Fallen Moon

Chapter 03: Bloodshed (Part 03)

The moment Patience left his room kept playing in Angel’s mind on repeat. He couldn’t help but worry about her. The way she was acting before Brandon entered the room. She was in a dark place, a place he had been before. It was the type of place you go to when you’re longing for death. Once you go there, it’s hard to come back. Surely this was just in his head, Patience wouldn’t do something like that.

Angel continued to search the castle halls. He hoped to find her still in the safety of the castle walls. There was no trace of her or Brandon, this caused him to worry even more. He should treat this as a family matter and not get involved. Angel felt as if everyone in his team were his family. Perhaps, he should ask Selene just to be on the safe side.

“Commander,” Selene fixed the strands of her blonde hair. He shifted his eyes towards her with a bothered glare on his face. “Right, I keep forgetting you don’t like being called that.” She admitted. “So Angel,” She blocked his path. “What’s bothering you?” He tried to walk past her. “Don’t even,” She held her arm out. “I have been going over war rations, troop numbers, supply count, and even the new training regiments. You haven’t shown even the slightest hint of interest.” She crossed her arms. “Most commanders would pay attention to these things because they are important. The fact you aren’t tells me something is bothering you.”

“It’s Patience,” Angel answered. “Do you have any idea as to where she went?” He leaned against the wall. “I can’t think about this war when my mind is stuck on how things went with her. You were harsh,”

“Not that my relationship with my sister is any of your business but,” Selene let out a sigh. “I said what I needed to say,” She added. “Patience has always had everything just given to her. She got the guys, the looks, the praise, all of it just given to her. At some point. She’s got to learn to earn things. That’s exactly what I’m trying to teach her. If I got to be a bitch to do it then so be it,” She shrugged. “Besides, she went on a supply run with Brandon, they’ll be back shortly.”

“Supply run,” Angel replied with a nod. “I guess I don’t have anything to worry about.” He shrugged. “Just send me a list of the rations, the supplies, troop numbers, and the approval form for the new training regimen. I will look at them and give you feedback.” He started to leave. “Wait, one more thing,” He rushed back to Selene. “Jayden is a new vampire, right?”

“Yes that, he is,” Selene answered. “What’s on your mind?” She placed her hands on her hips.

“Do you think that you could spar with him for me?” Angel asked. “He’s yet to show us what he can do.” He reminded her. “He’s under the impression that he’s skilled enough to be on the battlefield with us in the front line. But, being recently turned, that’s not the case. I need you to show him the difference between someone who fights in the front of line compared to someone who remains in the back.”

“Not to upset you but,” Selene paused. “You and Ziek were recently turned.” She crossed her arms. “Both of you fight in the frontline with me.” Angel scolded her. “I know you’re a special case because you have secret training sessions with the king.” Exactly and don’t forget it. Those training sessions are intense. “Ziek is a special case because he’s Ziek. There’s no real way to explain it except to say he’s gifted.” Selene reasoned. “Consider it done, I’ll be more than happy to whip him into shape.”

“This isn’t just for him,” Angel added. “I think it would be good for you as well.” He put his hands in his pockets. “Think of it as a way for you to blow off some steam. You have been making several preparations for the war. It’s been awhile since you had some fun just." He paused. "Promise me you won’t break him.” He continued down the hall.

Selene started to head towards Jayden’s room. She took recognition of the vampire walking down the hall. That raven colored hair was styled in a long ponytail. The two swords sheathed on his back. This man is, “Scythe,” She spoke in shock. “It’s rare for you to be roaming the castle halls.” Scythe turned around walking toward her.

“It has been awhile,” Scythe agreed. “Lord Alexander has had me doing many errands as of late.” He rested his back against the wall. “It’s rare that I get time to myself. Let alone greet the rest of the team, so how is the new commander fairing?” He started to walk down the hall, Selene walked beside him.

