Maybe. Not allowing my students to fight each other or to teach each other. Isn't the way to go about it. Each of you have your own skills and your own way of doing things. Your own take on my training and some of those lessons could help benefit the others. For example, if Blaire had your desire to learn and to keep forcing yourself to learn new things. She'd be a lot stronger." He admitted. "Perhaps the only way to instill that into her. Is by allowing her to fight you."
"Too bad that'll never happen." Fate scoffed. "Lord Alexander strictly forbids Blaire from training with anybody but you. He coddles her too damn much. I swear one of these days. He's going to wish he let me kick her ass. That is what she really needs, an ass kicking. Show her she's not as powerful as she thinks she is." He groaned. "If only I could fight her just once, that's all I need. Just one fight, it'll be good for both of us."
"Well, I can't argue with the King." Scythe kissed Fate's cheek. "That deadlock and that look in your eyes. The moment I saw it, I realized just how much I missed you," He kept kissing Fate's neck. "Your touch, your kisses, everything." He brought his lips to Fate's ear. "I'm ready for you to take me and fuck me. Punish me for neglecting you so,"
"Oh, I intend to," Fate grinned. "Five years no sex, nah, I can't let you get away with that. You owe me so much pleasure." He ran his finger along Scythe's lips. "You're going to be sore by the time I'm done with you. Now go," He smacked Scythe's ass. "Brace yourself for hours of relentless fucking because I'm not letting you walk out of our room. Until you feel me for days so you'll never forget just how good this-," He grabbed himself. "Feels."
"As you wish, my love," Scythe walked off. Wait a sec, Fate raised his brow as Scythe walked into his bedroom. Scythe's never been to his bedroom. Nobody's been in Fate's room, not even him, not since he and Scythe got together. He and Scythe shared Scythe's bedroom. There was no reason for him to have his own room. Except, there were skeletons in hidden Fate's closet, skeletons he never wanted to face or remember. But maybe, it was time he faced them. Maybe, it was time for him to stop hiding things from Scythe. No, he wasn't ready for that but it's been ten years. He had to at least try, if Scythe couldn't accept him, all of him, after being together for ten years. Then, he was wasting his time anyway.
"Fate we need to talk," Brandon walked up to him. "Look here, you wrecked Jayden's room, not me. You're set it straight and tell Selene you did it or I'll-,"
"Not now Brandon," Fate placed his hand on Brandon's shoulder. "I'm horny." He patted Brandon's shoulder. Brandon's mouth dropped after hearing what Fate said to him. It was like he couldn't believe Fate said that to him. "If you'll excuse me, I've got some business to attend to." He followed Scythe into his bedroom.
Fate slowly shut the door behind him so Scythe wouldn't hear him. Scythe was standing there in his underwear, wearing only his dragon designed boxer briefs. His pale chiseled skin, taunting his long withheld lust. That nice firm ass of his, facing him almost begging for attention as Scythe tried to put a pair of Fate's pants on. Fate stood there watching as Scythe rummaged through Fate's shirts for something to wear. Though Fate had already decided Scythe didn't need to dress for the occasion.
"No need, I'll be taking them off anyway. " Fate whispered these words softly into Scythe's ear. He ran his finger through Scythe's long black hair. He quickly grabbed a handful of Scythe's nice firm ass with his other hand. Scythe spun around to punch him in the face. He caught Scythe's hand and kissed him on the lips. He picked Scythe up and set him on top of his dresser as they kissed each other. Scythe hands grabbed at the edges of Fate's shirt. He broke their kiss to lift up his arms letting Scythe have a look at his exposed upper body. He had forgotten how great it felt to have Scythe's hands on his bare chest, his lips kissing his protruding collarbone. How great it was for him to finally be able to touch Scythe again to finally be able to express just how much he loves Scythe. There were no words, only actions.
Fate pulled Scythe closer, spreading his lover's legs apart as his tongue explored every inch of Scythe's mouth. Soft moan escaped Scythe's lips as if it were a calling. He slowly unzipped his pants and unfastened the button on his jeans. He pressed himself against Scythe's lust, thrusting his hips hard into him. So hard, the dresser started to bang against the wall. Scythe's pulled at Fate's blue hair as he ground their stern hips together. He hovered his sharp vampire teeth over Scythe's teasing him as he rubbed their cocks together. He knew of Scythe's love for pain, he enjoyed physical pain. Nothing turned him on more than being bitten by a fellow vampire. He wanted Fate to bite him to drink his blood, to suck the blood right from his neck.
