DxD 0048: Meeting Asia
As Abaddon returned from the mini date with Koneko in the cat cafe, he lamented Koneko’s trust issues. It would take a lot of time before Abaddon would be able to actually get close to the girl and let her trust him.
“Well… I got all the time in the world… Even average low-class devils can live for thousands of years…” Abaddon thought out loud.
‹Surprising…›
Draig, who usually just spent his time sleeping commented.
“What is it?”
‹You must be my first host with such… carefreeness. You have such power, but you don’t feel the need to fight all the time. It’s both boring and something that makes me envious…›
“Well… What good is power if you don’t have something to care about? Now if I had an enemy who would have the power to give me a run for my money… Now that would be something.” Abaddon said.
‹You’ll most likely run into the inheritor of Divine Dividing. We all eventually do… He should be a nice challenge if he’s had the time to develop.›
“Eh, we’ll see how things—“
“Finally lost your marbles, eh cousin?” He heard Rias’ casual voice.
“I’m talking with my dragon—“ He heard a growl in his head that sent a shiver down his spine and changed his word choice, “—Friend. What is it?” He asked Rias after correcting himself.
“I was just taking a walk when I saw you mumbling to yourself like a deranged man.” She teased.
Abaddon rolled his eyes, “No fucking respect…” He said as he walked up to her.
Rias chuckled lightly in response. She knew exactly how much respect Abaddon commanded from the devil society, “What can I say? You’ve changed. There was a time when I would’ve flinched if I said something with a slightly wrong tone to you.” She mentioned.
“A guy stops being such a hard ass all the time and look where that gets him. Mocked by his peers.” He exaggeratedly lamented.
“Yeah, yeah. Everyone’s mocking you…” She rolled her eyes, “Did you talk to Koneko?” She asked him.
“Yeah, we went to a nice cat cafe where I was ambushed by the cuteness of the cats, but it was a nice experience nonetheless.” He said with a shrug as he stood close to her.
“Oh? She’s not mad at you anymore?” Rias said, ignoring Abaddon’s action of bringing his hand to her hair and playing with it.
“Nah, she’s fine. Keeps calling me a pervert though… I’d prefer lustful but whatever.” He mumbled while playing with Rias’ luscious red hair.
“You gonna stop playing with my hair anytime?” She asked with a smile.
“But it’s so shiny, luscious, and red… Fuck, your hair is so red…” He said with fascination.
“It is shiny and luscious,” Rias said with a proud nod. Who wouldn’t like being complimented about their hair?
“Were you there since the start?” Rias asked, referring to the incident of the previous day.
“You already know the answer,” Ne said, his fingers still twirling around her hair and scalp. “I want to hear from you.” She said flatly.
“Yes, I was there since the start and saw you all getting beat up horribly by their superior numbers. I’m proud of every single member of your peerage along with Aika. They all did everything splendidly and went above and beyond.” He praised.
“Not me?” She asked with a cute pout.
“Of course not you. You were the reason they were in that situation. Your obstinate stubbornness was the root cause of the situation in the first place.” He was merciless, though he was still playing with her hair.
“Why are you so mean?” She said angrily as she turned her face away. Abaddon held her chin with his other hand and made her look back at him, “Being angry at me is fine. I ditched you after agreeing to sleep with you. You had all the right to be mad at me. But you put your peerage in danger because of that anger. You can be as angry as you want. You can throw Destruction blasts at me. But don’t do something that you would regret later on.” He gently explained to her.
“Yeah…” Rias looked down like a reprimanded child, “Come here,” He said as he pulled her in for a comforting hug. Rias practically melted into the hug as she leaned her body on him while burying her face in the crook of his neck.
“You mean a lot to me, and so does Akeno, and Koneko. You aren’t just responsible for your own life, but theirs too…” He said in a gentle tone.
“What about Kiba?” She asked him with a muffled voice.
“That would be gay, Rias. And I’m sure you can tell that I’m anything but gay.” He said in the same gentle yet serious tone. Rias’ light giggle made her warm breaths tickle his neck.
“How’s your new Bishop?” Abaddon asked her about Asia.
