"HAAAAAH!"
"HYAAAH!"
Inside the indoor gymnasium, the echoing shouts of Mika and Razor intertwined with the whooshing sounds of a dodgeball hurtling through the air.
Engulfed in flames, the dodgeball zipped back and forth between the two competitors.
With each volley exchanged between Mika and Razor, the energy accumulating on the ball intensified, forcing everyone else to retreat to the gymnasium's entrance, ready to dodge at a moment's notice.
"This is insane! These two!" Biscuit exclaimed, observing the escalating intensity of the match.
"I'm certain that if that ball hits the walls or ceiling, this entire gymnasium will collapse!" Mellie declared confidently.
No one present could argue with Mellie's assessment.
They all shared her concerns.
The sheer amount of energy converging on the dodgeball was terrifying to behold, even from a safe distance.
None of them would be able to catch that ball.
"HAAAAAH!"
"HYAAAH!"
Exerting his full strength, fueled by raw power and Nen, Mika relentlessly returned Razor's throws, sending the dodgeball hurtling back with even greater force.
On the other side, Razor, relying on his refined technique and Nen control, skillfully countered Mika's ferocious attacks.
The two of them engaged in a relentless back-and-forth, a clash of brute force against refined skill.
Soon, the gymnasium was empty save for Mika and Razor, locked in their intense volley.
The gale-force winds generated by their powerful throws swept through the gymnasium, scattering everything in their path.
Even the building itself began to tremble precariously.
"You're pretty tough, I'll give you that!" Mika shouted to Razor across the court.
"Hahaha! I haven't had this much fun in ages!" Razor roared with laughter, his movements still fluid and precise.
Mika shared his sentiment.
Even though their shoes had completely disintegrated, and deep grooves had been carved into the floor beneath their feet from the sheer force of their movements, they showed no signs of slowing down.
Their arms were covered in cuts and bruises, testaments to the brutal nature of their dodgeball match.
"Really? Then let's take it up a notch!"
After launching another powerful throw, Mika assumed a fighting stance, fist clenched at his side, gathering his Nen.
"Ha!"
With a sharp exhale, Mika channeled his Nen into his arm.
"Ko!"
This was Mika's full-power attack, enhanced by his immense physical strength. It was his strongest strike in his normal state.
"Here it comes!"
Razor felt a surge of excitement as he saw Mika prepare for his final attack.
After returning the current volley, he mirrored Mika's stance, channeling all of his Nen into his own attack, utilizing the "Ko" technique.
"HYAAAH!"
Mika's fist, glowing with a crimson aura, slammed into the dodgeball, sending it rocketing back at an incredible speed.
BOOM!
The dodgeball, imbued with Mika's immense power, collided with Razor's outstretched hand.
Two colossal forces clashed once more.
But this time, Razor couldn't maintain his earlier momentum.
His arms, straining to lift the ball, were pinned down by the sheer force of the impact. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't budge the ball.
"It's so heavy!"
Razor gritted his teeth, his face contorted in a grimace as he struggled against the immense weight of the dodgeball.
"HYAAAH!"
With a final, desperate surge of strength, Razor managed to lift the ball.
"He actually lifted it!"
A wide grin spread across Mika's face.
He wasn't done playing yet!
Just as Mika prepared to continue their battle, the dodgeball, having endured relentless punishment, finally exploded.
The accumulated Nen erupted outwards, engulfing the entire gymnasium in a powerful shockwave.
BOOM!
The force of the explosion sent Razor flying backwards.
The gymnasium shook violently before collapsing into a pile of rubble.
"Whoa! What just happened?!" Killua shouted in disbelief, having watched the match from outside.
"Who won?!"
"You guys won," Razor replied, emerging from the rubble, clutching his injured arm.
"Even though the dodgeball exploded, I was pushed out of bounds by the blast. So, I lost."
"And I lost fair and square."
Razor looked at Mika and smiled.
"That was the most fun I've had in a long time. Thanks for the match!"
"Likewise. Let's do it again sometime!"
"Definitely!"
Razor nodded at Mika before turning to Gon, who was staring at him with wide-eyed excitement.
"I imagine you have a lot of questions about Ging. Come with me."
Razor turned and walked away, Gon following closely behind.
Watching them disappear, Mika smiled and shook his head.
This match was supposed to be Gon's, but he had somehow hijacked it.
Still, it had been incredibly entertaining.
"I should find someone else to play with next time."
Mika thought of Netero, the Chairman of the Hunter Association.
"If it's him, it would be quite interesting indeed."
A mischievous grin spread across Mika's face.
"What are you smiling about?"
Lost in his thoughts, Mika was suddenly struck in the side by a sharp elbow.
"Oof!"
Snapping back to reality, Mika looked up and saw Gabriel, Mellie, and Airmid standing before him, their expressions less than pleased.
"What's this about? You said you'd give us a chance to have some fun!"
Their voices were laced with annoyance.
"But you hogged all the fun for yourself and even kicked us out! How could you?!"
Gabriel was clearly unhappy about being excluded from the chaotic fun.
She clenched her fists.
"Would it be alright if I beat you up a little to vent my frustration?" she asked with a deceptively sweet smile, as Mika looked on in mock terror.
