Book 8: Chapter 103: Sa’s Orders
Gu Hai’s true body returned to the plaza in front of Ground Control Palace with Lin Waner in tow. Suddenly, they heard six fierce cries coming from the East Spiritual Fire Sea’s direction.
Both Gu Hais’ faces turned grim, while Kong Xuan, Long Wanyu, and the others all looked eastward.
“Zhu Qiqi’s six elder brothers?” Kong Xuan said in bewilderment.
“There are six more Vermilion Bird Primes?” the Mosquito Daoist exclaimed in shock.
Grave looks flashed in both Gu Hais’ eyes.
“Brother-in-Law, you’re back. Is this Jingwei or…?” Long Wanyu looked at Lin Waner.
“This is Waner!” Gu Hai’s true body explained.
Long Wanyu glanced at Lin Waner, her eyebrows slightly creased, uncertain about what to call her.
Lin Waner smiled at Long Wanyu. Although the two women did not speak, they seemed friendly enough.
“Six Vermilion Bird Primes? How do their strengths compare to Zhu Qiqi’s?” Gu Hai’s true body asked Long Wanyu.
“Of course, her six elder brothers are powerful. They were all Sa’s pets. The only question is whether they have Sa’s energy,” Long Wanyu replied with gravity.
Gu Hai looked into the distance in silence.
“Let’s go back to the land of the living for now!” Gu Hai’s true body said calmly.
Lin Waner nodded.
Gu Hai’s true body led Lin Waner to Yinyang Valley, with Long Wanyu following closely.
Kong Xuan, the Mosquito Daoist, and Long Shenying turned their attention to the skeleton Gu Hai.
The skeleton Gu Hai frowned deeply. “Inform everyone to be on high alert!”
“Yes!” Kong Xuan responded.
“These six are stronger than Zhu Qiqi? Your Holy Eminence, this is quite tricky,” the Mosquito Daoist said uneasily.
“At this point, we can only face it. Mosquito Daoist, your countless black mosquito clones should be used to gather information about what’s happening in the East Spiritual Fire Sea!” Gu Hai instructed.
“Yes!” the Mosquito Daoist replied.
The skeleton Gu Hai prepared himself. Even if the six Vermilion Bird Primes were to attack, he would have to confront them head-on.
------
Yin Tiger Deity Hall:
The Unrestrained Heavenly Demon and others had been watching the East Spiritual Fire Sea.
The fire there had just died, but now fresh flames flared up. Six furious cries resounded, shaking the world.
“The six vermilion bird brothers? They are alive?” The Unrestrained Heavenly Demon was astonished.
“Milord, if these six Vermilion Bird brothers find out Zhu Qiqi is dead, won’t they go mad?” the Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon said with a trace of anticipation.
The others’ eyes suddenly lit up.
“Indeed. These six brothers only have one younger sister. With Zhu Qiqi dead, wouldn’t it mean…? Gu Hai is finished! Ba is finished!” The Bellowing Griever Heavenly Demon also expressed anticipation.
“Milord, shall I go and inform them of the truth?” the Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon inquired hopefully.
“You can go if you want to die,” the Unrestrained Heavenly Demon replied indifferently.
“Huh?” The Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon was bewildered.
“They are all madmen. Zhu Qiqi just died, and they will need to vent. If you go now, no matter if you’re right or wrong, they’ll blame you and vent their feelings on you. Then…,” the Unrestrained Heavenly Demon explained indifferently.
“Huh? Yes, thank you, Milord!” The Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon’s face froze. He did not want to get involved in this mess.
Just then, deafening roars suddenly erupted from the East Spiritual Fire Sea.
“Little Qi, who killed you? Ah!”
“Little Qi died? I’ll avenge you, Little Qi!”
“Hah! Who did it?!”
…
The furious voices echoed throughout the East Spiritual Fire Sea, spreading their boundless hatred to the world. Are Zhu Qiqi’s six elder brothers about to go berserk?
The Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon and the others all wore hopeful expressions, awaiting developments.
------
Everlasting Nether Capital:
Gu Hai prepared to face powerful enemies. He was ready to mobilize all the forces of the Han Nation at any moment.
However, after this moment of rage, the East Spiritual Fire Sea suddenly quieted down, returning to its previous size.
The six Vermilion Bird Primes fell silent strangely, leaving an eerie stillness behind.
“What’s going on? Why did they suddenly fall silent?” the Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon asked in astonishment.
The Unrestrained Heavenly Demon was equally puzzled.
The East Spiritual Fire Sea remained eerily quiet. The six Vermilion Bird Primes, who had just shouted about seeking vengeance, had suddenly fallen silent?
------
The East Spiritual Fire Sea:
Six spatial tears appeared where Zhu Qiqi had emerged from its seal. Then six massive vermilion birds came out from them, all showing ferocious expressions and ruffled feathers.
They sensed Zhu Qiqi’s death and erupted in anger, roaring their hatred to the world.
However, just as the six vermilion birds were about to seek revenge, six streams of Sa’s energy flowed into their bodies from their respective spatial tears.
The six vermilion birds trembled and fell silent, transforming into six men in red robes who knelt on the ground at the altar, showing extreme reverence.
“Mas-Master!” the vermilion birds greeted respectfully.
“Master, Little Qi was killed. We need to avenge her!” one of the men said anxiously.
Slap!
A loud slap cracked on the man’s face, suddenly causing it to swell oddly.
However, even with his face swollen, the man did not dare to heal it. He only wore an expression of fear and fell into terrified silence.
The six vermilion birds knelt quietly, their bodies emanating a trace of Sa’s energy. Slowly, the energy manipulated space, forming a majestic voice.