“Angel, he’s actually taking to the job well.” Selene fixed her blonde hair. “I heard that not even you’re allowed to watch him train with the king. It’s not like Lord Alexander to keep you in the dark, he trusts you over anyone else.” She continued to walk alongside Scythe. “I wonder what Lord Alexander sees in Angel. He has his unique mannerisms but he’s still just a vampire like us. What makes him so special?”

“I can’t say,” Scythe answered. “When I first laid eyes on Angel, I found him lying outside in the sun longing for death.” Selene stopped, Angel tried to kill himself. When did this happen? “I offered him a few words of advice and to be honest, I didn’t think he’d listen.” His lips formed a smile. “I was really surprised when he took the Sun Repellant IX from me. He chose to live. I still don’t know why he made that decision but I’m glad he did.”

“That makes two of us,” Selene replied. “Speaking of saving lives, have you seen Jayden?” She figured since Scythe saved Jayden’s life by biting him. He would be the best person to ask for his whereabouts. After all, Jayden is his responsibility.

“He was just standing outside Blaire’s room a second ago.” Scythe crossed his arms. “She shot him down again.” Selene shook her head, that boy doesn’t know when to give up. “You should check his room. He usually goes there to sulk for a few minutes.” He started to walk away. “Wait,” Scythe stopped. “You aren’t by any chance going to spar with him, are you?”

“Angel asked me to,” Selene answered. “Why is there a problem?” She raised her brow the moment he started to chuckle. “Is something about that funny?” Scythe is starting to act strange, she never could tell what went on in their tactician’s brain. Of course, that’s to be expected. He’s one of the older vampires. His body however, Selene’s eyes trailed his well-built frame down from his muscle shirt which was cut to reveal his hardened abs. She continued down the fabrics of his black pants, his legs were dressed for agility.

“I think you are right,” Scythe’s lips formed a smile. “Angel is taking his title as Commander well.” Scythe placed his hand on her shoulder. He continued up the stairs taking his leave of her.

Selene began walking towards Jayden’s room. She stopped at his door. She could hear the faint sound of water running. She knocked on the door waiting for him to answer. Selene counted to three in her head and barged into his room.

“Hey,” Jayden screamed, covering himself with a towel. “I wasn’t dressed yet,” She wasn’t exactly known for her patience. “Mind explaining why you barged into my room?” He grabbed another towel drying his wet hair.

“I did knock first,” Selene pointed out. “It’s not like it matters if I saw you naked. You aren’t the type of guy I go for.” Her eyes scaled his shirtless body, he had little to no muscle, he needed to train more. The werewolves would have little trouble disposing of him. “I’m not even the slightest bit impressed by you.”

“Oh really,” Jayden threw the towel he used to dry his hair in his laundry basket. “Not even if you were to see,” He started to remove the towel covering his masculinity. Selene pulled a sword off his wall holding it to his throat. “Relax,” He lowered the sword. “I was just joking, like I’d let you see my dick. Please you’re good but not that good.”

“Don’t flatter yourself,” Selene fixed her blonde hair. “I’m interested in men.” She hung the sword back on his wall. “Not boys who play with small swords.” She picked up one of Jayden’s daggers. “Now,” She handed Jayden his dagger. “I have been made aware that you are the only new vampire without someone to train you. You do realize that without proper training you’ll be killed in seconds.”

“I don’t need a teacher,” Jayden argued. “I can teach myself besides I’m not the only person without someone to teach me. Angel trains himself, why can’t I?” That’s not even true, Angel does have someone to train him. He just couldn’t tell anyone who it is. “Thanks for the offer but I can take care of myself.” Selene laughed.

“I wasn’t offering to train you,” She countered. “I don’t use swords, you’d gain nothing by being taught by me. Besides, I’m training Ziek.” She added. “I have a very busy schedule. Brandon has been helping me with that. Which means you need to find someone other than me and Brandon preferably someone who can use a sword.”

