Chapter 46: Little boy
"Is harassing married women a habit of yours?" Ari questioned Nicolai. Her heart thudded in her chest as if hoping to escape from the shackles that bound it.
Timmy was rubbing against Nicolai, who patted his head as if they were the best of friends. She did not know that her Timmy was such a traitorous little thing, how come he was all chummy with this man who reeked of blood and teased a woman although she had a husband?
There was a constant hammering inside her head, Ari knew that she needed to get the f*ck away from here because she couldn't be caught in the company of Nicolai De Luca. Firstly, she hadn't yet divorced Noah and secondly, if she was caught keeping the rival of her husband company——
Ari was certain that she would be once again tied together with Noah, as everyone would think that she befriended Nicolai because she wanted to get back at Noah. Ari did not need that unwanted judgment.
However, there was a small hurdle ——
No, correction. As she watched Nicolai stand to his full height, Ari knew that he was not a hurdle but a freaking fort.
"What do you mean by harassing married women? I just appreciated the beauty of nature and nothing else," the man volleyed back as if he did not just gaze up and down at her. His eyes were literally trying to peel her layer by layer.
Ari curled her lips. She had to ignore the clusterf*ck that Nicolai had brought into her life because if he were to find out that his grinning idiotic self affected her, then Nicolai might trouble her even more.
"Right. Then you can enjoy the sight as much as you want," Ari said to the man with a smile before turning her attention to Timmy. "Come, Timmy, we need to let this good man enjoy his peace and quiet."
Her dog let out a whine and Ari was speechless as her dog never let out a whine. At least not against her.
What kind of dark potion did this guy feed her Timmy for him to act like such?
"Timmy," she called her pet dog again, who walked over to where she stood with his ears drooping. Ari's lips twitched as she glared at Nicolai, who had caused Timmy to go against her.
However, the man simply smiled at her.
Ari tried to ignore the small waves that rippled in her chest at his smile.
She tried to pay attention to something else, and that was when her gaze fell on his attire.
It showed off his well-toned body. Even though it was four in the morning, he was dressed in a short jacket with a shirt that had no buttons and only strings. It would have been fine if not for the fact that the shirt only comprised two curved sides that left his abdominal muscles at full display.
His black pants hung so low on his hips that Ari was sure that if he were to bend down, he would end up fleshing his business to everyone. Because she had a feeling that Nicolai wasn't wearing anything underneath his pants. Don't ask her how she knew it.
She could see the extravagant tattoos spread over his chest, and front, along with his sides and maybe back. He tied his long hair in a short bun looking charming as ever and his charm only exceeded past the limit when Ari saw him flick the metal ring in his bottom lip with the tip of his tongue.
He stroked the Frisbee that he had taken from Timmy at some point and then said to Ari, "You seem to be looking at me with quite some passion there, Mrs. Nelson. Stop looking at me with so much love, or I might end up biting the forbidden fruit. I heard it tastes delicious."
Ari clenched her fists and barely stopped herself from hurling her fists at the man in front of her. No matter what kind of man he was, he had helped her, and she couldn't just punch him in the face.
She snatched the Frisbee from him and then threw an insult in his direction, "I am not interested, now you need to go back home, Little boy."
There it was, she had taunted him back for all the teasing he had handed her. Not that she was upset over the fact that a man much younger than her was dragging her around by her nose. And there was no way she had laid in her bed while thinking about a retort that she would throw his way the next time he showed up in front of her.
She then turned around and dragged Timmy away. No matter how much he wanted to go back to the man who saved her.
"No, Timmy, we can't. He is dangerous," Ari tried to explain to Timmy why they couldn't get any closer to Nicolai. That man chopped people like a butcher chopped livestock. The last time she saw him, he smelled of blood and even though there was not a single drop of blood on his clothes, Ari had smelled it on him.
As Ari was not fond of visiting the police station, she had to stay away from Nicolai.
Once again, her plans, however, plummeted to the deepest pits of hell.
That damned man caught up to her in no time, as his legs were longer than hers. He whipped in front of her and then said to her with a grin, "This little boy is twenty-four years old this year. Not that younger than you, Mrs. Nelson. Oh right, you might not know much about me as you have centred your life around your husband, but … don't you think that I am much hotter than your husband? Muscular and taller too… And oh, I am pretty much packed down there as well."
Ari stared at him with a horrified look before picking up Timmy in her arms who was trying to jump on Nicolai and ran.
That was pervert, alright.
