DxD: Infernal Destroyer

DxD 0074: Sin of Wrath

“Abaddon!” The girls screamed as they saw Abaddon’s armored figure getting engulfed by the blast of Destruction energy. Rias was the only one who could support him since she also had Destruction energy, but before she had the chance to do anything, she saw his visage appear within the maelstrom of Destruction energy as it parted away from him. Not even touching the barrier that she and Akeno were maintaining. He was like a pillar that forced the crimson of the Destruction energy to part away, making sure that it would not affect anyone within the barrier behind him.

A few seconds later, Abaddon’s unscratched form appeared as he released an audible relieved breath, “That almost got a bit out of control…” He said.

Rias couldn’t help but smile as she saw his unhurt form. Though the damage that his explosion had caused made her scoff at his words, “Almost?!”

“Fufu~ A-kun, the area that was behind you is the only part of the terrain that survived in a radius of a mile all around.” Akeno pointed out, “Even though you cast the attack high up in the air, it still created such a big crater…”

“I kinda transferred a bit too much power into it…” He chuckled sheepishly as he looked around for Kokabiel. As big as the explosion was, it wasn’t enough to finish someone of Kokabiel’s caliber.

Abaddon looked at the edge of the crater as some of the rubble moved and coughs were heard, “Damn kid, you pack a mean punch…” Kokabiel came out of the rubble covered in cuts and bruises but was relatively unharmed. Abaddon was going to wait for the guy to speak since he wanted to stack up some more boosts.

“If God was still alive, he would probably be scheming to finish you off… It’s good for you that he’s dead, no?” Kokabiel chuckled as he looked at Abaddon’s dark and annoyed expression, “Oh, sorry. I wasn’t supposed to say that, was I?”

“No, you weren’t…” Abaddon sighed with an annoyed expression as he heard someone say from behind him.

“W-What are you saying?” It was Xenovia who couldn’t believe those words.

“You’re lying…” Irina didn’t believe him either.

Asia didn’t say anything and looked in Kokabiel’s direction with a whimper.

“On the contrary little girl. What I’m saying is perfectly true. In the previous war between the three factions of Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels, most of the leaders of all factions died. The devils lost their four Satans and the Fallen lost many of the cadres. The Angels, on the other hand, had it the worst. They lost their sole leader and creator. That is why there are no more angels being created now. They don’t actually have the ability anymore…” Kokabiel laughed madly as he saw the expressions of increasing despair on the church trio’s faces.

“Abaddon, tell me, is this true?” Rias looked at him for confirmation. He seemed to have already known about this information.

“Yeah. He’s dead. He was injured by a last-ditch attack from Lucifer and Asmodeus and wasted away in Heaven. I presume that he spent his final years perfecting the automated system that Micheal maintains to take care of the Sacred Gears and prayers to God.” Abaddon’s words hit Asia even worse as she held her hands to her chest and fell to her knees while mumbling in denial. A few seconds later, she collapsed unconscious.

“No! You’re lying!” Irina lashed out at Abaddon.

“Believe what you want, cute twin-tailed girl.” Abaddon didn’t remember Irina’s name, “I was trying to get him to keep quiet, but since it’s out I might as well tell the full truth.” Abaddon shrugged. Not minding her outburst. Irina used her sword as support to sit down on the ground as she kept mumbling to herself in denial.

“No… No… God can’t be dead.” Xenovia was also in denial as she shook, dropping her sword and hugging herself.

Abaddon decided to ignore the overreacting devout church girls after seeing that Asia was being taken care of by Koneko who had already healed.

“Let’s just get this over with…” Abaddon said softly as he turned back to Kokabiel who had an amused expression on his face.

«TRANSFER»

He transferred 6 stacked boosts to his speed and instantly appeared in front of Kokabiel who barely reacted with a light shield in front of him. Abaddon’s fist which was covered with Destruction energy landed on the shield and left multiple cracks on it. At the same time, Abaddon leveraged his speed and appeared behind Kokabiel attacking again.

Meanwhile, he’s already created whips of destruction energy that were attacking the Fallen Angel.

After two more boosts, Abaddon’s speed was solidly greater than Kokabiel’s, and the only reason that the older Fallen managed till now was his superior fighting experience.

“You’re a good match, Bael. With something like the Boosted Gear, I’m sure that you’ll flourish to unprecedented heights.” Kokabiel seemingly gave up and didn’t defend from Abaddon’s next attack. He wasn’t one to miss such an opportunity and stabbed a destruction spear into Kokabiel’s side.

However, instead of the expected result, what appeared was a huge glow of light that made Abaddon realize that it was a trap that Kokabiel was setting for him, ‘Tsk, I should’ve stepped back…’ He thought. He still didn’t have enough battle experience to see through Kokabiel’s move within the split second that he had. He would’ve figured it out, of course, but doing it in a timely manner is what makes the difference between an experienced fighter and an inexperienced fighter.