“I already told you,” Jayden punched his dresser. “I don’t need a master,” He spoke louder. “I can handle it myself.” He walked up to her. “Besides,” Jayden crossed his arms. “Name one vampire that uses a sword who would be willing to teach me. Go ahead, I’ll wait.” Selene did know at least one but, he didn’t take students not unless they were exceptional students. That’s what Angel’s after, this match. It served as a chance for Jayden to prove his worth to a very picky master.

“You’re aware that,” Selene smirked. Perhaps, she could offer him some bait. “Blaire uses a sword.” His face the moment he heard the girl of his dreams wielded a sword. It was clear she got his interest.

“She does,” Jayden jumped. “That’s perfect, she could-,” Selene chuckled. “Why are you laughing?” He grabbed her shirt. “Tell Blaire that I’d be more than happy to be her student.” He spoke in excitement. “This is my chance to prove that I’m better for her than Angel. Selene, come on, you got to tell her.” Selene laughed harder.

“Oh no, boy, she’s not the teaching type.” Selene replied. “Blaire is only interested in training herself. She’ll never accept a student.” He took the bait now she just needed to push him in the right direction. “What if I told you that she had a master?” She offered. Jayden’s lips parted.

“You mean Lord Alexander,” Jayden shouted. “That’s incredible. The king wants to train me. That’s the best news ever,” He embraced her. “I could tell him to let me marry Blaire instead. This is great, so great, Selene, tell him that I’m interested.” Selene laughed. Lord Alexander can’t train him, he’s training Angel. That alone is a miracle, he didn’t take students either. “Wait not him either, then who?”

“Scythe,” Selene answered. “He’s the one who taught Blaire.” She explained. “You see if you can get him to train you.” She leaned against his dresser. “It would look good in terms of getting Blaire to date you.” Jayden began to ponder her words. “But Scythe isn’t easy to please. He’s the best sword wielder we have even better than Lord Alexander himself.” She added. “In order to get him to waste his precious time training you.” She started to walk circles around Jayden. “You’re going to have to impress him.”

“Scythe, isn’t he the vampire that turned me?” Jayden asked. “Say I was interested in being his student.” He offered. “What would I need to do in order to impress him?” He crossed his arms. “Don’t get the wrong idea about this, I still want to train myself.” Selene let out a sigh. He wasn’t going to live long without someone to teach him.

“You really intend to train yourself,” Selene put her hands on her hips. “If that’s what you want then,” She glared into his eyes. “I hope you don’t mind proving to me that you can handle it.” She challenged, “As second in command it would be foolish of me to let an untrained vampire enter the battlefield. You’d be nothing but a heavy weight on our backs that we’d have to carry. I won’t let that happen, so,” She approached him. “I propose a wager. If I beat you, you have to seek out someone to train you. If I lose, you can train yourself.” Selene held out her hand. “Do we have a deal?”

“Deal,” Jayden shook her hand.

“Get dressed,” Selene started to leave. “I’ll see you at the training grounds.” She shut the door to his room. He took the bait now all that was left was to get Scythe to spectate the fight. From there on it was up to Jayden to impress him. She noticed Angel heading toward the training ground with Scythe. It’s as she thought, he planned to use her sparring match with Jayden as a way to get Scythe to train Jayden. She’d let him handle Scythe, she’d deal with Jayden.

The training grounds were set up like an arena. It was empty consisting of nothing but concrete floor and marble walls. The center was marked by a giant bat with wings spread out. The stands above were filled with spectators. There in the throne, Lord Alexander himself, sat watching the match next to his daughter. Angel and Scythe were both standing up there with the king looking down on the fight. Selene crossed her arms waiting for Jayden to arrive at the arena. It felt strange not having Brandon or Patience here to watch her fight. Shouldn’t they be back by now?

