Chapter 49: Chapter 47: The Awakening of Broly
Broly's eyes snapped open, his body jolting upright with a sudden surge of adrenaline. The last thing he remembered was the sight of his father, Paragus, lifeless on the ground, and the sheer rage that had consumed him. The room he now found himself in was unfamiliar, filled with a metallic hum and the cold, sterile scent of Frieza's ship. Training equipment lined the walls, and various compartments held glowing vials and combat gear.
He wasn't alone.
All around him, Frieza's clones paused mid-motion, their eyes locking onto Broly with a collective, unnatural focus. The silence was shattered when one of them smirked and lunged, signaling the others to follow. They moved in unison, their attacks precise and unrelenting. Broly, still disoriented and fueled by anger, roared as he charged forward to meet them.
The clones swarmed him, fists flying and energy blasts crackling. Broly's massive arms swung wildly, knocking several clones back, but more replaced them, their ki attacks weaving through the air like serpents. Each blow from the clones was precise, attacking pressure points and using techniques that forced Broly onto the defensive.
They were jumping him!
....
Some seconds later...
Broly now knelt in the center of the chamber, his breath labored and ragged. His head hung low, sweat mixing with blood that trickled down his face. The metal floor was cracked and scorched from the brief but fierce battle. Standing before him, a Frieza clone tapped his foot against the ground, watching Broly with a cold, analytical expression.
"You still lack control, monkey," the clone stated, its voice as sharp and cold as the emperor himself. "You have raw power, but without focus, you're just a rampaging beast."
Broly's fists clenched, his eyes burning with fury as he remembered the image of Paragus dying before him. His muscles tensed as he prepared to leap at the clone, but a familiar voice echoed from the entrance of the chamber.
"Broly, stop!"
The voice cut through the chaos like a blade, and Broly's head snapped toward its source. Standing in the doorway, alive and well, was Paragus. His face was stern as ever, but his eyes held a softness that spoke of relief and something deeper. Broly's rage faltered, replaced by confusion and a sudden rush of emotions. He rose shakily, his eyes locked onto his father's.
"Father…?" Broly's voice was low, almost disbelieving.
Paragus stepped forward, nodding. "Yes, boy. I'm here. It's… complicated, but I'm here."
The Frieza clone strode forward, arms crossed and a satisfied grin playing at the edges of his lips. "Oh, don't look so surprised, Broly," Frieza said casually. "I simply revived him with the dragon balls. I had to kill him to push you to your limits, to see if you would reach the potential I needed."
The room fell silent as the words hung in the air. Broly's jaw clenched, his eyes narrowing in a mix of rage and conflicted emotions. He wanted to attack, to strike Frieza down for his cruelty, but Paragus placed a hand on his son's arm, grounding him.
"It's true, Broly," Paragus said, a hint of hesitation in his voice. "This was all part of Frieza's scheme. But now we must focus on what comes next."
Frieza's smile widened. "Smart man," he said, nodding approvingly at Paragus. "Now, Broly, if you wish to truly master your power, you'll need discipline. And for that, I've assigned you a guide, someone who can help you acclimate to life in my empire."
At that moment, a slender figure stepped into the chamber, green-skinned with sharp eyes and a confident smirk. "Name's Cheelai," she said, giving Broly a once-over. "Looks like I've got my work cut out for me, huh?"
Broly's eyes flicked to Cheelai, the sharpness in his gaze softening slightly as he took in her bold yet playful demeanor. Cheelai met his stare with a raised eyebrow, unfazed by his intimidating presence.
"Don't worry," she said, folding her arms with a grin. "I'm pretty good at handling big guys like you."
{A/N: Stop thinking dirty you monkeys.}
Paragus frowned, but Frieza dismissed the look with a wave of his hand. "Cheelai will help you learn the ways of the empire, Broly," he said. "And as for you, Paragus, you'll need to get back into fighting shape. I didn't just bring you back; I made sure you were restored to your prime."
Paragus glanced at his reflection in one of the polished surfaces, noticing for the first time the subtle differences. His body was stronger, more agile, the frailty of age replaced with youthful vigor. His fingers flexed, testing the newfound strength.
A sudden sound cut through the room as the heavy doors slid open. A tall, imposing figure with a jagged scar across his cheek entered, flanked by a group of elite soldiers. It was General Zokar, one of Frieza's most trusted and ruthless commanders.
"Lord Frieza," Zokar said, bowing his head. His eyes shifted to Paragus. "We have arrangements to make for your training. You'll come with me."
Paragus's eyes narrowed, and he looked to Frieza, who offered a nonchalant shrug. "It's time you learn to be more than just a Saiyan strategist, Paragus. The galaxy's a much harsher place now, and I can't have weak links in my empire."
Broly's fists tightened, a low growl rumbling in his throat. Cheelai, sensing his rising tension, stepped closer and placed a hand on his arm. "Hey, easy there," she said, her voice softer. "He'll be fine. You need to focus on yourself first."
Reluctantly, Broly's muscles relaxed, though his eyes followed Paragus as the older Saiyan was led away by Zokar and his squad. Frieza watched the scene with a knowing smirk, satisfied that the pieces were falling into place.
"Now then," Frieza said, his eyes shifting to Broly and Cheelai. "Your training begins immediately. Don't disappoint me."
Cheelai rolled her eyes subtly but managed a mock salute. "Yes, sir," she muttered under her breath, earning a barely-there smirk from Broly.
As Paragus disappeared from sight, Cheelai looked up at Broly, a flicker of determination in her eyes. "Alright, big guy," she said. "Let's get to work."
