Escaped My Ex, Got Snatched by His Rival

Chapter 39: Provoking her (2)

Glynn raised her head and looked at the man who pushed her. Her eyes widened slightly when she realized it was Regal, her ex-boyfriend and the man whom she had loved more than herself.

Sharp twinges of pain caused her heart to ache, but Glynn acted as if everything was fine. She raised her head haughtily and then commented with a sneer, "Will you look at that? The dog is protecting his master. What a show of loyalty, I am incredibly touched."

Regal, who was holding Erica stiffened. He had never thought that the woman who had once held his hands and promised him the world, would one day sneer at him and call him a dog. But then again, what could he expect from a woman who was only playing with him like a boy toy?

He turned to look at Glynn and then snapped back, "Why are you getting angry at her when she only said the truth?"

His words more or less confirmed that Glynn had cried and begged a man with no power and background to stay with her. The crowd of onlookers turned to look at Glynn, whose face turned red with embarrassment. She clenched the clutch in her hands, she couldn't believe that Regal was willing to embarrass her for Erica.

Her fingers trembled slightly, maybe it was because of the cold air and the sticky clothes that she was wearing, as Glynn would never accept the fact that Regal's indifference hurt her.

"You seem to be taking yourself too seriously. There is no need for you to give yourself too much importance," Glynn remarked with a touch of arrogance. "I am the princess of the Nelson family, any man would be willing to die if I were to ask him. Do you think that I will lower myself for the likes of you?"

Her words dwindled the suspicion in the hearts of others. As what Glynn said was indeed right, she was the heiress of the Nelson family. Everyone in the room knew that the Nelsons were the richest, and the only family that could go against them was the De Luca family.

Why would the daughter of the Nelson family lower her head in front of a man who had nothing?

The doubts of the people in the room vanished, and they turned to look at Regal and Erica with contempt. Regal who had spoken the truth didn't think that he would be subjected to such gazes, but then again, those who had power decided the truth and lies.

As he had neither of them, it was not a surprise that everyone thought that he was a liar.

He was embarrassed, but he didn't fight against Glynn who could turn the course of events with just a few words. However, Erica was a different story.

She had been thoroughly embarrassed by Glynn. Not only was her hair pulled until a few strands were ripped out of her scalp, but she was slapped as well. Ever since she was a child, this had never happened to her!

Her eyes flashed with anger, as she pushed her blue hair back. She looked at Glynn with an air of superiority and said, "I heard from my mother that bad company is like coal. One, who gets in touch with it, will also be stained. Sure enough, she was correct."

"What do you mean by that?" Glynn questioned as she wiped the wine droplets off her face. She wanted to go back home and take a bath, but she would be damned if she let Erica have the last word.

Erica curled her lips into one of the demonic proportions. As if she had been waiting for Glynn to provoke that side of her. She tilted her head to the side and then answered, "I heard from my friend's sister that your sister-in-law rushed inside the private room and beat up Young Master Baker and your brother."

"Looks like you have learned a thing or two with that shrew-like sister-in-law of yours."

"She is no sister-in-law of mine," Glynn shot back, but even if she denied having any relations with Ari, it didn't matter because it didn't change the fact that Ariana was married to Noah.

Erica laughed at her denial and then shook her head. "Regardless of what you say, the fact will remain undoubtedly unchanged. That shrew is your sister-in-law and you are the same. So what if you are the princess of the Nelson family? It cannot hide your shallow and twisted upbringing."

Everyone thought that Glynn would hit Erica again, but instead, she laughed. A crazy expression morphed on Glynn's face as she remarked, "So you want your father to get on his knees and beg for the corporation again, huh?"

Her words caused Erica to frown, which lit up a sadistic smile on Glynn's face. She informed Erica, "Your father almost went down on his knees and begged my brother to sign a contract. My brother was about to reject it, but I let him sign it because I liked the fact that your father was bowing his head."

She curled her lips in an even wider smirk when Erica's face turned pale. "However, looks like you do not like it," Glynn scrunched up her nose and snorted. "Very well then."

After speaking, she stormed past Regal and Erica.

Carl, who had never expected things to reach this far, immediately turned pale. He knew that Glynn was angry, and in case she decided to take this anger out on him.

"Wait, Glynn!" He chased after her, ignoring Erica whose expression had turned twisted. But who asked her to provoke the tiger? It was a known fact that Erica's family was no longer the same as it was before, even if they were rich, they were not rich enough to go against Glynn.

However, it seemed like Erica was having a hard time accepting that fact.

"AHHH!!!! That dumb b*tch!" Erica stomped angrily as she threw the phone in her hands on the ground. She was part furious and part nervous, as she hadn't expected that Glynn would take this matter to their family. After all, that woman was too proud, but it seemed like she had pushed a button she shouldn't have. She turned to look at Regal and slapped him on the face, "It's all your fault! Why are you so useless."