“Listen carefully to every word from this Immortal!” The authoritative voice sounded icy.
“Yes!” The six men nodded vigorously in unison.
The majestic voice came again. “Because I transmitted a portion of my energy to you last time, my return route was stolen by someone, making it impossible for me to return for many years. You bear a great deal of responsibility for this!”
“We didn’t know, Master. Forgive us!” the vermilion birds said anxiously.
Their master was naturally Sa.
“There is no more path within the void. However, this Immortal could forge a path back then; I naturally can forge another path. Fortunately, I deposited some of my energy in you all back then, allowing this Immortal’s consciousness to contact you. Using you, this Immortal can return to the Divine Continent soon. During this time, none of you is allowed to die!” Sa’s voice was icy
“Yes, we will not die!” the six men immediately vowed.
“So, regardless of any grievances you may have now, you must not make enemies everywhere. After this Immortal returns, you may indulge your desires,” Sa said coldly.
The six men’s faces changed. We cannot seek vengeance now? But Qiqi died a wronged death!
They harbored deep hatred, but since Sa had spoken, none of them dared to seek revenge at this moment.
“My return route was stolen, so someone must have returned through that path. The six of you must find the person from that other immortal firmament!” Sa’s voice was serious.
“Another immortal firmament?”
There are other immortal firmaments?
“Yes!” The six men nodded in response.
If someone else had mentioned this, the six men would not have believed it. However, since their master said it, who dared not to believe?
“Secondly, investigate the situation in the world. I want to know what the world is like now!” Sa’s voice said coldly.
“Yes, Master, you can rest assured!” the six men replied.
“If you don’t die, I will be able to return soon. If you die, I will have to find a new route. I almost found one in the past, but Fuxi destroyed it. When Fuxi died, this Immortal had to search again. During this period, you must not make enemies everywhere, even seemingly ordinary people. Do not create potential trouble for me!” Sa said coldly.
“Yes!” the six men replied.
“I can instantly shatter the spiritual souls and physical souls of anyone who goes against my will, even from another immortal firmament,” Sa warned coldly.
“Yes!” The six men dared not disobey.
“Quietly investigate the affairs of the world and report to me once a month. My remnant consciousness will remain in your minds!”
“Yes, Master, rest assured. We will do our best!” the six men said respectfully.
Buzz!
The space around them trembled slightly, and a strange energy rushed into their foreheads and dissolved into nothingness.
The six men exchanged glances, their eyes revealing a hint of reluctance.
“Eldest Brother, what about Qiqi’s revenge?” one of the men asked.
“We can wait to avenge Qiqi. Master instructed that we should not make enemies everywhere. This is our old ritual altar. Let’s set up a ritual array around it first to prevent anyone from probing its interior. Then, we’ll take turns investigating the affairs of the land of the living and the nether realm,” the leader, Zhu Yiyi, said in a stern voice.
“Yes, Eldest Brother. I wonder if that Jiangchen is dead.”
“Our master already made it clear. We are not allowed to make trouble for Jiangchen. Our master wants to destroy his spiritual souls personally!”
“Yes!” The others nodded in agreement.
The Vermilion Bird Primes were incredibly powerful. After using ritual arrays, they become even stronger.
Gu Hai, the Unrestrained Heavenly Demon, and the others waited for a long time. When they found that the East Spiritual Fire Sea had strangely calmed down, they felt equally puzzled.
The Mosquito Daoist and the Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon, representing two major factions, had quietly come to investigate. However, they could not enter the East Spiritual Fire Sea at all.
“Reporting to His Holy Eminence, the East Spiritual Fire Sea is sealed by a ritual array. My black mosquitos are unable to enter!” the Mosquito Daoist said with a wry smile.
“Reporting to Milord, the East Spiritual Fire Sea is sealed, and I…I dare not intrude,” the Divine Scorpion Heavenly Demon reported to the Unrestrained Heavenly Demon with a bitter smile.
Gu Hai and the Unrestrained Heavenly Demon remained silent for a while, gazing at the East Spiritual Fire Sea.
“Mosquito Daoist, continue to monitor the East Spiritual Fire Sea!” Gu Hai ordered.
“Yes!”
------
The land of the living:
Gu Hai brought Lin Waner out of the nether realm and immediately saw Chen Xianer and Long Wanqing, who had been worried sick.
“Husband, who is this?” Long Wanqing looked at Lin Waner, her expression slightly changing.
“Elder Sister, this is Lin Waner!” Long Wanyu quickly exclaimed.
Long Wanqing frowned. “Wanyu, what did I tell you earlier? How should you address her?”
“Uh…I… You said I should address her as Elder Sister Lin!” Long Wanyu’s voice immediately softened.
“It’s alright. It’s alright. Just call me Waner!” Lin Waner quickly reassured Long Wanyu.
“Well, let’s not stand around. Our whole family is finally together again. Let’s go back inside!” Chen Xianer smiled.
“Alright!” The women all nodded.
“Husband, now all our sisters are accounted for, right?” Chen Xianer smiled.
Gu Hai rubbed his nose and smiled wryly, at a loss for words.
He did not want to interfere in the conversation between the women. Fortunately, Chen Xianer was very open-minded, and there were no issues in the harem.
“You all go chat. I have some official business to attend to in the study!” Gu Hai said solemnly.
The women nodded, pulling Lin Waner into the residential area of the palace.
Lin Waner glanced back at Gu Hai with some reluctance, but the other women were quite welcoming, and she could not refuse their kindness, so she went along with them.
Gu Hai sighed quietly and walked towards his study.
