Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Qian Daoliu's Perspective
After stepping through the grand gates of the Douluo Hall, Bibi Dong's gaze immediately fell upon the six-winged Angel God statue standing in the center of the hall, as well as the blond middle-aged man beneath it.
Since she had accepted the Rakshasa God's trial, her sensitivity to the Angel God's aura had heightened. Astonishingly, the Angel God statue before her contained the divine power of the Angel God!
"Qian Daoliu, no wonder you've always acted with such confidence. It turns out you can tap into the Angel God's divine power. I truly underestimated you," Bibi Dong thought to herself, retracting her gaze.
"Bibi Dong, ever since you became the Pope of the Spirit Hall, you haven't set foot in my Douluo Hall. If you dislike this place so much, why force yourself to come?"
As soon as Bibi Dong entered, Qian Daoliu took a step forward. In a flash of golden light, he stood before her.
"It's been a while, Grand Priest," Bibi Dong said calmly, meeting his gaze. "I came here today to remind you that Tang Hao, the one who gravely injured your son and later fled, now has a child."
Upon hearing this, Qian Daoliu paused briefly before recalling something. He responded indifferently, "I remember that when Tang Hao escaped, he did indeed have a child. So? You've come all this way just to tell me this?"
Qian Daoliu gave Bibi Dong a puzzled look, unable to discern her true intentions.
"Heh, Grand Priest, take a look at this," Bibi Dong said, waving her hand. A dossier detailing the Tang family's background fell into Qian Daoliu's hands. It was a collection of valuable information gathered by Chrysanthemum Douluo Yue Guan.
Qian Daoliu carefully examined the dossier. When his eyes landed on the note at the bottom, which mentioned a possible twin martial soul with an unawakened Blue Silver Grass bloodline, his expression, usually as calm as still water, grew more serious.
"Tang San. Martial spirit: Blue Silver Grass. Innate full spirit power. His father's name is Tang Hao. They settled in Holy Spirit Village six years ago. A potential twin martial soul wielder... What, do you plan to eliminate a six-year-old child?" Qian Daoliu chuckled softly.
"Grand Priest, you and I seem to be thinking along the same lines," Bibi Dong's eyes gleamed as she replied coldly, "I cannot allow a twin martial soul genius with a blood feud against the Spirit Hall to grow. With Tang Hao's temperament, once his son rises, he'll surely try to topple the Spirit Hall. When that time comes, even you might find it troublesome, wouldn't you agree?"
"So, is this the reason you came to Douluo Hall today? To inform me of this?" Qian Daoliu turned his back on her and gazed up at the Angel God statue, his voice calm. "If you want to eliminate him, why bother telling me? What's the matter, has the Pope Hall become incapable of handling a six-year-old child?"
"Or are you afraid of Tang Hao and can't figure out a solution, so you've come seeking my help?"
"The Grand Priest truly has the world on his mind," Bibi Dong sneered. "I hold no personal grudge against Tang Hao. I came here purely out of goodwill to remind you. Since you're not concerned, I'll be on my way."
After speaking, Bibi Dong turned and began walking out of the hall.
Since this old fox, Qian Daoliu, wasn't in a hurry to kill Tang San, there was no need for her to rush either. After all, once she completed the Rakshasa God's trial, who on the Douluo Continent could stand in her way? Qian Daoliu? Tang Hao? Or the child who might die unexpectedly before he ever posed a threat?
Bibi Dong was supremely confident in her ascension to godhood. She didn't believe that a six-year-old could overthrow the Spirit Hall before she completed her trial.
"Bibi Dong, you're right. You and Tang Hao have no direct enmity, but in a way, you should be thanking him," Qian Daoliu's voice suddenly rang out as Bibi Dong was about to step out of the hall. His words were icy cold.
"Thank you for the reminder, Grand Priest," Bibi Dong paused briefly, half-turning to reveal her delicate profile, her tone dripping with mockery. "After all, it wasn't my son who died, was it?"
With these words, Bibi Dong flashed a chilling smile and left without looking back.
"Big brother, that woman is too arrogant!" Golden Crocodile Douluo, who had witnessed the exchange, shouted angrily.
"Let her be, second brother," Qian Daoliu replied indifferently, watching his companion's anger. "She's merely showing off with words. It's nothing to be concerned about."
Golden Crocodile Douluo sighed and fell silent.
Qian Daoliu, of course, understood Bibi Dong's parting remark all too well.
Years ago, Tang Hao merely severely injured Qian Xunji. It was Bibi Dong who had actually killed him. If not for the fact that she was Qian Renxue's mother, she would have already perished beneath his Angelic Holy Sword.
Without her connection to Qian Renxue, what use was Bibi Dong's talent? Lead the Spirit Hall to greater heights? Don't be ridiculous. If the Qian family had no legitimate heir, what need was there for the Spirit Hall? It was only because of Qian Renxue that Qian Daoliu tolerated Bibi Dong's actions. Ultimately, everything she did was merely to prepare the way for Qian Renxue.
As for the Tang father and son? What was Tang San, a twin martial soul wielder, to Qian Daoliu? If he wished, he could easily crush them like ants. Why would a giant be concerned with such insignificant insects? However, today's conversation with Bibi Dong had stirred a sense of threat within him.
As a servant of the Angel God, Qian Daoliu clearly sensed an evil aura from Bibi Dong—a power opposed to the Angel God. It was evident that she had become the inheritor of an evil deity's trial.
Since Qian Renxue had not yet fully matured, even Qian Daoliu couldn't guarantee that she would eventually complete the Angelic Nine Trials and inherit the Angel God's position.
Until Qian Renxue's future was assured, he couldn't act against Bibi Dong. The Spirit Hall still needed leadership. But once Qian Renxue's future was secured, the position of Pope would belong to her, and so would control of the Spirit Hall.
Bibi Dong was merely a tool for ensuring Qian Renxue's inheritance. The Spirit Hall had always belonged to the Qian family, and even in the future, it would continue to bear their name.
"Bibi Dong, you want to use me to kill the Tang family, but have you ever considered that if I allow you to rise, why wouldn't I also allow another twin martial soul genius to rise?"
"It's ironic. You despise Xue'er so much that you even sent her on a dangerous undercover mission to the Heaven Dou Empire just to get her out of your sight."
"But what you'll never realize is that the only reason Xue'er agreed to go was to prove herself to you—to show you that she wasn't the useless child you thought she was. Everything she's done has been for your approval."
"Unfortunately, no matter what she does, you'll never recognize her efforts. Since that's the case, as her grandfather, it's time for me to help her get some revenge on you."
After sensing that Bibi Dong had left, Qian Daoliu gazed meaningfully at the ten-meter-tall Angel God statue, his eyes alight with golden flames.
For the sake of Qian Renxue, Qian Daoliu would do anything. If Qian Renxue gained the qualifications to become a god, what would it matter if the Spirit Hall was destroyed? Once she ascended, no one on the Douluo Continent would be able to stand in the Spirit Hall's way!
