Chapter 30: Rating game [01]
Riser eagerly awaited with his Peerage, ready for the competition to begin. Amidst the excitement, Riser decided to initiate a conversation with his Peerage.
Riser, with a bored expression, commented: "I've decided to spice things up; challenged Hisoka to an individual duel during the Rating Game."
Yubelluna, surprised, "He accepted?"
Riser, displaying a playful smile, replied: "Indeed, he accepted without hesitation."
Yubelluna, curious "Do you think he'll honor the agreement?"
Merlin, "Regardless, Riser-sama is stronger."
Riser, agreeing with Merlin's words. "Merlin is correct. Regardless of what Hisoka plans, my absolute power will prevail."
Riser, reflecting on the matter, "I didn't sense any particularly strong magic from him. Even if he doesn't fight alone or tries some trick, the power disparity will be evident. This will be more of a spectacle than a real challenge."
Erza, curious about the rules, inquired: "Riser, how will the fights be divided?"
Riser explained, "Yubelluna will stay close to Shizuku; the rest can face their opponents alone. When finished, you must regroup with each other.
Yubelluna, confident, asserted: "Rest assured, Riser-sama. Shizuku will be safe with me."
Erza, with determination, replied: "Understood, Riser. I will ensure victory in my duel."
Nana, showing a confident smile, added: "And I'll do the same. No one will be able to stop us."
Riser, satisfied with their response, concluded: "We're here to showcase our superiority, not just to win but to impress."
Serafall, announcing. "You have 10 minutes before the start of the Rating Game."
Merlin, addressing Riser. "Riser-sama, may I set up some strategic traps to surprise Hisoka?"
Riser, showing disinterest, replied: "Do as you wish, Merlin. As long as it doesn't hinder my plans."
Merlin, smiling mysteriously, accepted the challenge and left the building to prepare the traps.
While Riser eagerly awaited with his Peerage, the minutes seemed to drag on. Riser, impatient, commented: "These 10 minutes feel like an eternity."
Merlin, maintaining composure, replied: "Patience is a virtue, Riser. We must be prepared for anything."
Nana, looking up at the sky, added: "Waiting is just part of the game. We'll be ready when the time comes."
The 10 minutes finally passed, and Riser exited the building with his Peerage. He addressed the girls with clear instructions: "I'll go straight. Erza, stay on the ground and go in one direction. Nana, fly up to a building. Shizuku, go with Yubelluna to another side. Stay calm and act accordingly."
Erza, demonstrating determination, stated: "Understood, Riser. I'll follow your instructions to the letter."
Nana, taking flight, replied: "I'll be in the skies, observing everything from above."
Shizuku, alongside Yubelluna, agreed: "Let's make sure nothing goes unnoticed."
Riser, satisfied with the organization, added: "Merlin, stay close to the traps and be strategic. We're counting on you."
Merlin, with an enigmatic smile, replied: "Leave it to me, Riser-sama. I'll be ready to surprise our opponent."
Occult Research Club
Issei, visibly upset, questioned: "Buchou, why do we have to watch Riser's Rating Game?"
Rias calmly explained: "It's important for us to know the abilities of other Devils and understand the power difference. Also, soon, I'll have to participate in a Rating Game, so this is an opportunity for us to gain experience and strategic insights."
Akeno, agreeing with Rias, added: "Rias is right, Issei. Observing other Rating Games can provide valuable lessons on strategy and combat."
Issei, still in silence, decided he would take the opportunity to study Riser's abilities more closely, determined to discover any weaknesses that could be exploited in the future. The narrator observes the subtle tension among the members of the Occult Research Club, each with their own motivations and expectations as they prepare to watch Riser's Rating Game.
Rating Game Arena
Erza walked down the street, her confident posture revealing determination in her steps. Her keen eyes captured every detail around, a warrior always ready for the next challenge.
Suddenly, Erza encountered two men. With a confident tone, one of them announced, "I am Hisoka-sama's Knight." The other, following suit, declared, "And I am the Bishop. We are here to defeat you."
