Douluo Dalu 2: Heavenly Eyed Douluo

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Tang Sect

"What are... to do? To think he'll...."

"He's just... unconscious.... injuries... He'll be fine."

"....Is it just me, or does he look a bit different?"

Familiar voices sounded in Huo Yuhao's ears as he slowly came to consciousness.

"Hmm." He groaned, his eyes scrunched tight from a sudden headache he felt like constantly hammering in and on his head whilst also feeling vertigo; making him see everything blurry and distorting. "Ugh... my head.....and my eyes. I think I'm gonna puke."

"Nope! No, no, no. Uh-huh," Suddenly, Huo Yuhao felt the world distorting even more and the intense urge to hurl was just a moment's away of happening. "I like you little Yuhao, but I don't like you that much that I'll just let you puke on my uniform. This is my only clean one for the rest of the week."

"Hmph. They say that the way to capture a woman's heart is through her stomach, looks like that term perfectly fits you, whose heart and stomach are conjoined."

"Oh, shut up you! Don't forget that I'm still your teacher!" Tang Ya blushed.

Bei Bei chuckled, not even stopping when Tang Ya started kicking his shin, it instead made him burst out laughing and clutching his sides.

All the while Huo Yuhao, who had fallen onto the ground with his back on the ground, used the moment of the two older couple recuperating from the consequence of doing mental time dilation training. It didn't take long for him to recover most of his senses and slowly get up.

"Oh, good afternoon little brother. How are you? Are you more awake now? You really have some guts, actually daring to travel into the Great Star Dou Forest by yourself." Bei Bei turned to ask after pacifying Tang Ya.

"Hehe." Huo Yuhao scratched his cheek, opting not to answer because it would only embarrassed him more. He realized it now more than ever of how weak he truly was. If he wasn't stoppped by that Wind Baboon and meeting Skydream Iceworm, I'm afraid his fate would be far worse than he imagined.

Shaking his head, Huo Yuhao began to rouse the soul power in his body and reach out for that indescribable feeling in the depths of his Spirit Eyes.

Huo Yuhao felt an overwhelming qualitative change in his soul power, body and martial soul. Gentle soul power surged out, and everything that he saw with his Spirit Eyes became clearer. Furthermore, many instinctive marks had appeared in his mind, and each and every one of them were skills—four to be exact.

Bei Bei and Tang Ya saw a jade-white soul ring rise from Huo Yuhao's feet. It slowly moved upwards, all the way until it reached his head. Then, it slowly moved downwards with a rhythmic pace. It was his first soul ring.

Bei Bei subconsciously mutter to himself, "Sure enough, it's a ten year soul ring." Only, he had a slight feeling of doubt in his heart. Why did the colour of Huo Yuhao's ten year soul ring seem to have a sort of sparkling, translucent feeling—as if it were slightly different from an ordinary ten year soul ring? Tang Ya shared the same sentiment as she noticed Huo Yuhao's strange pupils, like two commas connected to a ring that circled around one big pupil, flashed with a golden sheen.

Bei Bei and Tang Ya could both sense undulations of soul power from his eyes, as well as a spiritual undulation, which caused them to be distracted for an instant.

But as the moment passed, Bei Bei couldn't help but say, "A spiritual-type martial soul? A spiritual-type martial soul that's merged with a Wind Baboon as its first soul ring?" disbelief set on both his and Tang Ya's faces.

Huo Yuhao didn't take notice of the strange looks they had on him, he was more focused on the four skills Brother Skydream had given him. Of course, the feeling wore off as he thought about something else.

Taking a deep breath, he concentrated on the soul power coursing throughout his body, by instinct, he circulated the energy in a certain pattern and made a hand seal.

'Ram.' Huo Yuhao was concerned for a moment, worried that the mental training he went through would be all for nothing.

His face lit up, feeling a reaction of his soul power to the hand seal he made. This proves that those Jutsus the Ancestor spoke of, can be used in real life.

Huo Yuhao felt tears flowing down his cheeks. Bei Bei and Tang Ya saw this and didn't think much of it, associating it with his joy of getting his first soul ring.

