Fairy Tail: Evolution Start From The Black Dragon

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Battle Against the Water Dragon

Faced with Mercphobia's warning, Aegon chuckled wryly, "You're quite amusing."

Despite the heavy rain, Mercphobia observed Aegon with some trepidation, as the rainwater was repelled by the magic surrounding Aegon's body.

Even though Irene possessed considerable strength, she obediently followed Aegon's lead, and Mercphobia couldn't gauge the depth of Aegon's magical power.

This indicated that Aegon's strength might be unfathomable.

Mercphobia squinted, staring closely at Aegon. "Who exactly are you?"

In this tense atmosphere, Aegon chuckled, "By the way, I have a question for you. Have you ever seen the Black Dragon?"

Although puzzled by Aegon's sudden mention of a Black Dragon, Mercphobia still answered the question, "No, I have never seen the Black Dragon."

Aegon smirked slightly, somewhat sarcastically, "So you've never fought the Black Dragon and fled to Guiltina?"

Mercphobia paid no heed to Aegon's sarcasm and laughed, "It's not shameful, as the majority of dragons who fled to Guiltina have never fought the Black Dragon."

As far as he knew, among the surviving Five Dragon Gods, it seemed that only Aldoron, the Wood Dragon God, had clearly battled the Black Dragon. The rest of the dragons during the past four hundred years had not progressed to the level of the Five Dragon Gods, let alone confront the Black Dragon.

"What a pity..."

As he spoke, a black-red mist emanated from Aegon, shrouding him, and the sky suddenly darkened, obscured by gloomy clouds. A pair of black wings, covered with blue-red patterns, extended first.

Mercphobia's pupils contracted suddenly, stunned for a moment. "A dragon? Such oppressive power..."

The black-red mist exploded, scattering crimson light...

A ferocious black dragon covered in black scales adorned with blue-red patterns flapped its wings and soared in the sky, locking eyes with Mercphobia.

Roar—

Aegon roared angrily, and the torrential rain suddenly ceased, with the receding seawater rushing back into Aelmina!

Mercphobia's eyes widened in shock. "The Black... Black Dragon?!"

Watching the black dragon raise its head, Mercphobia's expression became bewildered. "No! You're not a Black Dragon!"

Although he had never truly seen a Black Dragon, Mercphobia knew that a transformed Black Dragon would have black wings with mysterious blue patterns, without any red markings, and wouldn't be of such immense size as this one.

"Guessed right, but no reward."

Aegon accelerated with his wings, his right claw clenched into a fist, the blue-red patterns on his arm flashing wildly.

"Mach Strike!"

With a thunderous sonic boom, the massive black dragon was already closing in!

Mercphobia's eyes filled with horror. "So fast!"

In the blink of an eye, Aegon was right in front of him, and Mercphobia didn't expect such speed from Aegon's massive size.

The water dragon was hit squarely in the chest, sending his serpentine body plummeting downward.

The black dragon's claw then came again, aiming straight for Mercphobia's face!

The legendary Fist of Friendship!

Boom!

The water dragon's body, over thirty meters long, crashed into the sea, creating towering water sprays!

Meanwhile, Ignia, the Flame Dragon God, who was flying towards Ermina, abruptly changed direction...

Although Ignia didn't consider Mercphobia his equal in strength, the gap between them wasn't this enormous. Mercphobia was completely dominated by Aegon with just one encounter.

At the same time, a question arose in Ignia's mind: "Is he really Black Dragon Acnologia...? It's not yet certain, seems it's not the right time..."

Ignia decisively changed direction, believing that the Black Dragon would soon seek out other dragon gods.

Struggling to raise his head from the water, Mercphobia transformed into a blue light, bursting out of the water angrily.

Opening his mouth, Mercphobia swallowed seawater before unleashing a surging azure water pillar!

Aegon accelerated once again, charging directly into the azure water pillar!

Mercphobia's eyes widened in shock as he felt Aegon's figure getting closer...

Even his full roar couldn't stop Aegon's approach!

Aegon's head slammed into Mercphobia's chin, interrupting his roar and sending the water dragon's body crashing toward Ermina, now devoid of the receding tide!

The water dragon's body crushed windmills and destroyed a large swath of buildings.

The residents of Aelmina had never seen the water dragon in such a sorry state. "Water Lord..."

Hovering in the sky, Aegon looked down at the water dragon, his wings blocking out the moon.

Mercphobia struggled to raise his head, but ultimately, he couldn't resist the blow and collapsed, his chin taking a heavy blow leaving him somewhat dazed.

The onlookers held their breath, wishing to help Mercphobia, but they were just ordinary humans. Even if they knew some magic, they couldn't stop such a formidable enemy.

"This outcome might be for the best..." With his eyes closed, Mercphobia prepared to meet his death...

"Stop!!!"

An urgent, yet determined voice, young and firm, echoed loudly in the silence.

The surrounding crowd, as well as Irene and the others watching the battle, were all stunned.

A young girl, with a face still panting, full of determination, about five or six years old, stood with her arms outstretched between...

Aegon and Mercphobia!

In the gaze of Aegon and Mercphobia, her small hand touched Mercphobia's snout. "Water Lord..."

The palm... was burning hot.

Under the night sky, in this crowded yet silent street, this scene seemed especially strange.

Mercphobia frowned slightly, "Karameel... Leave this place."

Karameel's breath was still heavy.

Clearly, she must have run quite a distance with her short legs. She shook her head, her young face filled with determination.

"No, Water Lord."

"Hahaha!"

Mercphobia, who had just struggled to stand, burst into laughter.

Honestly, saving Karameel earlier was just a moment of goodwill, and he didn't consider her particularly important.

But at this moment, even he wasn't sure. With a glance at the silent Aegon, Mercphobia quickly made a decision.

He struggled to raise his head, facing Aegon:

"I don't know if you're really a Black Dragon... I can die, but I ask you to spare this child."

"Then submit yourself."

"What?"

As Aegon's words were heard, several gasps were heard simultaneously.

One came from Irene and her companions.

One came from Selene, the Moon Dragon God, who was drinking alone under the moonlight. She frowned, "He's not the Black Dragon. But he looks so similar..."

One came from Mercphobia himself. Submitting was akin to humiliation for a proud dragon, but thinking of Karameel, as well as the prayers and worries of the residents of Ermina City, he quickly made a decision.

Bathed in blue light, Mercphobia transformed back into his dragon form and knelt, lowering his head.

"I... Mercphobia, am willing to submit."