"Do it, bite me, please," Scythe begged. "Oh, Fate, you feel so good." He raked his nail through Fate's hair as the dresser banged against the wall. "Fate, bite me, suck my blood, I want you to. Do it, please, oh, yes," He let out a moan as Fate's teeth bit down on his neck leaving a bite mark that would brand Scythe as his. "Oh, yes, yes," Scythe wrapped his arms around Fate as he continued to drink his blood, his hips still grinding against his. He released Scythe's neck and grabbed his ass, clenching it tight while they kissed. Allowing Scythe to taste his own blood on Fate's lips. He threw Scythe on his bed and climbed on top of him. His hands clenching the sheets as he shoved his hips into Scythe roughly.
"Oh, Scythe, I missed this so much." Fate listened as Scythe begged him for more. Scythe's nails were lightly raking on his back. "The sound of your moans, the taste of your blood," He licked the side of Scythe's bleeding neck. "The way it feels to have our hips moving against one another. All of it, Scythe, I miss it all," Scythe grabbed Fate's shoving his hips into him. "Oh, you have no idea how horrible it was waiting for you to finally want me. Now that you do," Fate positioned himself in front of Scythe's face. "I'm going to enjoy every minute of it." He started to lower his boxers to expose his cock so he could fuck Scythe's mouth. However, before he could Scythe caught notice of the butterfly designs on his boxer briefs.
"Butterflies?" Scythe glanced up at him. "Why does your underwear have butterflies on them? I've never seen you wear these before. Are they even your size?" He grabbed the elastic band of Fate's boxers and pulled on it. The band snapped forward and shot back, slapping the tip of Fate's cock. "Whoops," Fate ignored the slight sting and rubbed himself.
"Don't worry about my boxers," Fate pulled the elastic band of his boxers down. He rested the band underneath his balls exposing himself to Scythe. "Worry about this," Fate positioned his cock in front of Scythe's mouth and forced his head down on him. He began pounding his hips against Scythe's throat forcing him to choke on his cock. "Aw, That's it, aw," Scythe gripped Fate's ass tightly, moving his hips back and forth again and again.
The warm wet sensation of Scythe's mouth had now fully engulfed Fate's cock. The more he thrusted his hips, the better it felt, he could feel himself pulsing inside Scythe's throat. The sensitive head of his cock was starting to bang against Scythe's throat forcing him to gag each time Fate moved his hips.
"Aw yeah, Aw yeah," Fate grabbed Scythe's shoulders moving faster. He ran his hand through his hair as dick pounded Scythe's amazing throat. It felt so good, he wanted to reward that mouth and bust inside it. Give him a taste of his ecstasy and hope that he swallows all of it. Scythe grabbed Fate's ass and forced his back onto the bed. Fate clinched the pillow as Scythe continued to suck him off. His head moving up and down beneath the sheets. He laid there enjoying every minute of it.
"Aw, yes," Fate felt Scythe's slick tongue licks his balls and run up the tip of his cock. He kept licking it over and over again. That wicked tongue getting his dick nice and wet. He bit his lip trying to hold it in. He could feel himself getting closer and closer to release. The more Scythe sucked, licked, and tasted his cock. The more his hips started to thrust. "Aw, yes, yes, yes, F-Fuck." He threw his head back as his sweet ecstasy shot out of him and doused Scythe's throat. Scythe swallowed Fate's release and licked him clean. "That was amazing," He panted as eased down from his orgasm. "I love it when you suck my dick."
"I'm sure you do," Scythe wiped his lips off. He climbed on top of Fate and lowered his boxers for him. "Now it's your turn to do me." Fate shrugged and grabbed Scythe. He laid him down on the bed. He pulled off Scythe's dragon designed boxer briefs and threw them behind him. Fate made sure to throw them so far away. Scythe wouldn't dream of fetching them or even try to put them back on. Tonight, Fate had a goal.
Fate wanted their relationship to return to the way it was. He wanted Scythe to push him into a supply closet just because he forgot to zip his zipper and it was teasing him. He wanted Scythe to rip his clothes the moment he came back from training. He wanted that Scythe back, the Scythe who could never get enough of him. The Scythe that struggled to keep his hands off him, he wanted that Scythe back. Tonight, he was going to get it. He was going to drown Scythe in so much pleasure. He'll never say, he's too busy for him again.