“What have I done,” Jayden stared at all his weapons. He couldn’t believe it, he just challenged Selene. There’s no way he could defeat her. She’s six ranks higher than him. She’s going to wipe the floor with him and in front of Blaire too. Perhaps, he shouldn’t show up, no, he couldn’t do that. That’d be worse than losing to her. “I got this, I just got to grab all my weapons and fight like my life depended on it.” He gathered every weapon in his possession stuffing them in his bag. “You can do this,” He left his room bumping into what felt like a wall of muscle. The impact caused him to nearly fall on his ass.

“Careful,” Ziek helped him back on his feet. “You really should-,” He stopped in mid -sentence. “Jayden, is it true that you’re going to challenge Selene?” He replied with a nod. Wait a sec, Ziek is being trained by Selene and he’s an experienced fighter. This is perfect, he could ask him for advice.

“What are my chances of beating her?” Jayden asked. “Should I forfeit or,” He put his hands in the pockets of his jeans. “Do I have a shot?” Ziek patted him on the head. “Well, what do you think?” Come on, there had to be something he could do.

“Selene’s going to kick your ass.” Ziek’s lips formed a smile. “She’s one tough bitch to take down. Believe me,” He placed his hand on his chest. “I fight her almost everyday and sometimes I just can’t beat her.” -What?!- If Ziek can’t beat her either then there’s no way he could. “The woman can fight, it’s like she’s a natural born killer.” Jayden started to tremble in fear. She’s going to obliterate him.

“I can’t really give you any advice but why don’t you ask,” Ziek cringed like something was caught in his throat. “S-Sc-Scythe?” He let out. That’s right, Ziek is Scythe’s rival. Those two couldn’t stand each other. “He’s good when it comes to building a strategy.” Great idea, Jayden raced to stands to find Scythe.

“Scythe,” Jayden grabbed Scythe’s arm. “I really need your help man,” He panicked. “I got this fight with Selene and if you don’t help. She’s going to kick my ass. Come on please tell me I got a chance.” The tactician raised his brow.

“Jayden, shouldn’t you be-,” Angel started to speak but Scythe held out his hand. “As you wish,” He shrugged.

“You are asking me for advice?” Scythe asked, Jayden nodded. “Selene is without a doubt a formidable opponent. There is a chance that you could defeat her though very slim.” He added. “If you follow my instructions, you should do fine.” He brought his lips to Jayden’s ear. “Selene’s far range attacks aren’t as powerful as her close range. If you keep your distance from her, it will offer you the advantage. Should she get close, simply dodge whatever attacks you can and move away from her. If you do that, you might have a chance.”

“Thanks Scythe, you’re the best.” Jayden rushed into the arena. “Let’s do this Selene,” He pulled out his daggers preparing to fight her. Selene walked to the center of the arena. His hands started to tremble. Keep at a distance, don’t let her get close. If he did that, he could defeat her.

“Let’s see what you got,” Selene brushed her blonde hair back. “I promised Angel that I wouldn’t break you.” Her hands tightened into a fist. “It’s too bad, I was never good at keeping my promises.” Angel jumped down from the stands getting in between them. Jayden watched as Angel’s finger counted down from three. The moment he reached one, he jumped out of the way allowing them to face each other.

“Take this,” Jayden quickly jumped back. He began firing several throwing daggers at Selene. She casually evaded every single one of them. Selene flicked a single dagger back at him. The dagger moved so fast it cut the side of his cheek. “Oh shi-,” Before he could finish his sentence Selene’s fist struck him directly in the face. He tried to back away from her. Selene began punching him. Each punch was more ruthless than the next. He felt a powerful jerk on his shirt. Soon after, Selene started slapping him in the face at rapid speeds. He felt the power of her knee strike him in the stomach.

“Out of my sight,” Selene threw him by his shirt. Jayden slid back fighting to stay on his feet. He threw a few more daggers at her, Selene swung her arm. The wind behind her arm caused the daggers to stop before hitting her. “Is this the best you can do?” She put her hands on her hips. “You must be joking,” Jayden glared at her.

