Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Departure - Hunting Soul Forest_1
"Creak!"
Ye Feng, cradling his injured head, pushed open the door to the dormitory.
"Tang San."
Ye Feng came to the twin bed that he himself had painstakingly pieced together, where Tang San and Xiaowu were sitting.
For some reason, the dormitory suddenly fell silent at that moment.
"Ye Feng, do you still refuse to accept this?"
Xiaowu, thinking Ye Feng had come back to fight her again, instantly became alert!
If he wanted another fight, she would definitely oblige.
"No, I have something to say to Tang San."
Ye Feng's eyes turned towards Tang San.
Although the master had injured him, who could blame him for being a minor character? There were just some things he couldn't, and didn't dare, bring to an end!
Since he had just now agreed to deliver a message to Tang San, he would do it right now.
"If you're here about the bed, then forget it. This bed can't fit three people, and besides, you just lost."
Tang San spoke coldly to Ye Feng.
Even though they were from the same town, he had no intention of getting involved in so many petty matters. The Mystic Sky Records say, do not meddle in things that aren't your own, lest trouble comes knocking at your door.
"It's not about that, the master told you to meet him tomorrow morning in the yellow carriage at the school gate. He will take you to find your first soul ring," said Ye Feng.
He had done his duty.
"What? The master is going to take Tang San to find a soul ring?"
Wang Sheng and the others were visibly shocked.
That was too good!
They had been at Nuoding Primary Academy for so many years, yet still hadn't found their first soul ring.
Envious!
They were truly envious!
"Ye Feng, where are you going?"
Having said that, Ye Feng turned and left.
After all, there was no place for him in this dormitory; staying would just make him a laughingstock.
Yet at that moment, Tang San unexpectedly felt a pang of guilt.
It turned out the message was for him.
If he hadn't guessed wrong, the other party must have sought the teacher, likely to plead for tutelage once more.
Clearly, the bump on the other party's head confirmed that the teacher probably hadn't accepted him and had even asked him to convey a message.
Normally, if one hadn't achieved their goal and even suffered physical harm, they wouldn't deliver the message, but he did.
Just now, he had indeed been prejudiced, suspecting Ye Feng came for the bed.
But where was he going now?
"To where I belong," Ye Feng answered.
Then he left the dormitory.
The campus was lively at night.
But none of that liveliness had anything to do with him.
Now his task was to ensure he wouldn't freeze to death. If he as a transmigrated soul were to die of cold just like this body was destined to, that would be a cruel irony.
But returning to the dormitory was definitely impossible.
Go to the rooftop?
That would be even colder!
The station at the gate? The yellow carriage?
Suddenly, a spark of inspiration flashed through Ye Feng's mind.
Right, why couldn't he just hide in the carriage?
He also wanted to go to the forest.
If he had the System, maybe it would even activate!
With this thought, Ye Feng made his way to the station at the school gate, where a yellow carriage was just standing.
The sky had just darkened, and whoever was in charge was probably out for dinner.
With time and opportunity on his side, Ye Feng climbed right in.
The carriage was large and luxurious, with a sitting area in the front and a small storage room at the back.
And it was very warm.
Moreover, Ye Feng found that there was food!!
He hadn't had dinner that evening and was starving!
The food was nothing short of a lifesaver.
Without further ado, Ye Feng began to eat.
After he finished, he slept contentedly.
He didn't know how much time had passed when he felt the carriage stirring.
It was moving, swaying on its way.
"As a teacher, I give you this gift upon our meeting,"
...
"Thank you, Teacher, then I will call it 'Twenty-Four Moonlight Bridges'."
The vehicle moved on.
Ye Feng faintly heard some conversation.
"Thump!"
Suddenly, there was a strange noise from inside the wagon.
"Who's there? Stop the wagon!!"
In an instant, Yu Xiaogang had the wagon stopped.
"What's the matter, Teacher?"
The bewildered coachman asked.
It was utterly baffling.
What on earth had happened that would warrant stopping the wagon so abruptly?
"Is there anyone else in this wagon?"
The master asked.
"No, there isn't. It's just you two in the wagon, and there are some supplies that I prepared in the storage box at the back as per your instructions, Teacher. There's nothing else."
The coachman answered.
"I just heard something fall over inside the wagon,"
Yu Xiaogang said.
"That can't be. Where would the noise be coming from? Maybe something in the storage box fell over when we went over the steep road a moment ago,"
said the coachman.
"Something's not quite right in this wagon, there must be someone hiding in the back."
It was at this moment Tang San spoke up.
After all, he was a reborn person. The wagon was divided into two sections, with the front section being larger and similar to the sitting area of a normal wagon, and they were backed against a wooden wall.
Behind the wooden wall was the storage box.
That box could only be opened from the very back of the wagon.
He had felt that something was off earlier.
It seemed as if there was someone, or some animal, inside.
But he thought it was something the teacher had prepared, so he did not say anything.
"Ah? Someone? That's impossible, right?"
The coachman's face showed disbelief, and he even felt it was somewhat ridiculous.
"Open it and see for yourself,"
Yu Xiaogang instructed.
So under Yu Xiaogang's direction, the coachman reluctantly opened the rear door of the wagon's storage.
However, the moment he did, he was completely dumbfounded by the scene before him!
There was actually a kid inside, and many of the foods had been opened and eaten up by him!
"You! You! Who are you!!"
The coachman was frantic!
He was certain he had locked the door, so how could there be someone inside?
"Ye Feng?"
Both the master and Tang San looked at him with a peculiar gaze.
Especially the master, whose gaze was filled with icy chill and could even be described as holding back rage!
"Hehe."
Ye Feng awkwardly waved his hand.
He hadn't expected to wake up to find they had traveled so far, but at least he had a full meal the previous night, which seemed like the first time since he had arrived that he ate to his fill.
"How are you here!"
The master looked frosty as he stared intently at Ye Feng.
"There was nowhere to sleep last night, so I slept here,"
Ye Feng replied.
"Nonsense! Also, do you realize that leaving the school without permission could get you expelled?"
The master's tone grew even colder!
To cause trouble was one thing, but now he was hiding in the wagon eating the provisions he had prepared, having consumed half of them!
As for not having a place to sleep?
Would Yu Xiaogang believe that?
He had provided a double-sized blanket and two pillows the previous night specifically for Ye Feng and Tang San to sleep together.
How could it be possible that there was nowhere to sleep?!
It was clear that Ye Feng wanted to accompany him to the Hunting Soul Forest and had staged this deliberately!
Utterly lawless!
When they returned to the school, he would surely report this and have Ye Feng expelled!
...