Fate ran his lips down Scythe's bare chest, gently kissing his skin. He ran his hands along Scythe's hip as his mouth got closer and closer to Scythe's aching lust. He took his tongue and ran up and down the shaft of Scythe's cock. His gentle hand lightly teased Scythe's balls by pulling at the skin as he licked him again and again. Scythe pulled at Fate's hair and shoved his mouth down on him forcing Fate to suck his cock. Everytime, Fate moved his head up and down. He could hear Scythe's moans getting louder and louder begging for more.
"Oh, yes," Scythe clenched the pillow his hips were trying so hard to contain themself as Fate relentlessly sucked him off. The more Scythe called out in pleasure. The faster Fate's head moved, the harder he'd suck, the more his tongue played with his cock. Fate could already taste Scythe's ecstasy leaking out from the tip. He was on the verge of release fighting every waking moment of it so Fate could suck him longer. "Unhh," Fate gradually held out his hand as he sucked him reaching for the dresser drawer of his nightstand. He pulled out a bottle of lubricant and began to cover his down cock with it, jerking himself off as he sucked Scythe's dick. Just seconds before Scythe was about to bust. Fate stopped and held tight to Scythe's cock preventing that release he wanted so badly.
"Not yet," Fate advised. "I'm not finished with you yet." He took his lubricated finger and pushed it into Scythe's entrance. Scythe's nails dug at the sheets at the beds as Fate proceeded to loosen his entrance with his finger. Each time his finger went inside him, Scythe would let out a soft moan. At last, he was able to put a second finger inside him. Once that finger took refuge it only made Scythe cry out of him. Each cry was like a calling to Fate, his cock was pulsing eager to feel Scythe, damn near, begging to be inside him.
"Fuck me, Fate," Scythe begged. "I want to feel more of you. Fuck me, please, I beg of you. Do it, Fate, enough prep, just do it. Do it, Fate, do it, I can't take anymore, please just fuck me." Fate pressed his lips against Scythe's at the same time their lips touched. He pushed his cock deep inside Scythe's entrance giving him that connection. He craved so badly, he'd forgotten how great it felt to be inside Scythe. His body, the way it accepted him calling to him begging his hips to thrust into him. This strong desire to fuck him, Fate couldn't resist it, his hips threw themselves into action without any warning.
"Aw, Fate," Scythe clinched the pillow. "You feel so good," He smirked and began thrusting his hips faster. Fate's jeans kept crinkling sliding down his butt each time he shoved his cock into him. Fed up, with having to hold them up. Fate let his jeans fall to his ankles. Once they reached his ankles, Fate broke the connection long enough to remove both his pants and boxer briefs. He kicked them both clear across the room in frustration. He quickly grabbed Scythe's legs and rested them on his shoulders. Fate pushed his cock back inside him slamming his hips into him again and again, getting deeper and deeper so Scythe could feel all of him.
"Yes, yes, fuck me, Fate, yes," Scythe called out. He flipped Scythe over and shoved his cock into him from behind. This time, Fate made a point not to spare an ounce of his speed. His hips slammed into Scythe so fast the bed started to shake wildly. He ran his hand through his hair as his balls slapped against Scythe again and again. " Fate, you're so good at this. Oh, Fate, yes, yes. Why did I ever stop letting you fuck me?"
"See this is," Fate shifted his hips and made sure to hit Scythe sweet spot dead on. Scythe's hands gripped the sheets for dear life. "What happens," He slammed his dick deeper into Scythe's entrance. "When you," He struck Scythe's sweet spot again. "Deprive me," Fate gripped Scythe's hips tightly. "Oh fuck," Fate felt his release pour out and drench Scythe's entrance. Hips began to slow down becoming light taps against Scythe's ass. "Of sex," Fate ran his finger's through his hair and slapped Scythe's on the ass leaving his handprint. This was his way of claiming ownership over Scythe's ass.
"I will never deprive you again." Scythe rested his face on the pillow. "You're dick is my life energy. Either it's that or it's the key to my demise. I haven't decided yet. Afterall, it's the only sword you're good with." He held his hand out to Fate.
"Excuse you," Fate reached into his night stand and handed Scythe a tissue. He watched as Scythe cleaned himself off after shooting his release on the bed. "I'm a badass when it comes to swords. Thank you very much." Once Scythe cleaned the mess he made up. Fate laid down beside Scythe. "Besides," He ran his fingers through Scythe's black hair. "I learned from the best." He kissed Scythe on the lips and tossed Scythe's tissue in the trash by their bed. "One of these days, I'm going to be better with a sword than you are. After all, it's my dream to surpass you and to be your successor."