“I’m just getting started,” Jayden pulled out throwing darts laced with holy water. He hurled them at her. Selene rushed past them, knocking them back due to her immense speed. He jumped over her throwing more darts, Selene blocked them. Her blue eyes glared at him as the holy water burned her arm. This would block out her ability to turn her blood into a deadly explosive and prevent her from healing herself. “That should even the odds,” He pulled out his daggers charging at her.

“Nice trick,” Selene dodged his attack. “But,” He felt the power of her fist strike his stomach. “It’s going to take much more than that,” She knocked the daggers out of his hands, kicking him back. She appeared in front of him striking him at rapid speeds. Jayden blocked her attacks with his arms. No matter how hard he searched, he couldn’t find an opening, she wasn’t letting up even for a sec-Shit?!- Selene caught him with a leg sweep while he was falling. She grabbed his ankle. Selene spun around, throwing him clear across the arena. Jayden’s body crashed into the stone wall leaving cracks in it.

“Damn it,” Jayden fought to get back on his feet. “I knew you were strong Selene but never this strong. Still,” He reached into his bag pulling out a smoke bomb. “I’m not going to let myself be beat by a girl.” He hurled the smoke bomb at her blinding her. He continued hurling his throwing daggers at her hoping to keep her pinned. “Did I,” Jayden paused having used up all his throwing daggers. “Get her?” He felt his body crash into the wall being kicked by Selene.

“No, you didn’t,” Selene fixed her hair. “You damaged my shirt,” She showed him the cut on her long-sleeved undershirt. Jayden couldn’t believe it. She dodged every single one of his daggers with only getting a cut on her sleeve. “You really shouldn’t damage a woman’s clothing, it only,” She glared into his eyes. “Pisses them off.” Jayden reached for more weapons to throw but he was out. He used them all in that last attack.

“Not good,” Jayden dodged her fist causing her to strike the wall. He ran over to his dagger swinging at her. Selene’s body swayed against every strike dodging every one of them. She caught his hand gripping it tightly.

Selene started to grab Jayden’s other hand but an image struck her mind. This image, she could see her sister Patience in a forest, a smile on her lips. A second flash struck her leaving a sharp pain in her chest. Why is she seeing her sister? This doesn’t make any- Selene felt Jayden’s dagger cut a deep gash on her arm.

“I hit her,” Jayden stared at the blood on his dagger. “I can’t believe I actually got her.” Selene’s eyes burned with rage. “Oh shit, I got her,” He ran picking up throwing daggers off the floor. He started hurling them at her as he grabbed them. Selene snapped her fingers, the blood on Jayden’s dagger exploded. The impact caused him to slide across the ground covered in burn marks. Her abilities must have returned to her.

“I will show you no mercy,” Selene vanished, attacking Jayden at immense speeds. She moved too fast for him to even see her. Jayden could only feel her hitting him relentlessly each strike getting heavier and heavier until. Selene gripped his ankle slamming him on the ground then throwing him aside. “Catch,” Selene tossed a vial of her blood at him, Jayden gasped. Selene snapped her fingers creating a massive explosion leaving a crater in the ground. “Call it,” Selene laced her hand in a light blue aura healing the gash on her arm.

“Selene wins,” Angel announced. Selene began treating Jayden’s wounds from the fight. “I thought I told you not to break him,” He crossed his arms at her. “Don’t you think that explosion was a bit too much.”

“What,” Selene shrugged. “He hit me, he asked for it.” She added. “It’s not like I can’t heal him and besides he’s not dead.” She rose to her feet. “He’s just got knocked out, he’ll be on his feet in no time.”

“Just promise me,” Angel placed his hand on her shoulder. “When you’re done. You’ll take him back to his room.” Selene replied with a nod allowing him to take his leave. She picked Jayden up, placing his unconscious body in Ziek’s arms.