How could they understand his true happiness? He finally finished his one week of training under his Ancestor, though he only got a "barely passable" from him and it was a truly hellish mental week, he was still proud and excited that he managed to learn as much from the faceless dark figure. But he shouldn't get arrogant as he only trained "mentally" and his physical capabilities were still abysmal.

Finally, Huo Yuhao turned to address them with a bashful smile. "I'm sorry for that embarrassing behavior of mine, big brother Bei and big sis Xiao Ya."

"What's with that sudden formality? It's fine, it's fine. Anyone would react like that when they got their first soul ring, especially with their own hands." Tang Ya said, rolling her eyes. Her expression turned serious. "You've got guts, you know that? There's a reason why most soul masters, especially Spirit Scholars, wouldn't find their spirit ring here. This forest is considered one of the forbidden zones of humanity, even a high ranking soul master would easily die in this forest."

She let out a sigh. "The reason why we chased after you was to protect you, since Bei Bei and I are official Soul Masters. However, your luck is quite good. Although the first soul ring you've obtained isn't too strong, you've suffered no injuries on the whole."

Huo Yuhao was stunned speechless. A familiar warm feeling surged in his heart, a feeling he'd only feel whenever he was with his mother. Because other than her, no one else would ever show such kindness towards him.

And with his eyes, he could see that there was no falsehood in the young couple's eyes, pulse and body movement, only a sincere look on their faces.

Bei Bei then asked, "Little Yuhao, is your martial soul a spiritual-type? I sensed a strong spiritual undulation earlier."

"Hm. My martial soul is the Sharingan. It's a mutated martial soul that has the spiritual attribute." Huo Yuhao replied, opting to go with that name for his martial soul in honor of his Ancestor.

Bei Bei raised his eyebrows and let out a sigh. "What a pity that we arrived late. If we hadn't, we would've found little brother Huo a better soul beast to merge with."

'No one's better than brother Skydream.' Huo Yuhao internally retorted.

Tang Ya hummed, tilting her head in thought. "Little Yuhao, since you've already obtained a soul ring, what do you plan to do next?"

Huo Yuhao was stunned by her question and went quiet. That's right. What should he do next? Before coming to the Great Star Dou Forest, his aim all along had been to become a Soul Master, and obtain a soul ring that belonged to him. Now he accomplished that and more, what was his move will be?

Just wander throughout the continent, cultivating and training his skills perhaps? With his Ancestor's words, even if he doesn't become a Titled Douluo, as long as he continues to make progress in his Jutsus and awaken more of the Sharingan's true abilities, then even an empire wouldn't be his match.

Tang Ya was secretly happy when she saw the indecisive look in his eyes. She sent a glance towards Bei Bei, very "subtly" nudging his arm.

Bei Bei rolled his eyes towards her and said, "Little brother Huo, what kind of people does your house have?"

Huo Yuhao's gaze instantly froze for a moment, cold glint flashed across his eyes. Following that, he shook his head decisively. "No on. I'm....the only one that's left of my clan."

Tang Ya was excited, blurting out, "Good!"

Both turned to stare at her in shock. Tang Ya, noticing the slip of her tongue, profusely turned red as a tomato.

"I-I, no, wait! I didn't mean it like that. It's a misunderstanding! I promise, little Yuhao!"

Speechless, Bei Bei slapped his left hand against his face while using the other to knock her head. "What the hell are you saying?"

She glared at Bei Bei and said, "I didn't do it on purpose! Little Yuhao, since you don't have any ideas right now, why not join our sect?"

"A sect?"

Tang Ya nodded her head and said, "It's a sect, and was previously the number one sect in the continent. If you join, you definitely won't be at a disadvantage. Furthermore, our sect's secret techniques are very suitable for you to cultivate. Since you're all alone and you're so young, it'd be better for you to join our sect, since everyone will take care of each other, rather than you being so bold by yourself. After all, luck can't always be with you. What if something happens when you're moving by yourself?"

'She does prove a point....numbers do prove to be advantageous in most situations. Also, what are these secret techniques she said?"

Huo Yuhao subconsciously asked, "Sister Xiao Ya then, what is your sect called?"

Tang Ya smiled, a smile filled with complicated emotions—pride, confidence, sadness, regrets and bitterness.

"Tang Sect."