"You're the only student, I've had to show interest in it." Scythe let out a defeated sigh. "Blaire used to be interested in it. She used to care but now. She only cares about the throne. Jayden, he's yet to show any interest. So, it's not like you have much competition." He rested his head on Fate's bare chest. "Fate," Scythe took hold of his hand. "Can I ask you something and you promise not to avoid the question this time."
Fate knew what this was about. Scythe has always been jealous that Fate opened up to Patience. She was his therapist and only wanted to help him. Like he told Scythe, it's only natural he'd open up to his therapist. He might have crossed the line and dated her. But, him, opening up to her. That wasn't him opening up to her as her boyfriend. He was opening up to her because she was his therapist nothing more. Scythe was always his priority, he just didn't want Scythe to worry about him. So, he never told him anything. But, here Scythe goes again asking questions he doesn't want to answer. But, still, he did agree he'd try but it was too difficult for him to get the words out. So, Fate would do what he always does.
"Scythe, come on, I already told you." Fate groaned. "I don't want to talk about it. Why can't you just accept that I've got a lot of mental baggage that I need to deal with on my own. Talking about it doesn't help," He let out a deep sigh. "I've already tried it. Besides, you've got your own shit to deal with. You don't need to worry about me. I will take care of it myself and by myself, got it? Now can we please just drop the subject?" He turned his back over to Scythe.
"Fate, this isn't-," Scythe scoffed. "So you can talk to Patience about it but not me. I mean, why would you need a therapist when you have me? You need someone to talk to, that's what I'm here for. Fate, I love you but you've got to let me in. You can't just keep me in the dark. I need to know what the dreams are and why you need to take meds to suppress them. I need to know what you're thinking. I need you to talk to me about these things but you won't."
"They're not dreams," Fate said, breaking his silence. He made a promise to himself. The next time Scythe started to ask these questions again. He'd try to tell him the truth. He wouldn't avoid the questions. Perhaps, that's why they stopped having sex. Fate shut Scythe out and became distant. No, he's always been distant. Too afraid to let Scythe in, too afraid to lose him. But he was going to lose him if he didn't talk to him. So, this time, he had to try. "They're memories, Scythe," He answered. "I lied to you when I said they were dreams." He admitted. "I take meds to forget. Do you remember when I first arrived at the castle? " He turned to face Scythe.
"Yes," Scythe answered. "You were brought in by the healers. Patience was among them. You sustained some kind of head injury." He raised his brow. "So for a while, they had you under constant watch, healing you on the hour, restitching the wound. Lord Alexander told me about it. He tells me everything. I remember Patience saying if you were being kept alive by some sword you were carrying at the time. She couldn't explain how the sword was healing you or how it was able to keep you from dying. But it was." He shrugged. "However when you came to, you had no memories of what happened or how you ended up with the sword in the first place. You could barely remember your name. You suffered a fatal injury that should have killed you."
"After I regained consciousness," Fate let out a deep sigh. "Patience took me in as her patient and she made it her mission to help me remember not just what happened but everything else too. The worst part was," He leaned forward. "There were things. I didn't want to remember and Patience made me remember them. She felt guilty after she found out what happened and how I got that injury and. She tried to fix it and to make me forget again. So, she made the meds just for me. So, I could forget what happened because living with those memories was too hard for me. I couldn't do it. I still can't but the meds aren't working as well as they used to. The memories keep coming back and I can't deal with it."
"What happened?" Scythe asked. "Maybe, you need to talk about it. Maybe, forgetting isn't the answer. Maybe, it's time you faced it." He sat up next to Fate. "I'm here to help you with that. I may not be a therapist like Patience was but I'm still someone who cares about you and wants to help. But, you've got to let me do that."
"Alright fine," Fate replied in a defeated tone. " I'm not sure you can handle it though, I mean, you're going to find out how horrible of a person I am. I don't want you to see that then decide you don't want me anymore. So, if I tell you, you have to promise, you're not going to leave or maybe you should leave because." He closed his eyes. "Everyone I love dies and there's nothing I can do about it. Whenever the time comes for me to do my part and protect the person I love. I always end up letting them down."