“Take him back to his room.” Selene ordered. Ziek started to argue, she scolded him. “I’m training you, aren’t I?” He groaned. “That means I’m your master and as your master that means you have to do as I say. So, don’t argue and just do it.”

The flashes of the fight echoed in his mind. The effects left his head pounding, Jayden leaned forward rubbing the back of his head. He still couldn’t believe that Selene was able to defeat him that easily. It was clear to him, she was pulling her punches trying to make him look good but for what reason? She could have just used that last combo and finished him in the beginning of the match. Still, Jayden let out a sigh. She beat him, he had to hold up his end of the deal. Jayden climbed out of bed.

Jayden made his way towards Scythe’s bedroom. If he remembered correctly. His room was located on the highest level of the castle. Strange, Lord Alexander and Blaire’s room were both up there with his. That floor of the castle was used for royalty but Scythe didn’t fit that category. That must mean he’s important to the King. Perhaps having him as a master wouldn’t be a bad idea. He arrived at Scythe’s door prepared to knock.

Before Jayden could, his arm started to tremble and freeze. Doubt entered his mind, Scythe is powerful, the greatest swordsman. He’s defeated hundreds of werewolves. Why would someone like that train someone like him? It’s absurd, there’s no way Scythe would ever accept him, he just watched him get his ass kicked by Selene. He should just walk away and forget about it but, it’s Scythe. He had to at least try, he just knew there wasn’t going to be a better person to train him. He tapped light on the door but there was no answer.

“Scythe,” He whispered, still no answer. He tapped again, no answer. Scythe might not be in his room. Lord Alexander has a bad habit of sending him to run errands for him. It’s rare for anyone to really see Scythe in the castle. Perhaps, he should at least check and see if he’s there if not, Jayden will come back later. He turned the knob. The door is unlocked. Jayden continued to push the door open slowly crack by tiny crack. The moment his pale blue eyes peeked into the room. Jayden’s entire body froze in complete shock.

The long strands of Scythe’s black hair were caught in the hands of another man. The man had dark blue hair styled in gothic fashion. His lips were pressed against Scythe’s, his hands touching Scythe’s exposed chest and abs. His frame was equally as gifted as Scythe’s except his skin was only slightly pale.

Jayden could make out a tattoo over the man’s heart, it was that of an elegant butterfly. On his right wrist, there was a small tattoo of a sword. The man had a scar of four claw marks running down his right shoulder. Jayden figured those marks were caused by a werewolf’s claws. His eyes trailed down taking notice of the man’s ripped blue jeans. The zipper on the jeans was partly unzipped revealing his white lighting themed boxer briefs. Jayden’s eyes centered down toward the full-on erection growing in the man’s boxers.

“Oh my,” Jayden couldn’t shake what he had seen. There wasn’t a single doubt. The great Scythe, he’s. There’s got to be a logical explanation, Scythe can’t be into guys. This is not happening the greatest swordsman is. “If only I could say it.” He peeked into the room once more.

“Scythe stop,” The man whispered, taking hold of his hand. “I can’t bone you with someone standing in the doorway.” He pointed towards Jayden, Scythe turned to face him. “You want to deal with it or,” Scythe let out a sigh.

“Forgive me Fate,” Scythe started to get out of bed. Fate took his hand bringing him closer, kissing his neck. “I know, I made a promise that we’d have sex tonight but,” Scythe placed his hands on his mate’s chest. “I need to talk to Jayden for a minute.” He explained. “I will make it up to you of that. You have my word.” Fate bit his lip.

“But Scythe,” Fate countered. “I was looking forward to spending the entire night with you. We rarely see each other,” He pressed his lips against Scythe’s neck. “Come on please,” Fate placed his finger on Scythe’s lip. “Don’t make me wait any longer.” Scythe started to leave but he grabbed his hand.