Abaddon didn’t waste any time before flapping his wings back and getting away from the explosion but it was already too late. Kokabiel’s attack had already reached him before he could get away. Abaddon could only barely create a shield of Destruction energy in front of him.

As he watched cracks develop on the shield he had an idea, ‘Why not…’

«TRANSFER»

It was a huge waste of the stacked 8 boosts to use them on a shield, but Abaddon didn’t have enough control over the gear to manipulate how much of the boost was transferred. Unlike when he transfers it to an aspect of himself like his strength or speed, transferring it to an energy construct makes it impossible to transfer the boost to another construct.

As the light died down, Kokabiel’s figure was revealed as he huffed with a gash on his side. It was seen that his ambush wasn’t without cost. Though Abaddon’s figure also appeared and he was in a relatively unharmed state as he was covered by a thick barrier.

“How in the fuck…?” Kokabiel couldn’t comprehend how Abaddon was able to cast such a large shield on such short notice, “No wait, you transferred the boost from the gear…” He realized as he ignored his wounds and quickly approached Abaddon with two large light spears in his hands.

“Honestly, man. Why aren’t you tired yet?” Abaddon commented nonchalantly as he let Kokabiel hit his shield. It had more than enough juice to hold him off till his boosts recharged.

“Without drive, nothing in the world is possible. And once you have the drive, you can do anything you want.” Kokabiel said some random old people words of wisdom that made Abaddon scoff, “Right…”

“If your shield is going to take so much work, I might as well target your friends.” Kokabiel changed tactics quickly as he abandoned attacking the shield and approached Rias and the rest who were observing the fight.

“Fucking underhanded Fallen Angel… Aren’t I the Devil here…” Abaddon mumbled annoyedly as he removed the shield and quickly approached Kokabiel with merely 4 stacked boosts.

“Devil or not. As long as you have a weakness, I will exploit it!” Kokabiel laughed gleefully as he abruptly turned and hurled tens of spears of light toward him.

Abaddon quickly summoned his Destruction whips and countered the approaching spears with them as he quickly reached Kokabiel with his gauntlets covered with concentrated Destruction energy.

Kokabiel summoned two more light spears and countered Abaddon’s attacks with them. He decided to incorporate his tail back into the mix after not having used it since the start. He still wasn’t proficient, but every distraction mattered in this fight.

“How is your mother, young Abaddon?” Kokabiel’s words caught Abaddon off guard as the Fallen was able to knick his armor with his holy spear, drawing some blood. Abaddon quickly destroyed the Holy energy infesting the wound before healing himself with Aether.

“What?” His voice lost its lazy and nonchalant tone that made others think that he wasn’t taking things seriously. He approached Kokabiel again and continued his barrage of attacks. Though it was slightly more reckless than before.

“I remember hearing about her state. She went into a coma after being infected by the Malaise, right?” Kokabiel’s taunting tone had an undertone of gleefulness as he was happy seeing Abaddon losing his composure.

Hearing each of Kokabiel’s words, dark energy started being involuntarily released from Abaddon’s body. It was as if he was specifically releasing the black parts of the crimson-black Destruction energy, “You know, Kokabiel…” Abaddon’s voice took a diabolic turn as he infused it with this darker Destruction energy, “I don’t think I’m leaving you alive anymore…” His usually violet eyes took a dark shean as they turned pitch black and his entire armor changed from red with streaks of black to pure black with hints of red appearing from time to time like a glow that was trying to escape the prison of black.

“Fuck Azazel and his request of keeping you alive… You’re dying today” He said with fury dripping from each word and slashed at Kokabiel with the new pitch-black gauntlet that was radiating an aura of pure black destruction energy.

Kokabiel was still nonchalant about Abaddon’s change as he was confident in his strength, but contrary to what he expected, Abaddon’s punch broke through the spear and landed square on his face.

“Ahh!” Kokabiel screamed in pain as he felt his face burning from the destructive effects of Abaddon’s black destruction energy. Abaddon didn’t relent as he kept attacking Kokabiel even as he heard the fifth boost sound out.

«BOOST»

Abaddon ignored it and focused on getting more hits on Kokabiel who was suddenly on the back foot and couldn’t keep up with Abaddon anymore. He tried his best to resist, he even tried to explode with his holy energy as Abaddon hit him, but it was useless. Whatever energy Kokabiel released was destroyed just as it escaped his body.

It took only about 10 seconds before Abaddon completely broke through Kokabiel’s defenses and started hitting him directly. And with each hit, more of Kokabiel’s body started disappearing.

With a hit on his chest, Kokabiel’s ribcage was revealed, with a punch to his arm, the joint was destroyed and the arm fell to the ground. Before Kokabiel could even plead for mercy, Abaddon punched his face and made his jaw and tongue disappear into nothingness.

When he was finally done, Abaddon was left huffing as he rested one of his feet on top of Kokabiel’s skull which was devoid of any skin. The rest of his body had already been destroyed to the point where nothing was left.