---
“Ahh, that feels good!”
Lying on the grassy lawn beneath a large tree, Mika basked in the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves.
Airmid, Gabriel, and Mellie lay beside him.
“Hmph! Consider that a warning. If you steal the spotlight from me again, I’ll give you a real beating,” Gabriel grumbled, rolling over to glare playfully at Mika.
“Understood, understood!” Mika replied hastily.
He admitted he had gotten carried away during the dodgeball match and forgotten about Gabriel and the others.
“I finally figured out the rules, too…” Airmid sighed from Mika’s other side.
Mika stiffened, hearing Airmid's lament. His eyes darted around as he searched for a way to change the subject.
“Speaking of which, haven't we been out here for a while? Razor should have finished talking to Gon and Killua by now. It’s time for them to receive their reward!” Mika said, sitting up abruptly.
After the dodgeball game, Mika had spent a considerable amount of time running around Soufrabi, pursued by Airmid, Gabriel, and Mellie.
The four of them had taken the opportunity to explore the coastal city.
There were no hard feelings between them; it had all been in good fun.
However, it had been quite a while since the dodgeball match ended.
“Oh, I completely forgot!” Mellie exclaimed, also sitting up.
“I was planning to use 'Copy C-40' to duplicate 'Plot of Beach' after Gon and Killua got it!”
In Greed Island, there were only two cards with duplication abilities: "Copy C-40" and "Copy D-70".
Naturally, there were differences between them.
"Copy C-40" could duplicate a designated card, while "Copy D-70" would randomly copy one of the opponent's cards.
Their different effects resulted in different applications.
Mellie intended to use "Copy C-40" to obtain the valuable "Plot of Beach" card.
"Let's hurry back. Gon and Killua might be getting impatient," Mika urged.
“Yes, let’s go!” Mellie, eager to complete her card collection, wouldn't miss any opportunity to obtain a new card.
"Fine. Even though I didn't get to play dodgeball, exploring the city was fun," Gabriel said, transforming back into her chibi form and hovering next to Mika.
“But if Gon and Killua were getting impatient, wouldn't they contact us through the binder?” Airmid asked, puzzled.
Mika froze, then grabbed Airmid’s hand and said quickly, “Let’s go, Airmid!”
“Huh? Oh!”
Startled by Mika’s sudden action, Airmid allowed herself to be pulled along, forgetting her question.
…
“Huh? Where are they?”
Arriving near the now-ruined gymnasium, Mika and the others didn’t see Gon, Killua, Biscuit, or Razor.
“Don't tell me they ran off!” Mika joked.
Mellie rolled her eyes at him.
“Over there!”
Unlike the relaxed Mika, Airmid, always vigilant, quickly spotted Gon and the others.
They were in a nearby forest, confronted by three individuals blocking their path.
“Looks like they’re in trouble,” Mika remarked, recognizing the bespectacled man standing before Gon and Killua.
Genthru, the Bomber!
A ruthless killer who had murdered nearly a hundred players in his quest to collect all the cards in Greed Island.
In the original story, Genthru and his two accomplices were the final bosses Gon and Killua faced after completing their training.
“If I remember correctly, Gon lost his hand fighting Genthru and had to use ‘#017 Angel’s Breath’ to heal it,” Mika thought, frowning.
While experiencing danger could accelerate Gon and Killua's growth, unnecessary injuries were undesirable.
Right now, Gon and Killua, especially Gon, needed fundamental training and time to mature.
“Since we’re here, let’s take care of him."
"After all, Gon and Killua are members of the Yahweh Familia now!"
"As their captain, it's my duty to protect and nurture them!"
With that thought, Mika strode towards the forest.
“Let’s go meet these unwelcome guests,” Mika said with a grin, pulling his hands from his pockets and cracking his knuckles.
…
“Genthru! What are you doing here?!”
Having just received "Plot of Beach" from the NPC, Gon and his companions found their path blocked by Genthru, who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
Gon and Killua immediately assumed defensive stances.
They knew Genthru was the Bomber, a dangerous opponent they needed to be wary of.
Otherwise, they might suffer the same fate as the other Nen users who had come to Greed Island seeking fortune and met their demise at Genthru's hands.
He was a murderer who had killed nearly a hundred Nen users.
Just looking at him filled Gon and Killua with tension.
“Why are we here? For ‘Plot of Beach,’ of course!” Genthru replied with a sinister smile, extending his hand expectantly.
“Plot of Beach? How did you know its location?!” Killua asked incredulously, furrowing his brow.
The "Razor and the Fourteen Devils" quest required at least fifteen players to use "Accompany" and arrive at Soufrabi simultaneously to trigger.
Such a condition was impossible for Genthru's small, three-person team to fulfill.
"Heh," Genthru chuckled in response to Killua's question.
"Asta, Amana, Manheim, Nick Cue, Souheil. These people were your companions, weren't they?"
"Check your binders. They're no longer here."
"What?!"
"Book!"
Gon's eyes widened in horror. He immediately summoned his binder and saw that the names of Asta and the others had become dim, indicating that they were either no longer in the game or dead.
There was no way Asta and the others would have left Greed Island simultaneously.
Realization dawned on Gon, and rage surged through him.
He roared Genthru's name in fury.
