Goliath
Orion jumps from pier to pier, bridge to bridge, boat to boat, firing his gun, killing and attacking the small group invading their port.
As he empties a clip across the way at a monster, one jumps from the water on to the deck in front of him. He slams his rifle across the enemy's jaw, breaking it, then kicks him back in the water.
Suddenly, Orion hears screams coming from behind him, and a shadow covering the ground in front of him.
Instead of turning, he runs.
Orion again, like a frog, jumps from boat to boat and bridge to bridge.
But now the giant skinny fallen monster jumps after him, swinging its massive yet skinny tentacle like arms and legs.
Orion makes a leap towards one of the few parts of the wooden paths that are not destroyed.
He turns to watch the giant slam into a boat and flip it high into the air, as it leap frogs away from it.
The flying boat crashes into a group of enemies and heroes alike as it lands in a devastating heap.
The giant lands near Orion, who finds himself out of ammo for his large rifle.
Cole runs, grabbing a sword from one of the dead fallen, and leaps and slides towards the giant as it is bringing its massive hands down upon Orion.
Cole slices at its legs as it screams and falls into the water.
Orion tosses his huge rifle down while giving Cole a thumbs up, while pulling his last pistol out from beneath his shirt.
Cole gives a thumbs up back, as the berserk fallen creature rams into him. Cole is thrown across the wooden deck and hits the ground hard, then rolls.
He looks up to see the fallen dog like creature, which looks like a mixture of a man turning into a hairless werewolf with a chain wrapped around its neck, gearing up to attack.
The hairless wolf man takes off towards Cole.
Cole pushes himself up with almost superhuman like strength, then aims the pistol.
The scarred and clawed wolf hands go faster and faster.
Cole squints his eyes and pulls the trigger multiple times.
The wolf man's face explodes, and his feet keep running, as the body then runs into a group of enemies like a kamikaze plane.
Orion fires his pistol, and looks around. Somehow, we are winning.
Suddenly, jarring pain goes through Orion's back as he finds himself flying through the air.
He hits one of the destroyed wooden huts and collapses into it.
Orion slowly pulls himself from the wreckage, bloody and cut and limping.
He sees who kicked him and chuckles.
Goliath slowly makes his way towards him, smiling.
"Goliath."
"Orion," Goliath responds, circling his enemy. His voice is almost human, but has a scarred or decoder like tone coming from his throat. "How are you?"
"Not great," Orion answers, pointing at the port that is on fire.
"It is going to get worse, my human friend," Goliath taunts. "We're taking every piece of food, ammo, gear, woman and child from this island. We're hungry and bored on the isle of hell."
"Not gonna happen," Orion cracks his neck, getting ready for their fight. "Looks like you are one of the last ones left on this round."
Goliath frowns, and clinches his fists and roars at Orion. Blood trickles from his mouth.
"We kept them alive for a long time," Goliath growls. "The sailors on that ship. Oh, they saw hell. And they didn't like it. None of them turned. I thought we'd return you the ship."
Orion yells and runs at Goliath.
A rare warning flashes on his display.
NOT ENOUGH XP TO FIGHT
Orion knows what it means.
Not enough to win this fight against Goliath.
Orion jumps up and slams his fists into Goliath, punch after punch, into his deformed and fleshly core.
His FIGHT XP go up and up.
Goliath takes a step back, then roars again and lunges at Orion. He spins and kicks over and over towards Orion, who, while blocking the massive legs, is getting pushed backward.
The kicks, though blocked, cause enough violent contact to almost break Orion's arms and legs.
Orion then counters.
The two are evenly matched for weight, strength, and tenacity.
Punches are blocked. Knees are kicked out. Heads slammed into heads. Fingers snapped and hips popped.
Back and forth. So much so, the survivors of the port start screaming and cheering for Orion.
Goliath gets the upper hand and does a combo of a kick into a brutal punch into Orion's core, who then is knocked across a small wooden bridge.
He slams into the small bridge as it breaks into pieces, but still manages to stay up, as he is entangled with the wood and rope.
Orion, trapped, looks up to see Goliath slowly making his way towards him. Like a spider towards his dinner stuck in the web.
"Speaking of ship," Goliath starts, "I heard you were in that carrier that finally came up. Big mistake."
"Oh, is it yours?" Orion says, while trying to break out of the wood and ropes he's ensnared in.
"Yup."
"Starting a cruise line from hell?" Orion jokes, finally getting one of his legs free.
"That's funny," Goliath admits. "You and I are the only two in this hemisphere that would get that joke."
"Only the best for you," Orion spits.
Goliath's eyes go primal and his skin seems to rise. Blood starts to flow out of his veins openly, all over his skin and on to the ground.
He salivates.
"You know, I think you'd be a fine meal," Goliath says with foaming mouth. "I'll eat you right in front of your people. Then I'll finish the job with that carrier out there. Something nobody can stop."
Goliath's jaw almost unhinges as he looks to take a bite out of Orion.
Suddenly, Cole tackles the horrible creature into the ground.
Orion, seeing his break, relentlessly kicks and tears from the rope and wreckage and hops up, ready to fight again.
Goliath, embarrassed and angry, also stands up, looking for who knocked him off his feet.
Cole slowly backs up towards Orion, as the two ready to fight fight the creature.
Goliath's eyes turn at the sight of Cole.
"You," Goliath shrills. "What are you doing here?"
Cole does not respond.
Goliath cracks his neck and runs at the two.
Orion jumps first and slams his fist in to the top of Goliath's fleshy crown, as Cole then tries to kick out his feet.
But the fallen warrior, midair, grabs the two and slams them together, while also being struck by the two of them.
All three fall into a heap from the violent collision of their bodies.
Goliath looks at them on the ground, then at the damage and his lack of reinforcements.
"Maybe later," the fallen leader states in a matter of fact tone.
He growls and runs and jumps into the water with a spectacular dive, and the fight is over.
Orion and Cole slowly get up.
"50%," Cole says, gasping for air.
"In what?" Orion asks.
"Everything."
"Not legend."
"No. Not legend."
Orion looks at this own display as all the points are being added up. He also hits 50% across the three.
Legend still sits there, taunting Orion.
"You were definitely a soldier," Orion says.
"I guess so," Cole responds, offering Orion is gun back now.
Orion shakes his head. "It is yours now. You'll need it. Do you remember him?"
"No."
"Well, unfortunately for you, he definitely remembers you," Orion states.
The two then turn towards their destroyed port.
"And we rebuild. Again," Orion says under his breath.