Erza, displaying a slightly disappointed expression, sighed and replied, "You are the opponents? I expected a more... substantial challenge."
The men, confident, smiled at the apparent confidence of the warrior. Erza, however, did not hesitate and stated, "Well, it doesn't matter. Let's fight."
The three took a combat stance, and the atmosphere in the street became tense.
Erza, engulfed in flames, displayed her flaming armor, an imposing spectacle before the Knight and Bishop. Heat emanated from her, creating an intense atmosphere.
Erza provocatively said, "Come on, show me what you're capable of."
The Knight, determined, unsheathed his sword and advanced with surprising speed. Blades clashed in a rapid and calculated dance, sparks flying with each strike.
The Bishop, in turn, observed calmly, analyzing every move. His tranquil expression contrasted with the intensity of the confrontation before him.
Erza, skillfully, dodged a strike from the Knight and countered, using the flames to her advantage. The Knight, even managing to avoid direct impact, was enveloped by the heat, retreating to dissipate the burning flames.
Mentally, the Knight complained about the burning sensation caused by Erza's attack. "Curse it, this woman knows how to make things hot."
Before Erza could fully react, the Bishop cast a spell, making the ground shake around her. Erza, off-balance, tried to recover, but the Knight saw the opportunity and advanced with a precise strike.
The Knight's blade cut through the air towards Erza, but before it could hit her, the warrior, with quick reflexes, disappeared in an explosion of flames. When the smoke cleared, Erza reappeared at a safe distance.
Erza, with a more serious expression, analyzed her opponents. "Interesting, you have some tricks up your sleeves. But I still haven't seen anything that makes me break a sweat."
Knight and Bishop in an intense battle. The Bishop, determined, raised two walls of earth, one on each side of Erza, seeking to limit her movements.
The Bishop, with confidence, challenged: "Looks like you're cornered now."
Erza, however, was unfazed and, with a defiant smile, replied: "Let's see how long these walls will hold me."
Taking advantage of the situation, the Bishop tried to crush Erza by making the walls collide. Erza, displaying surprising agility, leaped at the last moment, escaping the imminent collision.
In the air, Erza, swinging her flaming sword, launched a fiery strike towards the Bishop. The Bishop, quick, raised an earth wall in front of him for protection.
The wall, however, was no match for Erza's fiery attack, which broke it into pieces. The strike hit the Bishop squarely, leaving him unconscious on the ground.
Serafall announced with her imposing voice: "Bishop of Hisoka is out."
Erza, with a confident smile, taunted the Knight: "Now it's just you."
The Knight, furious, exclaimed: "You will pay for what you've done."
Erza, provocatively, replied: "Then come, make me pay, coward."
Erza, with her challenging gaze, watched the enraged Knight approaching. "You will pay for what you did," he shouted, his voice filled with anger.
The Knight, in response to the taunt, saw a green aura envelop his body, drastically increasing his speed. He advanced towards Erza with renewed determination.
Erza, however, remained calm. Even with the Knight's enhanced speed, she watched him approach as if in slow motion. Her analytical eyes captured every movement, every intention of the opponent.
The clash of swords began, and the metallic sound echoed through the streets of the arena. Erza, skilled and precise, exchanged blows with the Knight, blocking and counterattacking with grace and efficiency.
The fight intensified, the fast and calculated movements filled the arena with electrifying energy. Erza and the Knight were immersed in their blade dance, each seeking an opening in the other's style.
After minutes of exchanging blows, Erza, with a skillful move, managed to disarm the Knight. His sword flew away, and Erza, with her flaming sword, placed it at the Knight's throat.
"Give up or would you prefer to die?" Erza asked, her firm voice echoing in the arena.
The defeated Knight sighed and finally admitted defeat. "I surrender."
Serafall announced with her imposing voice: "Knight of Hisoka out of the fight."
Erza, displaying a confident smile, stepped away from the defeated Knight, her victory in that confrontation was undeniable.