“I have to go,” Scythe explained. “You are aware that I can’t-,”

“This isn’t fair,” Fate argued. “Why can’t you just spend time on yourself rather than wasting it on others?” Scythe’s eyes formed a piercing glare. “I understand,” He let out a defeated sigh. “If I were to ask you to do that then you wouldn’t be who you are.” He climbed out of bed zipping up his pants. “I’ll bone you later,” He pressed his lips against Scythe’s. Fate picked his shirt up off the floor walking out of the bedroom.

“Jayden,” Scythe’s eyes glanced up at him. “What brings to my room this late at night?” He climbed out of bed zipping up his pants. “This had better be important,” He crossed his arms at him. Jayden still couldn’t shake the fact that Scythe had a boyfriend. Not a girlfriend but a boyfriend. This could make being Scythe’s student a bit more complicated.

“Well um,” Jayden’s eyes remained on Scythe’s mattress. “I was going to ask you to train me but um,” No matter how hard he tried, Jayden couldn’t ignore the fact Scythe is interested in men. He couldn’t let Scythe train him, what if, Scythe started to develop feelings for him. There could be times where Jayden would have to remove his clothing for training reasons. He couldn’t let Scythe train him. “I think I’ll just look elsewhere for training.” He started to leave but the door shut, Scythe stood there blocking his path.

“Why is that?” Scythe raised his brow. “If I was to take a guess on this,” He walked up to Jayden. “You do not wish for me to train you because,” Jayden started to back up, Scythe held one of the many swords hanging on his wall in his hand. “I am interested in men. You think because I like to be taken by guys that I might not be a good fit for you.” He gulped. “That is insulting, first you enter my room unannounced and now, you wish to insult me.” He glared into Jayden’s eyes. “You have no idea what you are getting yourself into. Selene, she is indeed strong but I am much worse. You see,” Scythe held up his sword. “I enjoy cutting things, I like watching people who upset me bleed to death. Sometimes,” His lips formed a sinister smile. “I enjoy cutting them into tiny microscopic pieces.”

“I didn’t mean to insult you.” Jayden held up his hands. “I was just shocked that’s all.” The glare in Scythe’s eyes started to remind of a deadly serpent. He could already visualize the death Scythe had planned for him. “In fact,” He gulped. “It doesn’t bother me at all, I have no problems with you liking men at all.” The glare faded.

“That is good,” Scythe hung his sword up on the wall. “For a moment I thought I was going to have to kill you.” His lips formed a sweet smile. “Now that we have cleared that up, we should discuss the matter at hand.” He cleared his throat. “Training, I for one think training you would not be a bad idea. You take orders well and that is important. You proved that in your fight against Selene. So, if you want, I will train you.”

“Seriously,” Jayden replied. “You’d train me.” Scythe replied with a nod. “Wait but what if you like come on to me. I mean is that going to be a problem or,” Scythe let out a sigh. “Come on, I’m an attractive guy, I mean, you can’t say that you wouldn’t fuck me because I’d fuck me.”

“You are far from being my type.” Scythe answered. “I was the one who bit you and turned you into a vampire. Vampires view the transition in different ways. I choose to view it as if you are my child. By biting you, I made you my child.” He explained. “This means, I have no desire nor, will I ever develop the desire to sleep with you. It would be in poor taste.” Scythe closed his eyes.

“In that case,” Jayden cleared his throat. “I would be honored to be your student.” He added. “I understand you are selective of those you train.” He lowered his head. “So, I’ll ask you formally, Scythe will take me on as your student?”

“Wise choice,” Scythe replied. “If you would have asked informally. I would have declined.” He grabbed his shirt putting it on. “Before I accept, there are a few things you must understand.” He grabbed his sword off the wall. “One, my time is precious and will not be wasted on those unwilling to learn. Two, training will be harsh, there will be no breaks and no excuses for failure.” He sheathed his sword. “If you agree to my terms then let us proceed to the training grounds.” Jayden replied with a nod following Scythe to the training grounds.