"Well, for one, I'm sure whatever it is, I can take it." Scythe smiled at Fate. "For two, Fate, I'm not going anywhere. I'm a lot stronger than Patience was. What happened to her. That's not something you could have prevented. She went into werewolf territory knowing the dangers and was killed for it. She even lied to the King, keeping him from being able to protect her. What she did, she did of her own accord. That's not your fault. So stop blaming yourself for it." He ran his fingers through Fate's hair.
"I'm not talking about Patience," Fate admitted. "My ex, there's something you should know about him. He's well," He forced a swallow. "You're not going to believe me when I tell you but here it goes." He let out a deep sigh. "He's the Vampire Elder, Soren was my ex-boyfriend and I was there when he died."
"Wait, wait, wait, wait," Scythe held up a finger. "You're telling me, your ex is, S-S-S-S," Fate could tell, Scythe was straining to get the name out. He knew once he told Scythe he wasn't going to believe him or that he'd be too shocked to comprehend it. "S-Soren, the Soren, the strongest of our kind, that's your ex. Wow," He placed his hand on his chest. "That's a lot to take in. Wait, you had sex with Soren. How am I supposed to compete with that? Why are you dating me if you dated that?" He stressed. "I bet the sex was great. Here I was thinking I was a catch but not compared to Soren. I'm depressed now. Thanks a lot," He hit Fate with a pillow. "Asshole, I hate you. I fucking hate you. I can't believe you fucked Soren. I can't compete with that Fate, I can't, it's a no contest. Soren's better."
"Scythe," Fate flicked Scythe's forehead. "That's not the point." He added. "It doesn't matter that Soren was my ex. I'm with you okay so erase that thought." Scythe nodded. "Now," He continued. "What does matter is the fact I was there when he died. Moments before his death I was there. I could have saved him. The one time, Soren actually needed me to be there for him. I wasn't there. I left him to die. He died because of me. How could I live with myself knowing that I left someone I love to die. How could I say that I love him and then leave him like that. Knowing, he's going to die. What type of person would do that to somebody?" He lowered his head. "I would, because I was weak, I wasn't strong enough to save him and because I was weak and powerless Soren died. I hate myself everyday for that and I will never be able to forgive myself for it. So, I try to forget that it happened."
"So, that's why you were training so hard when we first met." Scythe rubbed his chin. "You were going back and forth, training with both me and Patience. You learned sword fighting from me and medical skills from her. I kept warning you not to overdo it but you ignored my warning and kept using blood bags as a solution to you overexerting yourself. You pushed yourself that hard because of Soren."
"Yes," Fate answered. "I had to become stronger so the next time someone I love gets put in that situation. I'll be strong enough to save them. I'm not going to let you be another Soren. I already can't deal with the pain of losing him. I don't want to deal with the pain of losing you too. I think," He clenched the sheets tightly. "That's what I'm most afraid of, I'm scared that if we go out on that battlefield and fight the werewolves. I might lose you, that fact, scares the shit out of me." Scythe kissed his cheek.
"You're not going to lose me," Scythe placed his hand on Fate's lap. "What happened with Soren, that's not something you could have prevented either. If the fight was too difficult even for someone as powerful as Soren. It stands to reason that none of us would have been able to help in that situation. Even if we were to swap places, Fate. Even if Lord Alexander himself decided to help, I'm sure, Soren still would have died. That was his fate, he must have known that and I'm sure he doesn't-," A knock was heard on the door.
"Scythe," Selene spoke through the door. "Lord Alexander wants me to gather the team for a test. So, make yourself decent and come to the throne room. You have three minutes to come out or I'm kicking the door down. You've been warned."
"To be continued," Fate got out of bed. "We wouldn't want Selene to catch us in the nude or together in the nude." He grabbed his shirt and put it on. "Knowing her, she'd want to watch us have sex. She'd think it's cute. Well, I wouldn't mind but I know you would." He grabbed a pair of boxer briefs out of his drawer and put them on.
"Indeed, I would." Scythe quickly started getting dressed. "Three's a crowd." He kissed Fate's cheek. "I love you and I'll see you outside." He pinched Fate's cheek. "You're so handsome and cute sometimes I forget how adorable you are."
"Scythe, go," Fate pointed at the door. "Before I kick your ass." Scythe blew a kiss at him and left the room. He walked up to his closet and opened the door. Inside was a broadsword, the edge of the blade was covered in a sheen layer of bright pink. The engraving of butterflies was on the blade and the words etched on the blade were written in cursive and read: "Love always, Soren.". "I won't let Scythe end up like you did, I will protect him," He shut his closet door. "No matter what the cost."
