Chapter 105: Saintess
Bubai's fingers gently rubbed the soft, pink lips on the goddess's face, her lips delicately yielding under his touch, unveiling a perfect set of pearl-white teeth and an exquisite tongue.
Truly flawless. A divine beauty transcending mortal comprehension.
Yet, her inherent holiness held an irresistible attraction... just asking to be desecrated.
This... is the previous Saintess of the Cloud Sword Sect.
Bubai took note of her metal band, “Can she hear my commands?”
The eunuch, as if reading his thoughts, explained, "We nullified her senses to prevent others from communicating with her."
Ah, understood. She was, in essence, just a doll in this elaborate setup.
No reactions, yet her divine face alone was capable of crumbling city walls. Bubai couldn't fathom the splendor it would be if there was a response...
Bubai’s grip tightened. The ensuing force exerted caused the white cloth to slip off slightly, partially revealing the tip of the iceberg of the full version of this holy business.
Time ticked away...
The shoddy production was soon completed, leaving a boiling furnace.
Punctually, the eunuch signaled the end of the allotted period, “Time’s up. Feel free to come again at anytime.”
East District.
As Bubai took the key card from the tower's key slot, he cast a glance back to see the expressionless Xiao Lan standing with her head bowed.
She had been like this the entire way back. Well, it was a no-brainer.
When the door rumbled shut behind them, Bubai turned back and began, “Xiao Lan-”
However, Xiao Lan coldly walked past him without giving him a chance, rushing straight into the storage room.
“Xiao Lan!” A sense of concern tugged at him, and Bubai hurriedly chased after her, only to have the door sliding shut in his face.
Patting on the door, he called out, "Xiao Lan! Xiao Lan-"
The muffled response came from the other side, “Let me be alone for a bit. I’ll be fine.”
"Really alright?"
“I’m fine.”
He doubts that. Bubai’s divine sense seeped through the glass door, revealing the disheartening scene behind it.
Xiao Lan had slid down against the door, burying her face in her knees. She is not fine.
Sigh. All his hard work went down the drain over just one trip. He was seriously unreconciled!
No, he can’t just let it end like this!
With one pull, Bubai forcefully tore open the door. Before she could react, he scooped Xiao Lan up in a princess carry.
Xiao Lan finally reacted, struggling to get out from his arms, but despite her struggles, she couldn't escape from his strong arms.
In a desperate attempt, she bit down on his arm!
He could feel the sting and the blood flow, but he still refused to release her, rushing up the stairs and into the bedroom.
The tension escalated as he threw her onto the bed and trapped her hands above her head, his gaze penetrating into her eyes.
Tick. A drop of blood dripped onto her face, causing the struggles to cease.
Noticing the source of the blood, Xiao Lan averted her gaze, turning her face to the side.
“I know you don’t want to see me, but hiding will not resolve any problem.” Bubai resolutely turned her face back to meet his, his thumb rubbing away the blood on her face.
Staring brazenly into the glassy eyes that mirrored his reflection, he could feel her discomfort, yet he didn’t let her run from his confession.
“Xiao Lan, there may be many changes in the process, but I promised to help you, and I will.”
Leaning down, Bubai planted a gentle kiss on her forehead, “So...”
Slowly, he rose back up, his eyes never leaving hers in the process.
“Hate me if you want. Just don’t run away from me.”
With his declaration hanging in the air, he slowly released her hands, moving his hand to trap her in between his arms.
He stared down at her, his worried expression clearly worn on his face. The glassy eyes staring back at him began to tremble as the beauty bit her purplish lips.
The complex emotions swirling between them was finally broken when Xiao Lan’s hands slowly reached up, wrapping around his neck. “Then... make me forget.”
Lounge.
Munching on her dried ration, Wei Er leaned in and whispered to her busy sister, “What’s wrong with them?”
Pausing her cleaning, Wei Yi followed her sister’s gaze across the lounge, seeing her master standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun outside.
Standing next to him was the woman with purple hair, her willowy silhouette painted against the hues of twilight as her head comfortably rested on her master’s shoulder.
Together, they formed a serene scene – one that invoked envy within her.
Her hand tightened around the handle of her feather duster. If only she could be the one…
Wei Yi immediately suppressed the wrong thoughts, maintaining her composed expression as she rapped her sister lightly on the forehead, “Don’t meddle in master’s business.”
Wei Er pouted, turning away in a huff and stuffing her mouth with the meager ration.
By the window, Bubai had his eyes closed, yet he could feel the warmth of the sun seeping through the glass, absorbed by his body.
Meanwhile, the darkness behind his closed eyes was substituted by the vivid scene of a familiar library. Shu Fairy was sitting across from him, finishing her explanation.
“… Without treasures as supplement, even if the Yin source recovers, it still affects the victim permanently. The price is just hidden. Hum, it’s usually just a reduction in lifespan. But this alone is enough cause for dual cultivation to be classified as a demonic path...”
The scene faded away and Bubai opened his eyes, savoring one last glimpse of the setting sun.
He then turned his attention to the sleeping beauty borrowing his shoulder. “Xiao Lan.”
Awakening from her slumber, Xiao Lan slowly lifted her head, silently meeting his gaze.
Bubai slipped a pouch of spirit rice into her hand, gently clasping her fingers around it as he whispered, “Recover as soon as possible.”
“...” Xiao Lan nodded, “En. Listen to you.”
With an affectionate smile, Bubai’s fingers tenderly brushed against her cheek before planting a quick peck on her lips. “Then, I’m off.”
Bubai left the beauty standing alone. Seeing him walk toward the stairs, Wei Yi hastily lifted a clean sack from the ground with both hands.
Rushing over, she handed it to the Bubai, “Master, your formation supplies.”
Bubai took the bag with one hand and slung it over his shoulder. Reaching out with his other hand, he softly petted her on the head. “Be obedient you two.”
Wei Yi did her best to maintain her composed expression, yet she still leaned affectionately into his touch, “Yes, master.”
Bubai headed downstairs, departing from the tower.
From the window, Xiao Lan watched the empty-handed Bubai leaving with a steady pace, waiting until his figure disappeared around the bend before she turned away.
With a deadpan expression, her blue eyes swept over the twins before she too headed downstairs.
Tiptoeing a bit to peek down the empty staircase, Wei Er mumbled under her breath. “Weird. Everyone is weird after coming back today.”
Wei Yi shot her a glare, clearly displeased with her sister's nosy antics. “You’re the weird one.”
“Am not!”
