Chapter 06
"Hah!"
Arianna stood up in shock and blankly stared at her surroundings. A headache suddenly appeared, making her groan in pain.
“Ugh…”
Unfamiliar memories started pouring into her view making her dizzy at the strange phenomenon that is happening to her. Trying to balance herself, she grabbed a hold of her head and clenched it roughly to make the pain go away.
A few minutes passed after finally being released from the pain that had been clutching onto her brain.
Her eyes trembled and narrowed after realizing the unfamiliar events and people that appeared in her memories and strange and difficult interactions with others.
She frowned. Before she could go deeper in her thoughts about what exactly occurred to her, she noticed unfamiliar bedding, and her hands were covered in scars.
Calluses.
It only appears if a person practices the sword for a long time or… a common situation where a person does housework…
She looked at her hands in shock. Arianna widen her eyes in understanding as she looked around the room finally calming down.
“So that’s what it is…”
She heaved a frustrated sigh. She scanned the body she is in hold off after getting up from bed.
She felt uncomfortable from just laying down on it as she wasn’t used to sleeping on a small twin bed. She was in a nightgown and her body appears to be younger than 20.
Her frown deepened. Suddenly, a bright light appeared in front of her making her close her eyes in surprise. Feeling it fade away, she opened her eyes to see a strange bluish square paper floating in the air.
There was also a letter slowly appearing. Curious, she raised her hands to touch it but was stopped by the hands of a flying blonde hair little boy.
[Don’t touch it!]
Hearing the familiar voice she couldn’t help but laugh as she spoke out his name.
“Ge Ge?”
The little boy, Ge Ge, snorted and let go of her hands after being convinced her eyesight of interest isn’t the thing that appeared in front of her.
[Yep. Before you ask, this is just one of my comfortable forms so don’t even ask about my true form.]
“Oh.”
Arianna blinked her eyes and nodded softly. He looked at her in satisfaction and quickly told her something.
[Quick introduction. This in front of you is the system.]
He pointed at the floating bluish written screen.
“System?”
[That— Ah, of course…]
He gave a quick introduction of what exactly a system is and what it does forgetting there was no such thing or knowledge of it in her time and world.
After the information was brought to her adaptation mindset and asking questions, a spark appeared within her amber eyes.
“I somehow understand what a system is. But why does the client have a similar appearance to my younger self..?”
He stared at her thoughtfully at the good question that was given. He smiled slightly and pressed his small hand against her head.
[More people are in a similar situation as you are right now. And some clients are given to you so the possessors, let’s call you people agents, don’t mistakenly give out your true appearance that will give suspicion to the mortals that aren’t involved in this phenomena. Do you understand?]
He stared at her with a stoic gaze like a father giving a life lesson to his naive daughter. The scene was amusing with the floating child staring down at the young woman who nodded obediently.
“Ok. Got it. So what does the client I’m currently possessing wish to achieve.”
Arianna looked up with a serious expression showing she was all ears. Ge Ge smiled happily at the lucky and sincere agent he got. He can wait to talk about this to his friend!
He cleared his throat and spoke out in his childish voice.
[Hm. Hm. To summarize it, she wants her master to live happily and not involve himself with his best friend and his first love.]
She tilted her head in confusion and tapped her chin in thought. She didn’t like the title, ‘master.’
“Was the client a former slave?”
[Correct! And let me tell you this as we will deal with the system later…]
He tapped his index finger on her forehead and stared at her coldly.
[This world like the others has a storyline in needs to follow. And the ones that are holdoff are the cores of keeping the world alive. So don’t think of destroying those two people that were mentioned to keep away that man from them.]
She looked at him in surprise, completely unaware he looked through her plan.
[Plus you won’t be able to control your power and will go out of control if you get emotional, so be careful.]
Hearing his words, she stared at him, puzzled.
“Won’t you be staying by my side?”
He shook his head in response.
[You don’t hold the right to make me able to involve myself in your missions right now.]
“So you can stick to my side once I so-called level up the system?”
He nodded again at her question. He gazed at her for a while and finally heaved a sigh.
[Look through the memories that were given to you to understand how you will deal with and complete the mission reasonably and I will be on standby.]
She gazed at him silently and shrugged slightly.
“I will somehow deal with this crazy and strange situation of mine.”
He smiled in laughter and waved his hand before finally disappearing like the time when she was brought to this place.
Seeing the empty air, she glanced at the screen and waved it off making the bluish screen with her name and other stats disappear.
Creak—
She laid down atop her current bed. She stared at the ceiling with a blank expression. She started to wonder where she should start exploring and in which direction her plan will go.