“She’s such an amazing girl. Come on, I’ll introduce you guys.” Rias said with elation as she reluctantly pulled away from his hug and pulled him with her, “By the way, you’re not allowed to seduce her. She’s a darling and doesn’t need your grubby paws on her.” Rias warned him.
“Now I’ll definitely seduce her,” Abaddon said sarcastically as he wasn’t really planning to either. At least not before talking to her. His mind might change later though.
Once they reached the door of the Occult Research Clubroom, Rias turned to him and pointed her finger at his face, “No. Funny. Business.” She said, enunciating each word.
Abaddon’s response came in the form of him opening his mouth and sucking her finger while looking dead into her eyes. First, Rias froze before panicking and saying, “Let go…” Her words didn’t have any intent behind them as she didn’t even try to pull her finger away. With her blush ever-increasing Rias tried to get him to stop as he teased her finger with his tongue, making her feel weird sensations.
When he finally did let go, Rias was completely quiet as she looked at him in a daze, not knowing what to say, “I’ll seduce her if I want and you can’t stop me.” He said with a teasing smile on his face.
Rias recovered after a few seconds and harrumphed before opening the door and walking in.
As Abaddon followed in he saw Asia and Akeno sitting face-to-face. Akeno was giggling vivaciously as Asia blushed, “Stop teasing her, Akeno. Did you brief her about everything?” She asked.
“Yeah. I did, she’s just so innocent that I can’t help but tease her.” Akeno giggled cutely as she turned to Abaddon, “A-kun. How are you?” Akeno asked. Hearing her words, Asia got up from the couch and turned to look at Abaddon, “Greetings Abaddon-san.” She bodied politely in greeting, “I didn’t thank you for helping me yesterday. Thank you for helping us.” She said quickly before going quiet.
Abaddon chuckled at her nervousness and said, “You don’t need to thank me, Asia. It wasn’t a big deal.” Abaddon nodded and walked up to Akeno before sitting beside her.
“Come on.” He patted his lap as he sat a bit away from her. Akeno promptly lay on the couch and put her head on his lap as she looked up at him, “Hi, A-kun…” She said smilingly.
“Hi, Akeno. How are you doing…” He asked with a hint of concern as he combed his fingers through her hair. “Well… considering the horrible beatdown I got yesterday, I think I’m doing pretty well…” Akeno said with an undertone of anger.
“Of course you are. Who do you think helped you recover?” He said proudly. “Well… You are also the reason I was in such a horrible state in the first place. You could’ve just helped us.” She said flatly.
“Where’s the fun in that?” He said.
“Abaddon, we’re going to the familiar forest next week to get a familiar for Asia. Do you want to come?” Rias didn’t like that Akeno was hogging all his attention and sat beside Abaddon.
“I’m getting a familiar?” This was news to Asia.
“Yes. The caretakers aren’t usually available and this is the only time slot that’s free in the next couple of months.” Rias explained to Asia.
“Um… What is a familiar?” She asked with some embarrassment.
“I guess Akeno didn’t tell you,” Rias glanced at Akeno who seemed to be in her own world as she enjoyed the comfort of having her head massaged by Abaddon as she rested using his lap as a pillow.
“You can think of a familiar as a pet that’s bonded to you for life. It’s much more than just a pet though as its life is completely bound to you.” Rias concisely explained.
“Oh…” Asia didn’t fully understand it but she was excited nonetheless, “I’m looking forward to it…” She smiled gently.
“You’re such a gentle soul, Asia…” Abaddon said with a smile as he turned to Rias, “Did you already book the trip?”
“No, I haven’t yet. But I was planning to talk to them just after telling Asia about it.” Rias said.
“Nice, I remember Sona telling me that she’s going to bring her new pawn to get a familiar too. So you should coordinate with her and bring her too.” Abaddon suggested.
“Hell no,” Rias stated with a tone of finality that surprised Abaddon, “I’m not letting Sona get anywhere close to any sort of information about my peerage. At least more than what she already knows. She’ll make tactics to counter whatever I bring. I have to have some surprises.” Rias explained.
“Woah. You're concerned with strategy and such…” Abaddon said with an expression of surprise making Rias want to punch him.
